My God. I just finished Asuho's route (<3) and started on Komomo's, so I started fast-forwarding. It's scary just how much they blink and twitch when you fast forward lol

I just generally dislike her right now. I guess I'll transition to full-blown hatred for her after I get through Komomo and Kosame's routes. Really not looking forward to it. She's the one main character I actually don't like in any way. Still loving Asuho, though. The fact that she's really surprised me, but I was wondering why she'd always stand on You's right. Kinda reminds me of Katawa Shoujo, which was my first VN <3

I just didn't expect the common route to take so damn long to finish. It took me about 2 days to get through, and by 2 days I mean 2 days where I pretty much did nothing but read Hoshimemo :/

Nope. It was one of the people my middle school had hired to teach us "self-defense". They were terrible. Then again, so was my middle school, so...makes sense. I just tuned them out, then learned how to open canned whoopass at my karate lessons after school. Ah, memories. Yeah. If someone repeatedly told me, with obvious malice, to go jump of a bridge, even if they had emotional problems, I wouldn't want to be around them. That's just not something I would want to, or need to, deal with. I like Asuho's character a lot. She has a very nice personality, like you said. I gotta admit, though, she is quite loud. I guess I like her character because I like cheery, happy girls in real life. Pretty much the same reason why I don't really like Aoi.

^^^ I was actually told that if a girl was trying to stab me, it was my duty as a man to disarm her, no matter how worked up or homicidal she was. Under no circumstances was I to hit her, even if it was self-defense and my life depended on me defending myself. I promptly stopped listening because I knew how ridiculously stupid that was. I'm on Asuho's route myself, but yeah, I'm not looking forward to doing her route. Her personality is quite unattractive. She can be cute, but damn, she is mean.

I didn't mean that they should skip it entirely, just not play it until they're feeling up to the fairly depressing content in it. Plus... , and some parts in it were very disturbing, at least they were for me. The other two routes are nothing like Heaven's Feel in that sense; they were much more lighthearted.

Really? Wow. And I thought Fate/stay night was long. Thanks for the information about the common route, that makes things much easier.

I thought I should ask, since I've been pretty much playing at all day for two days, as I'm home sick, and I don't feel like I've made that much progress on Asuho's route. Currently, I'm right at the part where Is that fairly close to the end? And about how long are the other routes compared to Asuho's? I thought that I should ask, since I'm not quite sure when I'll be able to get through the game if they're all that long. I don't think I'll be able to power through them like I am right now.

That...that sounds a little dumb... Then again, I'm used to the VNs I read focusing on plot and character development, not gameplay.

Discos here pretty much means places that play disco music lol Seeing as disco is pretty much dead here (and I know Eurodisco is still kicking), clubs don't play house, at least not traditional house. They play stuff from artists like Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia and Martin Solveig, which I guess is technically progressive house. I tend to think of traditional house music as stuff by Modjo, Daft Punk's earlier work, and Cassius, pretty much 90s house music. I like both traditional and progressive house, but I think of the 90s stuff first whenever anyone mentions house.

Glad I wasn't too far off with Sengoku Rance. I've never played it (it's a little too rape-y for me), so I was just going off on what other people told me about it. If you're looking for a roguelike, head to Steam. They have a crap ton of them, since they're getting pretty popular again. If you want to be technical about it, they're roguelike-like, or rogue-lites, since they're not exactly like Rogue, but they're still good. I don't think that there are many decent eroge roguelikes out there.

Looks like I accidentally necro'd this thread by making a new one...it merged somehow O.O I forgot that European countries still have discos. After the 70s they pretty much went belly up in the US. I guess you could say clubs replaced them, but they don't play the same types of music, at least I don't think they do. If you want to listen to club/house music, at least where I live, you pretty much have to go to a live concert. The only type of rap that I can stand is the stuff by Macklemore : /

Well, seeing as I live in California, the coldest it's been all winter is ~40°. We've barely had any rain, unfortunately, and it's been almost like a second summer for us, at least when it wasn't around 40°. We're pretty spoiled in California, where I live especially. We live by the coast, so if the temperature goes past or below 70° we all start complaining.

Yeah, I've seen a few for the DS and 3DS (apparently Phoenix Wright is classified as a VN), but that makes a little sense, seeing as how Nintendo is fully aware of their customers' appreciation of Japanese culture and games. Wow, the ratings sure nose-dived fast. I guess that's why I never heard of a lot of them.

My music preferences are pretty much all over. I like house, disco, EDM (electronic dance music), 50s jazz and swing, big band music, and rock. I also like a lot of early 90s songs...they remind me of my childhood, and have a lot of sweet house roots :3 Any fellow house or EDM fans here? Or am I the only one? EDIT: Since my thread merged with this one, I'll elaborate a little. My favorite band is Daft Punk. I almost have all of their albums on iTunes. I'm getting pretty into Madeon, and I was into Deadmau5 for a while, too.

I haven't seen one. From what I've heard, Sengoku Rance has permadeath for side characters that die, but I don't think Rance himself can die. I googled "eroge roguelikes" and pretty much came up with nothing besides...this...thing... But yeah, I don't think that one's been made yet, or at least has gotten popular enough to get a result in the first few pages of a Google search. From the roguelikes that I've seen, most don't have sexual content because they want to either get popular enough for a wide audience to play (e.g. Steam roguelikes) and having sexual content would make that harder, or they just don't have it because it doesn't add to the gameplay.

Just wondering, since the few VNs that I know are originally written in English are Katawa Shoujo and Starswirl Academy (and SSA isn't even out yet). I know that VNs were pretty much a Japanese thing, and that they're still not that popular in western countries, but you'd think that there would be a few more out by now. It's probably because of my recent introduction to VNs that I don't know that many, but still, I haven't heard of more than a handful. Are they usually any good, or is KS a rarity in its high quality?

And, seeing as you haven't read it yet, you might want to check out Katawa Shoujo. It's without a doubt one of the better VNs I've read, and a good VN for noobs; that was my first VN.

Welcome back! I think I actually remember you from when we both joined; pretty sure it was around the same time. As a funny coincidence, I also took a hiatus from Fuwanovel, but came back a few days ago. The coincidence has been doubled!
