@toranth, yeah the story & the horde of heroines are really great, same goes 4 its fd as well, but ....
the difficulty level.......is quite something, you know.
not wondering why up until now, there hasnt been made any attempt in picking it up, as far as i know. of course its fairly new, but....
reading it reminded me @my days in school trying to decipher caesar´s bello gallico

XReaper reacted to Kelebek1 in A game during the Sengoku era
Well you didn't specify that it needed to be in English, so:

https://vndb.org/v1967- Sangoku rather than Sengoku, but you should still like it, it's the same sort of deal. Has some gameplay in the form of battles, but you can't lose them and they don't take too long. There's a translation on this forum which should be out in some months. I really like it. Ryo Fu <3

https://vndb.org/v13188- Sengoku Koihime. Made by BaseSon, same as above, but set in the Sengoku era. Main char in this one is the nephew of the protag in the above. Just as his uncle time-slipped to Sangoku era, the protag here time slips to the Sengoku era. You follow Oda, and Konami is the best girl. Doesn't have any gameplay. Really nice VN. Hope they make a sequel, and not go down the Moeshouden route of Sengoku, because those are pointless.

https://vndb.org/v16629- Newest release in the Sengoku Hime series. I personally don't think it's that great (I think Sengoku Rance was terrible, as an fyi), but it is popular, and it's basically just like Rance, in that you start off with territories, and you expand out taking more areas. You can choose your starting faction from many of the biggest clans at the time. All SLG gameplay here.

https://vndb.org/v12260- Again, not specifically the Sengoku era, it's set in the 1800s. ChuuShingura is a famous story, you can read about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forty-seven_Ronin. No gameplay. It follows the real story very well, but also throws in some time-slipping stuff. It is pretty faithful to the original for what it does, and does throw some really interesting connections to the real story. Hashimoto's story for instance with Ohatsu, compared to their real versions (don't want to spoilerz it). And I have to say, the pacing and the story are amazing. I rate this as the best VN I've ever played actually. I was really blown away at how they managed to keep the story interesting throughout, without it getting boring, pacing very well done. It's entirely kinetic, very long, and there's very few H-scenes in it, which is really a plus in my opinion, as it didn't really "corrupt" the story (too much) for the sake of sex. Really really well-made. Again, it's old-timey Japan, all about samurai and the code of the samurai, and seeking revenge.

https://vndb.org/v12033- This one is a bit more of a stretch maybe. It's an SLG like Sengoku Rance, but set on the world stage, not just Japan. You go around conquering the world, and each faction has heroes from all times in it. The English faction has King Arthur and the Round Table for instance. America has Christopher Columbus and Billy the Kid. EU has Napoleon, Da Vinci and Marie Antoinette. China has Lu Bu and Sun Tzu etc etc. So it goes all over, it's not just swords, there's magic and everything too. Again, all SLG gameplay. It's not bad, there's also an English interface translation for it on HongFire.

Vampire God also part of the secret society, She's the twin sister of Devin but didn't grow as much. Most of the time she is very extroverted, outgoing, and upbeat. However she has no problem instigating problems and deep down is very sadistic.

the age of titles shouldnt be a reason why, or why not one is going to translate it, as i personally liked Battle Goddess 2 & Phantom Shogun Princess 2 the most out of their games, but that depends on ones own taste. & regarding the actual length of said game, you do know that hrpg´s mostly consist of fighting/grinding etc, instead of long talking sequences?
as for the rest, i can only say that the project has just recently started & its way to early for thinking about (partial)patches or anything related to that.

      Heroines
Himitsu     Himitsu is Nikolai’s childhood friend. She is kind, caring, she always worries about him, sometimes even too annoyingly so. But is simple friendship really enough for her? Maybe the years of devotion earned her something more?
          Katherine
Catherine is Nikolai’s ex-girlfriend who left Japan about a year before the beginning of the game’s events. Their parting wasn’t the prettiest and Nikolai still carries quite uncomfortable memories about it. Perhaps he would have forgotten them with time, but Catherine suddenly returns and, moreover, transfers into his class. Why did she return? Does she still love him? Does he still love her?
          Eli
Ellie is the granddaughter of the board chairman of the school Nikolai goes to. She is a self-willed, proud girl and thinks highly of herself, but cannot be said to lack ardour. Is everything really as simple as it looks at the first glance, or is there more than meets the eye behind the image of a spoiled young lady?
          Kagome
Kagome is the representative of Nikolai’s class. He has never paid attention to her before, but a certain sequence of events makes them come to know each other. Kagome isn’t loved in the school, and she isn’t really burning with desire to become friends with anyone either. Is there a reason for her behavior? What hides behind the facade of a simple unsociable girl? What secrets does she hide?

I finished Swan Song. I really didn't like the good ending. It felt rushed and kind of cheap, like it was just summarizing most of the events taking place without going into details, with very few character interactions. "And suddenly everything got better and everyone lived happily ever after, the end."  Which is unfortunate because the normal ending is so eventful and interesting, even though I prefer good ends to depressing ones. To give a quick example:

dat devilish lewdness is seriously inappropriate in this honourable forum, where have all those morals gone? instead of exchanging different views over librorum animatorum like in the olden days & deeply rejoicing when literary heroism strikes our hearts anew - an increasing amount of cultural degeneration spreads unseen in our very midst!
Woe thee who succumbs to the flesh, who favours painted maidens over ones alive - woe thee who falsly idolises kawaiiism, immorally panting in a rooms darkest corner, one hand down the loin, one fanatically crasping a mouse & all whilest invokating juggernauts called sakura, minami, or rin....

So we've been in hibernation for a couple of weeks, then something very strange happened when I woke up:

    TRANSLATION: 100%
    And less importantly:
    Editing: 93.6% (10459/11177)
    Scripting: 91.6% (10238/11177)

Since the last update, we had about 1000 lines to go, but with a ton of work tumbling down on us, we could barely find time to get one burst of work out to finish. Between the last update and yesterday night, we had actually managed about 500 lines translated and a few other odd jobs done, but we didn't feel it was substantial enough to report to anywhere but our twitter. Yesterday, our translator simply sat down, and churned out the last five hundred lines in a night, and I have no idea how he did it, but it's finally done!

I've been keeping a rigorous log of our work on our twitter @kuoeeVN, where I'll continue to post our day to day workloads. Here's the rest of our agenda leading up to release:
Finish editing (the numbers above are only the first round of ediing) Translation Checking Finish scripting (while scripting, I also do a final editing pass + proofreading) Possibly port to O2 engine Image editing We had originally planned for perhaps a mid-May release, but with that last couple of weeks of work we hadn't anticipated, and this new task of working on an O2 port, we might have to push it back further.

Regarding the port, O2 is a VN engine that's been around for a while in Japanese, and they're just starting to provide English support for it. As far as I know, it's web-embeddable and can be packaged into android and iOS apps. Its key strength is that it's compatible with Kirikiri. It was worth looking into since Blue* was one of the first VNs to be released for it, in Japanese, after being ported from Kirikiri. Our translator had been talking with Namaage, the original developers for Blue*, and with Novelsphere, who owns the O2 engine. Namaage are fully supporting us in this, and right now, we're just waiting for the green light from Novelsphere before we can start porting.

In the meantime, our demo is still available, over in the link right up the top (though now, it feels a bit dated, and parts of the demo have been cleaned up for the final release).

Extra Update that doesn't really need its own post: We just got the all clear from all parties to have a look into the ported O2 files. We're due to receive those files in a couple of days, then we'll slap together a quick demo to test out the engine.
