and they still didnt announce a release date for Tokeijikake no Ley Line ;c

    They mentioned in the second most recent backer update around when the first game would release;

"Right now, it's currently undergoing QA, and we're looking at a summer release ((hoping for early summer, not late summer). We plan to launch the Steam version and the Nutaku/Denpasoft versions at the same time. Translation for the rest of the series is underway, and at the moment we don't anticipate any issues there."

  2. I believe censorship no matter the cause is a slippery slope and one we should be cautious of. That said part of me thinks the lack of mosaics is partially in response to the fact they had to cut that scene...a compromise of sorts. I'm still going to purchase it but I don't fault anyone for not reading it if it compromises their stance on censorship.

  3. Frontwing is also potentially going to be working further with KeroQ depending on how Subahibi does...this could be good news and is good incentive to support it if you want more KeroQ-ish games. They also have a partnership with Akabei Soft2 so one of the secret projects could be another game from them. I think it's much more likely though that one of them is Frontwing's fantasy game and phantom trigger vol.4

  4. I've updated the first post with information about Frontwing's reveals. We actually have more information about Momoiro Closet and how the subahibi release is being handled.

A kickstarter is going to be going up for Subahibi with a prefundia within this week. They say it's primarily for physical goods but I'm not completely sure how it would be handled if it fails to meet the kickstarter.

Momoiro Closet will have multiple routes and the protagonist is female. A bit more information was given about it as well...no images yet.

It's likely because Frontwing have never dealt with this stuff and are simply extremely paranoid.

Mangagamer also has the added benefit of releasing its games through their own website. Games with that type of content simply won't get a steam release. Wonderful Days is only being released on Steam. I bet that is the primary reason for the paranoia.

  6. I will update the first post with frontwing stuff probably tomorrow sometime. I will wait for Frontwing to officially update stuff since their laptop supposedly died with the announcements. I want to make sure I get factual information from them to add to it.

The scene they cut is the scene with the dog which is a shame not because of the content cut but because any content was cut at all. That said the announcements that it will be unmosaiced is a step in the right direction and I imagine that this will only be good for the industry overall and for us. Denpasoft/Sekai Project's partner's will probably need to begin following suit and releasing uncensored/unmosaiced content since there is yet another competitor that is willing to release unmosaiced.

The censorship issue is an issue, however, and a pretty big one because all it takes is one thing to be allowed to get censored without backlash and they will begin pushing to see what else they can censor. Nintendo/Square-Enix is my example for this specifically with Bravely Default and the ton of games that came after that began censoring as a result. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

That said the legal issue probably has less to do with the legality in one country but because it's something they don't think they can pass in multiple via Steam (which seems to also be the only platform). Either way complain about it because censorship is still censorship. That said I'm probably going to pick it up anyway (the price is too damn reasonable and everything else seems on par for the course) just be aware of the issue that can result out of this. The other issue is we don't know the translation and polish quality as they didn't have the best record with chiruchiru michiru but seemed to be improving. Still doesn't hurt to be cautions. One final thing to be aware of is it seems that the game will have DRM (Steam)...whether it has additional they haven't said.

As for their other titles we didn't really find out hardly anything about them (hoping the press releases) gives a tad more info. (Moimoro Closet and two secret projects don't really tell us much). Technically they only had two game announcements and announcements of upcoming game announcements.

  7. 27 minutes ago, Nandemonai said:

No, there's other stuff that has to happen before a game can be obscene.  (That's the Miller Test referenced later in my post.)  My point was that those disclaimers are of dubious legal value, and if some prosecutor did decide to go after an h-game (for whatever reason), the "they're all 18" disclaimer probably isn't going to be worth much in court.

The all 18+ disclaimer may in fact work since the characters themselves do not actually exist. There is also the fact that if more can be taken from the game beyond the porn nature (which many you easily can) then they also have a real chance of arguing the fact that it is in fact art. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture (but may also include such works as literature, dance, film, games, music, etc...), producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. If the story itself can evoke an emotional response and can be appreciated for beauty over porn...which a large portion of the visual novel readers do tend to believe then really since they are already Adult Only games then they won't have an issue. You can also bet that these companies have thoroughly checked with legal representatives on the whole legality of the issue and would not have gone through with any of it if they believed it would get them in trouble with the law.

