What matters to them is sales and sakuragame has the biggest sales out of any localisation company so :chaika:

If they can't respect their own products and potential consumers that's not a company anyone should support. They probably have the biggest sales out of any localization company because they charge hardly anything for most of their games...it gives a false impression that they are successful in sales but profit wise I'm sure it's quite different. They seem to primarily care about the chinese market...shame they can't just license a visual novel by different companies and not have an incompetent half-arsed company try and translate a game in a language they are incapable of understanding.

The game that must not be named--nor the events that led to the fabled Lolipocalypse--must never be spoken of in the Halls of Fuwa.  So hath the Fuwa zealots decreed.

I was here for this and I don't remember what the game that must not be named was...

I think a lot of this probably has to do with the SESTA and FOSTA which recently passed thanks to senate, house and T rump passing it into existence despite it having very clear problems and issues for people worldwide. In addition to the crazy christian groups always causing problems of course.

Welp, undoubtedly the best rpg of 2018 just dropped yesterday and it looks glorious. Unfortunately a bit busy to play it right now, so I'll just sit here and ... look at screenshots or somethin :(

I have 17 hours in Pillars of Eternity 2 at the moment...loving it so far. It is definitely made for multiple playthroughs. Haven't had a huge amount of bugs but apparently one thing did glitch because for whatever reason one of my characters has the funny looking hat from 1 and he's supposed to have burned it.

  4. I'll wait until I see an actual released game or two (and the quality of the release) before I go ahead and suggest other titles for them to pick up. In the mean time seeing what they decide to pick up without a survey is far more interesting to me until the previous mentioned point in time. I am hopeful for the release of sakurax2 and newton's apple to actually be really good but I am also skeptical at this time.

PS - I knew that Hoshimemo did have the new translation here, but even with improved translation I think the old player of Hoshimemo should already knew the story and therefore make the release redundant.

You have to remember that the kickstarter for hoshimemo also managed to achieve getting a translation for the the fan disk as well (eventually) so the kickstarter wasn't redundant from that aspect.

  6. Pulltop/Moenovel deserves to fail if they don't listen to the people who actually care about their games. The visual novel market is saturated with both quality and crap everywhere and now people are cautious about picking a product up and no longer are limited in what is available to them. I like pulltop games but I won't support a censored or poorly translated release. We have plenty of options to choose instead of them. Hope the sales of this game make them realize that.

This isn't right. You can still play the other version. You have 2 .exe files. What you do need to do is play/ skip through 1 route of AA before the Acta .exe will launch, as an anti pirate measure.

(This can be done quickly using F7, which is "skip to the next choice" in game. Let's you skip a route in about 1 minute.)

Oh then I just installed it wrong lol...also as an anti pirate measure that is still stupid as hell.

Was this posted as a new thread and merged into this one or something? lol. Try out the demo on the steam page. The quality is pretty self-apparent.

Surprisingly no, the post was actually partially written (and saved below) and rather than deleting it I just kept it along with the tweet. Shame about the quality I didn't even notice it had a demo.

EDIT: MangaGamer just this minute also released a Dies irae DX package with also 10% dropping it too $33.95. So good news if you're a fan of this series I personally haven't tried it and last I heard the first Dies Irae was already released on Steam by someone so I don't know how MG got the license to do it as well but anyway link here.   http://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=1&product_code=1041

Unfortunately the backers of the game really got screwed in this regard as we don't even get anything close to that. Instead we get a patch to get rid of the other version that can only be played on steam and in japanese locale. They may have tried but when the mangagamer version is announced immediately after with none of the issues of the steam release...what the hell Light?

  10. The patch for this game has finally released and is a pain to install by requiring the game to be played in Japanese Locale. To top this all off Mangagamer is currently offering the game for 33.00 for both games in one (DX version or something...think it's simply both games in one and you can pick which game but who knows). Why they couldn't do that for the backers version is beyond me. Quite disappointed in the way this has all worked out. Backers are supposed to more often than not receive the better deal but it seems anyone who has waited is definitely getting the best digital deal out of anyone.

  11. Was going through the steam upcoming games and happened to stumble across this

Tayutama 2 (It seems Hikari Field is going to be working with Abyss Translations to translate the Lump of Sugar game into english.)

Before people begin asking according to the official twitter

Is there going to be a 18+ patch of Tayutama2 -you’re the only one- ? The answer is YES!😜pic.twitter.com/hEDlShScSp
This said still hesitant on the quality and it is listed on steam for a December 2017 release...so I guess people will find out the quality sooner than later.
  12. Don't support Nutaku constant failure to disclose censorship even after saying they would just goes to prove that they are a bad vn company. Hell I'd put them next to moenovel in terms of quality even. That is not a good thing. Admittedly I'm not the type who would purchase this game to begin with but point still stands poor translations and censored content (without disclosure) is an issue.

  13. I did not back Sakura Sakura and I'll admit I was interested in checking it out. Unfortunately I've been burned quite a few times by kickstarter and things don't really change. My major area of concern lies in the translation as that will make or a break a game. I really think it would probably be more beneficial to wait until Sakura releases with a translation before doing a kickstarter for this one. I am also interested in Newton and the Apple Tree but I think you would have more clout if you waited for Sakura to release. It would show people the quality of your translations and your commitment to the entire process. The enthusiasm is grand and all but Libra's enthusiasm was also grand and the translation quality turned out to be pretty terrible (but at least they plan to attempt fixing it). I don't think the current state of things is prime for another kickstarter...on that matter itself please remember what month you are going to try and have the kickstarter in.

December/January is by far the worst time period to host a kickstarter. It's the holiday season for most people and most people don't have extra money for a month or two after the holidays because they spend it all prior on gifts for other people. Historically the holidays tend to be the worst time period for kickstarters in general. Please take in account the seasons and upcoming events because I would like to see Newton and the Apple Tree succeed (hopefully with an excellent translation)

Having problems with my Assassin's Creed marathon. Until AC3 it felt good and I was genuinely intrigued by the modern-time plot but now it just feels forced and the Connor gameplay feels repetitive and so recycled that I'm on the verge of quitting, really.

The AC universe gameplay rarely changes. I played the original trilogy (struggled through AC3 out of boredom), skipped everything after until Black Flag (loved Black Flag but still felt it had a bit too much repetitiveness), skipped everything after and honestly Origins from the little I sampled has a much needed revamped combat system although I doubt I'm going to pick it up.

Still playing Divinity Original Sin II but I'm also now playing Grim Dawn with a friend every so often as well. I will probably pick up the .Hack trilogy + vol.4 re-release and Tales of Cold Steel II for PC but after that I'm done with games until next year (assuming I can afford any).

  15. It's excellent I actually quite hope the remake gets a western translation...although I'm not sure how it will compare. The original is great even though it is old (although it sometimes has issues when trying to run the game on more recent computers).
