Collar x Malice: deep cover 2-part movie information:

The two movies will open on May 26 and June 23, respectively this year.
The movies will cover an original story and introduced a new character called Mitsuru Sowa (CV:  Katsuyuki Konishi ) that will appear:

They also announced that the protagonist Ichika Hoshino will be voiced by Kaede Hondo.

Very interested in this one. I remember it having to do with urban legends and I like my otome games a bit spooky.

Well. This is quite something. Tfw you have to be a baseball star aiming to win the league championship AND be an idol.
I do not know how that works but alright. Could be funny to watch honestly.
 
 
There is also something about them recruiting for the newest Altergear (non-romance branch) title. I would be surprised tho if any of the titles from this branch end up as a success.
I haven't heard anything good about the title that was already released. Doing romance-less joseimuke visual novels only works with good characters and story.
I guess we'll see...

Was the listing for "Nightmare Diary: Chapter One" or "Nightmare Diary: The Demo"? If so then yep, that's the right one.

Hi! I've been working on an RPG x Puzzle x Visual Novel hybrid called Nightmare Diary / Akumu Nikki since 2018. Since then, I formed a few teams to handle tasks that I'm not super confident in, or just to lighten the load on others. Most of these teams sadly wound up not existing after awhile due to getting hold of terrible people, but my current team, DreamerLabs, has been around since 2020 without issue!

That said, I need artists on the team so we can have CG scenes for the game, and musicians to help lighten the load on the current musician, whom is suffering from burnout lately.

As I have pointed out in the tags and in the title, this is volunteer work because of having a very very tight budget (at the moment, I only make about $6 a month from patreon, which is not enough to really pay anyone)

When and if this changes, I will indeed pay people as well as I can. But right now that is not doable, as i'm sure you understand.

If you're wondering "can I put my art or music in my portfolio in exchange for being a volunteer?" The answer is yes! I don't mind, and if it'll help you and me, all the better!

Truth be told everyone had already given up on this anime project actually happening since we heard nothing about it for years. So it was more recent when they first announced it, but they only made it real now.

I feel the same about this! 
For me Yanagi is in the middle. He's not my favourite, but he's also not my least favourite. But I do recognize that if it's going to be a movie then it's only logical that they will do the "true" route. I'll also have my fingers crossed that we will get scenes with the other LIs though. I'd love to see many Sasazuka and Enomoto moments T_T
And yes, they have to animate my girl Ichika well too, hopefully the movie turns out good (I fear many anime adaptations of otomes only end up in disaster...)

An anime project for the otome game Collar x Malice was already announced 2019. This year in September they revealed it as a movie to be aired in 2023.
Today they revealed that the movie will air in two parts under the title "Gekijōban Collar×Malice Deep Cover". The first part will air summer 2023 and will be animated by Studio DEEN.
The key visual suggests that it will be an adaption of Yanagi's route, which is the final route of the game.
Collar x Malice was first released in Japan in 2016 for the PS Vita. In 2017 it was also officially released in English by Aksys Games. In 2020 Switch ports for the original game and its fandisc Collar x Malice Unlimited were released in Japanese and English.

I'm glad it's a two parter because now I can at least have hope that the pacing won't be a complete disaster. This way they should be able to convey the central plot well enough.
Still a bit miffed about it being Yanagi's route since it was my least favorite. However, for stand-alone movies it is the only sensible choice. It answers the big questions, after all.
I just have to hope for as much Shiraishi screentime as possible. And I demand Ichika to be animated with all the love in the world!

Lover Pretend was originally released in Japan in March 2021 on Switch. Aksys is also holding a giveaway for the game on their Twitter. It will close on the 14th December.
In reviews it is described as a k-drama-like romcom. So it might be something for those that want more romance in their otome games! It's a breath of fresh air in the localised otome sphere since it's still pretty rare to get romance focused ones.
I'm also curious how I will feel about the k-drama-ness of it all. My sister loves them but I haven't watched much myself.
I also have it on my desk already but it will have to wait until I'm done with Pokemon lol

After doing some thinking regarding the development/production of my own visual novel, my team and I are starting to come to the conclusion that most of our current problems would be solved by having...well, an actual publisher! XD We self-published our first visual novel, Siren's Call, and while things went better than expected, our biggest weakness as a team was definitely marketing/putting our game in front of people's faces. 

