Yeah, most games tend to use anime art rather than "Western" art, I'll give you that.

Well, what's bad about that? If I wanted "western art" i'd read Graphic Novels, Comic Books or Franco-Belgian Comics. But I am not, only reason why I am even slightly interested in some OELVN is due to what catched my attention first, it's the great anime art, which not alot of them have that. Main reason why I was drawn unto backing The Human Reignition Project is because I got attracted to the great anime art by your super talented Pinoy artist Kätzchen:

Seriously the few OELVN who uses western art won't even get the time of day from me, same for the ones who got crappy art (which is quite alot of them actually).

It doesn't change anything. It's not only Dovac's attitude that brought problems to SP, the whole staff is kind of antagonistic to the core VN's fans. I remember Peter Payne's interview and his remark about "special request" from the translaters of Sekai back then. Now they have become quieter, but not honest.

MangaGamer, JAST USA and Sekai Project are our last line of defence against the bleak winter, you should cheer them on to show them your support instead of antagonizing them.

It was already confirmed by Aginyan in that reddit post that dovac is still working at Sekai Project. Unless something has changed since then, I speculate that he's just removed himself as a public figure at the company so he's no longer the center of attention.

Not only was Qian removed from Sekai Project staff page, there is also the fact that now the Kickstarter Bio Page was changed from Qian to Ling which is another new development in the Sekai Dynasty saga of epicness. If Qian really just wanted to go stealth and things are just like before, don't you think that it is rather overkill?

  4. Meanwhile Emperor Qian wonderful Twitter legacy is no more: https://twitter.com/dobacco

The only tweet remaining is a re-tweet of someone who made a tweet about a bird with an ojousama's laugh:

Who needs seiyus when you've got birds, right?

Localization companies could save money on the voice licensing fees by replacing human voices with parrot's voices, it'll be the only feasible way to get Minato Soft titles officially localized. It'll give something like that:

  5. Emperor Ling seems to have been appointed as new overseer of the Sekai Dynasty.

    If anyone remembers this:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/4w1wy7/whats_going_on_with_sekai_project_site_has_been/

Now if you would notice: https://sekaiproject.com/staff/

The first individual that comes up is Ling, Qian is still nowhere to be found.

    Also, notice on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/chronoclock-limited-edition-box-set-and-exclusive/creator_bio

It used to say "Qian", now it says "Ling" instead.

Note: there is already a complete English youtube translation for this VN. The translator said not to use his text for any actual patches, but whether you care about that is your choice. Considering his reason was it encouraging piracy... or something... I'm not sure if I would care much myself.

His reasons should be pretty obvious, with keeping the fan-translation patch all to himself (if you watch the videos, it should be pretty obvious he is using a fan-translation patch and not just merely photoshoping english text on top of the japanese text, which mean an english patch was created, which he never released) and just uploading videos on youtube of him playing the game he can have exclusive control over anything Linear Bounded Phenogram english-related and this way he can actually get all Linear Bounded Phenogram money when people come and watch his videos on youtube, whereas if he would just have released the fan-translation patch he wouldn't have gotten anything.

Well, (some) people are unlikely to be all that happy about a JP->CN->EN translation, but do as you wish I guess.

Pretty sure that's not what he is saying and you are misunderdanding, the game is console-exclusive in Japan BUT in China it was released on PC too, think of the situation where Umineko Project is making a PC port of Umineko PS3 games in English and Russian. With an existing PC port, he can release an english PC version this way and it would be an easy solution for people outside East-Asia to finally easily be able play the game in a language they can understand.

So I am currently translating the a PC port of Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram from Chinese to English.

It shouldn't be that hard since a translation of all the text exists but the problem is that I don't know how to edit or open RPYB files, if I can't open those files I can't edit the text for the Novel. So does anyone know how to edit and open these RPYB files?

Well, good luck. I have yet to read Linear Bounded Phenogram because "playing" a VN by watching videos of someone else playing the game just isn't fun, so I never read Linear Bounded Phenogram because of that, hope this project can pan out so that you are able to make an english PC release available for us non East-Asian speakers.

  7. Oh wow I wasn't expecting this anymore, not too long ago I accessed Guilty Crown Lost Christmas page on vndb and was disapointed at the fact that China got a patch but the english side of thing never got a patch out after all. Well this sure came as a surprise, thank you very much for this, can't wait to add Guilty Crown Lost Christmas to my VN collection.

