Sugina Miki (real name Aoki Fumio). Hands down.
Stunning, detailed style that especially complements IG's horror titles. I'm proud to own an artbook of theirs.

You know, I have nothing against you personally, and if anything I'm supporting you as a fellow developper, but I think you should choose between wanting to have serious discussions about the state of VNs, and promoting your own project. It's a trend that seems to repeat in your latest threads. There is a proper time and place for each of those (more precisely different sections in the forums for each of those), and just ignoring it feels like bad etiquette imo.
What does this new song you're promoting has to do with the topic of discussion of the thread? Don't you have a more appropriate thread where you should post it? If you're posting something that is supposed to create discussion, then you should try to focus on creating objective debates by finding pros and cons. While your own work can definitely be an example, it shouldn't be the focus of the thread. Else it just feels like you're trying to "clickbait" me.
While I understand that the dev boards are not receiving much love from the fuwa community, it should be something that should be addressed and discussed among said community to find the issues, instead of trying to find a way around it.
Maybe my opinion is in the minority here, and if everyone thinks that posting those kind of threads is alright, feel free to throw rotten potatoes at me. But to me self advertisement and discussions should be two distinct things. If no one sees a problem, should I just go ahead and post discussions threads that actually aim to promote my own project?

Concerning the topic of discussion, I think that as long as your art is pleasing to the eye, you'll have no trouble getting people interested. You'll cater to a different audience, more people into comic books and less people into anime. Only thing is that you'll be targeting an audience that is less likely to know about VNs, and as a result be more wary (those people will expect more gameplay, fewer reading), but from what I understood you're trying to incorporate more gameplay elements in your game, so you should be fine.

Unfortunately, I could not disclose many of NOBY's biggest faults due to them deeply involving story spoilers. I wanted everyone to read this review, so I needed to keep it spoiler-free. But on the forums there are spoiler tags! Now, you will no longer have to put blind faith into my words, but will be able to see for yourself just how bad this shit gets. Onto the insanity of the Megumi route we go! To be clear, these are very major spoilers.

Wow, that became one hell of a wall of text. BTW, all of that happens in the span of about 60-90 minutes, because that's how long the routes are. Extremely rushed.

Makudomi reacted to Nosebleed in WEE Episode 3 - Sekai Project's Unwanted Child

While I'm not one to get on the SP bash hype train, I did find this post on Reddit to be a pretty good analysis of SP's past, present and future and how they handle their releases and it exposes a lot of the problems their business model tends to encounter, something that's becoming more apparent with Root Double's rather deplorable Kickstarter which seems to be set for failure as there's only 6 days left and they're still falling almost 40k dollars short.
This post deals mostly with World End Economica episode 3, a VN that was funded on Kickstarter almost 2 years ago on June 2014 and is still only 10% complete while SP is still pushing out more and more Kickstarter campaigns, leaving the backers of their initial projects kind of concerned.
    Actual post:
    Thoughts?
Personally this is why I don't fund anything on Kickstarter (that and it rejected my card the first time I tried to back a project), it's a dangerous thing to invest in and could easily end up making you lose money and lately it feels like companies such as Sekai Project mostly use it not have to invest internal funds into their releases, which, as we can see, can  only get you so far in the industry before it starts causing trouble.
I do not wish for Sekai Project to go bankrupt in the slightest, but it worries me how they seem to be taking a hit in their efficiency due to their ambitions.

Makudomi reacted to Nosebleed in I am trying to change what it means to be an OELVN: Thoughts?
Why can't it just be called a Visual Novel?
"English Visual Novel" doesn't imply anything special other than the fact it's in English, but do you really need the English part?
Like, would you prefer to call FPS games "English FPS games"?
Sure Japanese visual novels have a pretty established style and Western VNs tend to break out of that style, but I don't think that by itself is enough to excuse adding any extra words to the category of the game.
You could rebrand your approach to something like "I'm trying to change what it means to be a Visual Novel in the West", doesn't that sound a lot nicer?