Regardless I'm curious who Frontwing is going to get to translate games for anything they reveal since a lot of the best translators seem as if they are working on other projects already.

PS - The announcement from JAST was Majikoi, and let's just said that I could post the word 'redundant' in 10 languages here lol. Oh, and Machine Child with illustration from Oyari Ashito that looks like Princess Maker raising sim game.

I don't find it redundant. There was a time a while back that people were praising the game and kept saying if it got licensed that they'd buy it day one of its availability. Time for those people to put their money where their mouth is. As for me I did get the fan translation patch but I never got around to reading it. I tend to support Jast because they brought vns to the west in the first place so I'll probably pick that up once it releases in a few years. Machine Child on the other hand I'm not even sure if it is going to be a vn... Jast also needs to learn the meaning of the word 'several' because they only announced 2-ish visual novels and the word means more than 2 but not by a whole lot.

  9. 37 minutes ago, Decay said:

No. JAST still mentions Sumaga every now and again. Someone asked about Sumaga at the Q&A tonight and JAST only said "We're working on it"

I wonder if perhaps the translator they had for it originally did a botched job and the game had to be retranslated from scratch by a more competent translator...or if there is some issue on Nitro+'s side. Either way hopefully it will release next decade year (or will be a surprise release sometime this year...haha unlikely).

Also updated the first page with all the currently known announced visual novels. Frontwing is tomorrow...it will likely be interesting and it seems likely that they'll have more to announce than Jast.

  10. Jast outlined the next 6 months Eiyuu Senki - this summer, Princess X this fall, then Flowers this winter, then Katahane in "early 2018"

Now it will be interesting to see how many of the licensed titles JAST has announced ever actually get released because I feel as if they forget they licensed some titles.

edit: If JAST manages to release all of those on time they will have released 4-5 visual novels in 1 year. This might be a record breaker for them.

  11. 1 minute ago, Decay said:

They also said that Baldr Sky isn't coming out until the middle of 2018, so there's a lot of time for them to talk about more specifics with that release.

That is quite true so guess I'll have to hope...although if they managed to get Maitetsu of all things an 18+ version I don't doubt that they will definitely do their best to try and get it. Admittedly as much as I'm happy Maitetsu is getting an 18+ version I'm pretty sure that is one VN I simply won't be picking up unless the story is really good.

  12. It seems Baldr was not mentioned at AX outside of it getting bundled together which bodes ill for the 18+ version. That said Denpasoft might just be waiting until a different convention to announce it. Not going to give up on it just yet.

In regards to Nitro+ I'm not sure how much we can fault JAST considering all things. JAST had two announcements (which I really need to get in contact with them and explain the meaning of the word 'several'). One is Majikoi and the other Machine Girl (a raising sim type of thing which is getting a world wide release and may have an 18+ version down the road but is currently all ages only at the moment.

Frontwing also updated their twitter and although they were previously all set to go seems they are adding a last minute addition...so who knows maybe that is HaruKaru.

Don't forget sekai project/denpasoft have two other cons they are going to as does Mangagamer (with at least 1 for both usually having new announcements). Jast might also announce something at San Diego Comicon but don't bet on it. That said I'm curious if JAST mentioned anything about any upcoming games getting released after Eiyu senki.

  13. 9 minutes ago, Decay said:

During the panel they already confirmed 18+ versions for the two Yuzusoft announcements... I think, lol.

I know pretty much nothing about the panel since unlike Mangagamer they have no websites up, no information outside of twitter, no youtube videos, no livestream, no individual websites per game, etc... If I happen to be wrong please point them out so I can get more info and images/videos for the above post.

  14. Sekai Project announced quite a few titles (which I'll update on the first post later) but I did notice a distinct lack of a title which people thought sekai project picked up...perhaps it's going to be a denpasoft reveal or it was picked up by Jast or Frontwing. Or it could be one of the vns they plan to announce at Otakon. I find it odd it wasn't mentioned at all.

As for the announcements the fact these were announced via Sekai Project and not Denpasoft is worrying but I'll save my concerns for if they don't get mentioned at the Denpasoft panel.

