Winter 2015 Anime Discussion

Waiting for Aldnoah and Koufuku Graffiti.

Aldnoah as I want more soundtrack awesomeness and MAYBE some semblance of a decent... anything really.

Koufuku Graffiti because... After watching Nisekoi's food porn preparation sequence in the first episode...  Anime food has never looked as Akiyuki Shinbo presented it. I can only imagine the difference now since this is going to be dedicated to food.  :kosame:

Koufuku Graffiti was nice. I didn't know what the premise was (MAL's synopsis is incredibly vague) but it turns out it's just about two girls cooking fabulous food and friendship (nothing wrong with that of course).

I'm liking the characters so far. Needless to say Kirin is best gril.

I don't think the food is any more fabulous than anything else I've seen before. It's well drawn but nothing groundbreaking.

Though that's not really a complaint, just a comment.

Animation was also not super Shaft, felt more like standard animation you see in most anime.

It was no Monogatari for sure, but still pretty distinctly Shaft-esque I think. The way they use the sound effects and the choice of shots in particular.

Might follow that one if I have a slot left, it's a pretty alright slice of life it seems.

I guess some of the shots were, but it's definitely still in the "normal side"

Not saying it looked bad, just don't expect anything fancy I guess :P

Definitely more on the normal side, as you said. I'll still enjoy it though. I would have enjoyed this regardless of it was Shaft who was producing it. ^^ Just not exactly what I was expecting is all.

Yep, both Ansatsu Kyoshitsu and Death Parade were really rad, especially the latter.

Seems like we'll get one episode = one game in Death Parade, so it's gonna be Death Billiards every week (with a bit less prod value but let's be honest that first episode was still really good, based Madhouse). Sounds awesome.

Really enjoying the animation for Ansatsu Kyoshitsu.

I'm already up with the manga but it still seems like they'll do a great job animating it so it shouldn't be too boring.

It's an even bigger improvement when compared to the OVAs (god i hated korosensei's voice in those.)

I approve.

This season I have my eyes on Ansatsu Kyoshitsu, Death Parade, Junketsu no Maria(Production IG) and World break(random normal anime I got interested in, though after watching the teaser don't have much expectations of it).

For Ansatu Kyoshitsu, the summary doesn't seem too interesting but many people are talking about it. Is it really as good as people say?

I was wondering if I should watch Death Parade while it airs or marathon it afterwards, any suggestions?

Pretty much everything I wanted to watch has started, so here are my thoughts so far:

Yuri Kuma Arashi: Um, well, it was weird. Admittedly I had zero experience with Ikuhara as a director before starting this, so I had no idea what to expect. I'll give it a few more episodes (because yuri), but it's on pretty thin ice, and could be one of the first shows I drop this season. I guess ~symbolism~ just isn't my thing.

Saenai Heroine no Sodate-Kata: It had some decent meta-commentary in the first episode, and I have a high tolerance for fanservice, so I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit. Plus I realized after I watched it that I had read a bit of the manga months ago and enjoyed it, so I'll definitely continue to follow this one.

Kantai Collection: I know I'm ridiculously late getting into this whole Kancolle thing because I never felt like going to the huge amount of trouble it takes to get into the game, but even as someone who has zero knowledge on any of it, I kind of like it so far. It has a nice atmosphere, and the characters seem likable enough.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: I actually bought the first volume of the manga for this about a week before it started airing, and that was enough to hype me up for it. So far it's within the content that was covered by that first volume, so it was fun seeing some of those scenes animated. It's been a long time since I had this much fun with a Shonen Jump show, and I'm really looking forward to following along with it every week.

Death Parade: This actually went above and beyond my (already pretty high) expectations. Solid animation, great music, and a good dramatic atmosphere. This could be the anime of the season if it keeps up this level of quality.

Koufuku Graffiti: It was cute, I guess, but with Kancolle I already have a decent slice-of-life show to follow, so if it doesn't step it up a bit in the next couple of episodes, it's right behind Yuri Kuma Arashi on the chopping block.

I might check out Rolling Girls too, depending on people's thoughts, but between all this and Parasyte's continuation, I don't know if I really have room for it. Maybe if one of these ends up getting dropped.

Well I don't play the KanColle game either but I enjoy it a lot too.

So Saenai is harem and ecchi?

The Fuwanovel community not have any love for Kuroko no basket?

I know your feeling. It's the same with the Sengoku franchise. Forever alone watching it.

Pretty sure its gonna be crap any time any anime has done something like diverge from the manga it's always inferior for example FMA and FMA brotherhood the later followed the manga and is favored over the original anime

I'm not saying it has to turn out superior, you can never replicate the source material's feeling to perfection, i'm just saying it might not turn out like absolute unwatcheable garbage (it might but it's not an absolute rule, especially if you have good writers).

Noragami from some seasons ago turned out pretty cool for example (yes the manga is still better but the anime was still above average)

But, well, it's your choice.