Yes, that is my current plan. This is my first attempt at a crowdfunding campaign, and one thing successful, experienced crowdfunders advised me against is offering physical rewards as a first timer.

The costs associated with producing physical rewards will suck funds out of a budget (regardless of size) like a black hole, so at this time I only feel safe offering digital rewards.

While I understand this news will be disappointing to some, I made this decision to safeguard the viability of this project.

I see, this is a saddening news as I basically only back the crowdfunding campaigns for the exclusive physical rewards that they offer, I was looking forward to the Kickstarter campaign since the game looks quite nice too, anyways still good luck with the kickstarter campaign nonetheless.

    Aginyan  Sekai Project

    Hi guys,

I see that various people are asking various questions and speculating. While I would all love to answer questions you may have, I am unable to answer the majority of them.

All negotiations surrounding the formation of the team that will handle the Baldr Sky project are subject to non-disclosure agreements put in place to protect all parties involved, including the contractor candidate, SP, and Giga. It would be a breach of those agreements for us to make statements about those negotiations, especially when they are ongoing.

All I can say is that there IS a project team being put together but the details behind it are not simple. We promised the world Baldr Sky, and so Baldr Sky will definitely be released to the world in the future.

I'm sorry I can't offer you guys any further information.

Is their translator that superior that they just dismisses Aroduc who have already done part of it?

If they contracted him for work on Baldr Sky, they are under contract with this translator.

You do know that Sekai Project and companies in general do turn down people, right? Selection process and all that? That's part of buisness.

Like for example, you have linktriforce007 who tried to get hired by Sekai Project, they turned him down so he got salty about it and started shitposting about them online while spreading conspiracy theories about them and their projects on polish fansub sites. Aroduc also basically got turned down, but in this case it was actually severe because he spent hours translating a game he doesn't even like and because Sekai Project has licensed the title he was fan-translating, which they announced 2 months ago with all likelihood that they already have their own Baldr Sky localization team contracted and in all probability it's all under NDA too, so that leaves Aroduc with a big pile of Baldr Sky fan-translation that he can never use.

  12. 8 minutes ago, ChaosRaven said:

I'm really feeling sorry for Aroduc, because it would mean that he's wasted a lot of time and effort for a translation that will go to waste.

Yep, that's the big problem, Baldr Sky is an extremely long game, since he's been working on fan-translating it since 2015 and has been at it until 2 months ago, he might have translated quite a good chunk of Dive 1 (though, he did release Bunny Black and Bunny Black 2 in 2015 and 2016 also).

Oh and Aroduc doesn't even like the game.

I'm curious if it is because they are planning a edited "all-ages" version for a steam release and they didn't feel like dealing with someone who could have possibly thrown up a fuss.

Yes I know, that is some heavy speculating on my part and that I'm projecting my own fears about the release.

I don't think we should worry about this anymore, I think that Sekai Project FINALLY figured out that Kickstarter is fine with them selling "denpa versions" (NEVER use any other terminologies, they are trigger words, use the new terminologies "denpa" or "nutaku"), so they won't have to release censored "sekai versions" if the games are originally denpa games, such as Baldr Sky, look here:

    https://vndb.org/v1306

    https://vndb.org/v1913

As you can see, it's only denpa, no sekai there.

  14. They offered him money as a courtesy, if they wanted to be mean they could just have sent him a C&D and that would have been it. Sekai Project is in under no obligation of contracting him for the translation, they probably have their own idea on who they want to work on it and it's not Aroduc.

It's really sucks for Aroduc though, but Sekai Project isn't at fault in this. it was Aroduc who took it upon himself to fan-translate it in secret since 2015.

  15. 10 minutes ago, bigfatround0 said:

Aroduc said they were in talks but SP offered them a measly amount for the work and then just stopped replying to his emails.

You misread that, please read it again. Sekai Project was not interested in this deal, they offered him some money as compensation, not because they were going to use his work, but as compensation for dropping what is doing because they most probably have plans already, plans that does not involve him or his translation.

Remember the similar situation with Chiru Chiru Michiru, koestl and that other fan-translator, that other fan-translator who wanted to make a deal with Sekai Project, but Sekai Project already had plans, plans that involved having the translation done by koestl, not that other person.