  15. I've made a slight correction it seems as if Secret Project 1 (which is also 100% edited/translated) has not been revealed yet; the Magical Lunatics game was actually Secret Project 3 (unless the website is inaccurate). If interested in seeing the full progress it's below. It does look like Damekoi though will be releasing sooner rather than later as it is 100% translated and 100% edited.

I honestly highly doubt it. I get the link between Damekoi and WA2 is Maruto himself, but I seriously doubt Leaf would let the license go unless it was for a large sum that MangaGamer doesn't have.

I hope I have to eat my words on this proclamation to be honest, but it's the most realistic way of seeing it in my opinion. I have wanted WA2 for a long time now and do hope it comes out though.

I find it extremely unlikely too and it was probably just a look of 'don't mention that one here' type of deal but hey I can hold onto a bit of hope.

Really disappointed at MG's choice of a Moonstone game and, ugh, Space Live looks like something straight out of Sakura series. But on the other hand Evenicle and Damekoi are both really great and much anticipated announcements so I'd say MG easily beat their last year's AX licenses.

Well to be fair Mangagamer has on a whole typically had better (and more) announcements at Otakon. I imagine the same will be true this time as well.

Space Live I have no interest in at all. Magical Lunatics I know little about and since I've yet to play other games by Moonstone I will wait and see how I like those first.

Koropokkur doesn't really interest me and I have no interest in backing it via kickstarter until more is known...hopefully we get a demo at the time of the kickstarter.

Evenicle I'm not too surprised about and probably will pick it up for the gameplay which tend to be unique and fun if by Alicesoft...so hopefully it actually is.

Damekoi on the other hand I'm very much looking forward to and think this was probably their best announcement for AX...although they have not even hinted at what is going to be revealed at Otakon.

I also get this odd feeling that they let something slip during the panel. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get an announcement of White Album 2 come Otakon. The look they gave each other as the name was said is just a tad suspicious.

  17. By the way in case it was missed or people didn't catch it the developed by mangagamer title is

"Koropokkur is planned for release on MangaGamer, Steam, and Japanese retailers. Development of Koropokkur will be funded through Kickstarter, so those looking to support it should follow MangaGamer on Twitter for news as it develops."

Damekoi is a surprise pick up to be honest and one I am happy about. Don't really care about any of the others (simply don't know any of them) but might pick up Evenicle for the gameplay since Alicesoft has a record of decent games and the Senran Kagura art is rather nice.

  18. Going to compile all AX 2017 (new licenses only) announcements in one place and I will be putting all announcements in spoilers by company.

After a chance encounter with Hashima Reiji at a shop in Akihabara, the two begin to grow close, sharing both their hobbies, and eventually their fetishes with one another. “Momoiro Closet” is a lighthearted romance title with a charming cast of characters, plenty of humor, and numerous scenes both risqué and outright explicit throughout the game. The title also features a fictional TV anime series, “Frill & Lace”, created as an homage to recent popular “magical girl” anime series.

The game will have multiple routes, English and Japanese text display with Japanese voice acting. INO is drawing artwork for the game, and Yuhi Nanao (Corono Blossom) is writing the story. Frontwing has not yet revealed the release format, but it will release the game worldwide with a full adult version in digital and physical release in the first quarter of 2018.Subarashiki Hibi: Furenzoku Sonzai (a.k.a. “Wonderful Everyday” is an adult-oriented visual novel, produced and written by SCA-DI, which features dark themes and heavy philosophical explorations. The story follows the lives of Yuki Minakami, Zakuro Takashima, Takuji Mamiya, and others, during the weeks leading up to a significant event in all of their lives.

Frontwing will release the game's first chapter, titled "Down the Rabbit-Hole," in late August via Steam for US$29.99. Frontwing will then make the game's remaining content available via a separate adult content patch, which expands the release to the full game at no additional cost. It will also be uncensored outside of a bestiality scene that is 10 lines and 1 CG in length. The game will not contain mosaics.

Frontwing will also launch a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the game on July 12 for physical goods for the game. A Prefundia page will launch for the campaign later this week before it starts. The game is Frontwing's first collaboration with developer KeroQ, and the two companies are considering future collaborations.
