  1. Yeah, I'm actually asking on their discord for some translated screenshots. The way the game is now it is too much of a hassle to install tonight. Need a calm hour for that... Edit: fixed!
  2. If you follow the VNTS you will have noticed that one of the projects on there was inching closer and closer to completion. This title was Eushully's Soukoku no Arterial, another high quality gameplay eroge. This game contains a full card game of which you have to learn the rules of and it is quite fun to play. Requires a lot of strategy actually, or maybe I just suck at card games. Either way, after investigating the google drive files we could determine that the one releasing the patch is called RedBeard and he frequents the Eushully Crew Discord. Unfortunately, this project is confirmed edited MTL, so there might be oddities and a degree of scepticism is healthy. Report sections that are completely off in the #tl-feedback channel on the Eushully Crew Discord to help them fix it up. Amayui Castle Meister was also EMTL, but people said it read well... hmmm.... who knows! The game does require more than a simple patch, instead you need to install a lot of files that are all collated in a google drive. They laid out the order in which stuff needs to be installed, so this is not quite as easy as other game patches. The translation work apparently began two years ago and finished today, quite the pace. We'll see if this game can gain some popularity despite being edited machine translation. 3. In today's IndieWorld Switch presentation there were a couple visual novel related announcements among the games they focused on and those were the second episode of Coffee Talk as well as WORLD OF HORROR. This game is an incredibly spooky adventure designed like an old vintage PC title mostly in black and white aesthetic completely inspired by Junji Ito's works. Ysbryd Games were the one's releasing this game to Steam in Early Access. I did play this game a bit and I can vouch for its spooky and uncannyness. You do much more than just reading text here, however, because this is a very complex game with a lot of choices, combat systems, timed choices and puzzles. Really worth a damn! (If you want to check out another game that uses the same inspirations and the same style, but is a VN through and through, check out @FulminisIctusgame "Mycorrhiza". He made a thread on Fuwanovel before, so you can quickly find this game.)
  4. If you paid attention to twitter lately, you might have seen that we announced a group called Fleeting Heartbeat Studios! We can proudly announce that those are our new partners, too! These are the folks behind the modern Katawa Shoujo Re-Engineered, which you might call a remaster of the old classic Katawa Shoujo. This group had the goal to recreate Katawa Shoujo with Renpy8.0 codebase, Accessibility Features, upscaled graphics and other things that the modern game engines would offer, so they made it reality! If you want to hang out with the folks behind this remastered version, you can check out their website and their discord server! They inexhaustively work that Katawa Shoujo can be both accessed and enjoyed by everyone in its new form. We also held an interview with their chief, Local Man. Links: Website Discord: Join here
  5. Oh welcome Stormwolf. You're one of the oldies who came back. That's cool! Well, what I'm now playing is "The school nurse and his bubble addicted assistant" (https://vndb.org/r93778) which fantranslation was recently released by @Tsukishiro. Unfortunately the first person who did QC botched the QC a bit and Papa Hata has to come in and QC the thing (I was supposed to be the QC for the game, but due to Fuwanovel and all that jazz I became too busy). I'm currently working on QCing this game in 2-3 days of time and then everyone can play this without any problems It's pretty cute and I recommend it. Also the heroine has a funny quirk of blowing bubbles in her friend's face when she's mad. You can play the game here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10efcGtsBReHb8Ap9WxWHm6n4uGNhdzj7
  6. There are lots of video creators on YouTube and among them there are obviously some who cover visual novel content. Bowl of Lentils is one of the best VN documentary creators out there together with people like @AmelieDoree and their newest video which informs you about the History of LEAF, a very influential (if not most influential) company that paved the way for what we understand as "Visual Novels" nowadays. The term "visual novel" itself is based on the marketing that Leaf did for three of their games: Shizuku, Kizuato and To Heart. 7. We have some posts pinned on our Discord at Fuwanovel. https://hackernoon.com/reverse-engineering-visual-novels-101-d0bc3bf7ab8 https://hackernoon.com/reverse-engineering-visual-novels-101-part-2-9258f547262a
  8. Welcome to Fuwanovel, Adze! I like watching your content~
  9. Did someone tell you before you're a really talented writer? I really like the structure for the reviews you make. I personally do not like scoring systems as they can be too subjective, but I really do love the plus and contra's at the end. Also you picked some really good metaphors that one could imagine well while reading - fitting for a game where the metaphors are its strong suit! Will RT soon!
  10. GoG is quite good, but the Muramasa patch they have doesn't work, so we really need @Seryuuto report this, so that can be fixed. It has been months!
  11. The licensing agreement that forbid modifications and HD-patches of Katawa Shoujo has been changed officially! This project is now legitimate! https://ks.renai.us/viewtopic.php?f=13&p=248149#p248149
  12. This is a very odd reasoning. There is no fair discoverability on the internet since everyone markets, so if you don't do it you are just throwing competitive energy away. Marketing is the A&O in the modern age, even more important than the quality of the content, because people don't engage with what doesn't entice them. That is why a ton of videos on youtube only go viral if they have captivating or interesting thumbnails and titles. It is the most important part. You don't have to agree with it but in our content-laden society, it is like playing an entirely different game if you don't market.
  13. We have the honor to say that "Fleeting Heartbeat Studios" reached out to Fuwanovel, so we help them announce their long-time project via our channels! #KatawaShoujo: Re-Engineered, a fan-made accessible port of the classic visual novel.
  14. Today on the 4th of November, Ratalaika Games is publishing the game 7 Days of Rose for several consoles. It's a game made by Cross Game Studios and it looks to be a visual novel with choices. It is Cross Game Studio's first game, it seems. The price is 4.99$/€ across all versions. https://www.ratalaikagames.com/games.php?id=sevendaysofrose
  15. Try downloading Japanese fonts first, usually that helps. Maybe they didn't come with Win11 by default?
  16. Just yesterday I played a bit of Mother Matron, which is some funky horror denpa game I found where you are living in some isolated world where rats rule the sewers and there are scraps of metal falling from the sky, killing people. It's definitely horror and it got me once or twice scared. What adds to the positives is that the game has some solid voice acting despite being a totally free game. And today I started playing FAKKUs newest release, St. Yariman's Little Black Book which is an Orcsoft ZOMBIE Nukige with my beloved gyarus. There are four girls in total and they all have vastly different personalities, that are still quite one-note. I liked Mana's part the most because I like that cutesy e-girl idol star personality she has. The dialogue is quite good and the localization is also not half bad. I noticed at some point however they omitted mentions of Mesugaki, but at another part of the game they translated that into "bratty little kid" so my suspicions of forced censorship can be laid aside. It's a decent pick up for slutty gyaru nukige and I'm happy that FAKKU localized this. Have some examples of funny dialogue:
  17. Try out Danny's Game or aptly called "NTR Homestay". Also what you are looking for are Netori Games, not Netorare/Netorase. https://vndb.org/v20763
  18. The Nintendo Switch definitely offers a plethora of all-ages visual novels to play on the go. People do find this appealing, hence the Steam Deck also got so popular, though it is more the capabilities of the device to go beyond what's natively supported when you tinker with it a bit. Anyways, Nasu himself wants his games to be played on "the big screen" so TYPE-MOON releases these games like Mahoyo or Tsukihime Remake only for console. Good catch. I didn't know the PS-Store is regionlocked? Anyways, the trial version for the game is now out in the US PSN store.
  19. We have a thread how to get a lot of VNs to run on a steam deck and since this device uses Linux it might be able to help you
  20. Happy Birthday! Hope you eventually find your way back to Fuwanovel! :)