I know that Sekai Project exists, but other than them, I'm having trouble finding out exactly what our team's options would be in regards to indie visual novel publishing. Does anybody have any experience with small publishers? If so, what are the pros and cons of those you've interacted with so far? Who seems worth contacting and why?

I've been a fan of the danganronpa series for years now and I adore the whole vibes of this game. Just the artstyle is everything I love.  

The Publisher Spike Chunsoft has announced that the pre-orders for the newly at Nintendo Direct announced game from the DanganRonpa creators called Master Detective Archives RainCode are opened. You can fulfill the pre-order for the Standard and the Mysteriful Limited Editions now!

i enjoy vns a lot, more specifically otomes but I have read my fair share of all sorts of types of vns lol since i have irl friends who enjoy them as well

to say a bit about me, mainly im an artist and i've been developing my own visual novel for a while now. im really enjoying it and also makes me think about all the hard work that goes into making one. hopefully i'll have a demo done by december this year, who knows.

If you have followed the TGS2022 and did not get overwhelmed, then you are probably made of steel and you have capacities that I would be proud of. There have been more than 470 companies present and most big publishers and AAA companies announces a ton of amazing things. This definitely overwhelms our website's field of interest, so we told @Hiromi to go research a little into the relevant part for us. And hey, the amount of shown (not exclusively announced there) new visual novel projects is still overseeable. Without further ado, let's begin!
 
So, I've done some research. English sources seem to focus on AAA titles like CoD and Tekken. And when they do bring up anime style games, these are mostly RPG and action games.
I googled "TGS 22 ノベルゲーム" and was rewarded with some discoveries:
Indies
 1) Binary Syndrome https://store.steampowered.com/app/2003300/_/ PC-98 style ADV. The game system reminds me of titles you find on Asenheim (Ring Out, Scoop titles, etc.) (so obscure it is not even on VNDB LOL)
2) Coffee Talk Ep. 2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1663220/Coffee_Talk_Episode_2_Hibiscus__Butterfly/ Pixel art OELVN. VA-11 Hall-A, but as a barista. Not newly announced, but not released yet. Slated for 2023.
3) Ihanashi no Majo https://store.steampowered.com/app/1950570/_/ "Kinetic Novel" with around 10 hr length. Cute art. A boy moves to an island in Okinawa and meets a tanned girl from overseas. (JP/CH only Download release in October!)
4) Trolley Problem Inc. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1582680/Trolley_Problem_Inc/ Text adventure with narrative choices. Philosophical themes and dark humor. (Not on VNDB, most likely doesn't qualify? Out for a while now, still interesting. Even got a video by xqc)
5) Chigau!!!+ https://studio-thursday.work/chigau+/#/ Orthodox Bishoujo-ge... But with meta elements like DDLC: Some heroines remember what happens in their own route, even when you're in another girl's route.

Big announcements
6.) Aoishiro & Akai Ito After like 20 years, there is a remaster bundling Akai Ito & Aoishiro in one for Switch & PC. We have already seen this announcement in another thread and the VNTS, but it might be worth announcing it here too. It contains Mystery-Folklore setting with gay girls. Also it supports English language!
7. Seabed Audio Novel Collection Speaking of gay girls, @PhleBuster(Fruitbat Factory) was also at TGS2022 and they announce that they will be releasing the Seabed Audio Novel Collection. It has been translated by Steiner, so it will be more quality. The original game is a Conjueror work, rip him
Here's everything. While only the last two are proper announcements and the other games earlier were just showcased in that event, I still believe just for Aoishiro & Akai Ito this year's TGS was worth it. Maybe it is also worth it to keep paying attention to such events in the following years..?
