silvver Posted June 3, 2014 Share Posted June 3, 2014 I love when Translators decide to cut off H-scenes from the translation I hate H-scenes and think that cutting them out of VNs makes VNs batter, at least for me it does. If I were to translate a VN once my Japanese becomes batter I would eather translate all-ages titles or cut off H-scenes if I were to translate eroge, and if someone is going to complain, I would simply tell them that I am not translating for people who want H in a first place so I don't care if he is not satisfied with my work. I guess that other translators who decide to cut out the H content from their translations are having something similar on their minds. I don't get you at all. You are making problems where there aren't any. If you are playing eroge, and don't want to read h-scenes- then just skip them, hold CTRL or whatever. It's that simple. If you would translate a VN someday - do a full translation with h-scenes, and let the people choose for themselves. It's that simple. If you don't want to translate h-scenes, just choose a non-ero VN or a full ages version. It's that simple. Why are you making a fuss about it on forums instead? And while it may be true that removing the latter is easier and will usually cause less damage, it will cause damage (especially when done by an incompetent translator). Just for argument's sake, I'd say that in your average moege/charage, a well-written sex-scene can actually contribute much more to the story (in terms of relationship development) than a generic happy ending. For me, sex (preferably, but not necessarily explicit) is an integral, and perfectly natural part of romance. Most of the time, relationships that end on holding hands feel incomplete to me (and often they feel unrealistic). In some rare cases, I found them about as unsatisfying as an axed, cliffhanger ending. This is not even slightly sarcastic - that's honestly one of the main reasons why I usually can enjoy a pure romance story in 18+ VN, while in tamer formats, I often find this genre simply annoying. If for you H-scenes are nothing but a fap material, well, that's just YOUR point of view. Now, who is the actual pervert here, huh? You are obviusly since you like perverted stuff and H and find it natural part of romance but that is off-topic. If you seriusly believe that H-scenes are important part of story then I can only say that I am questioning you level of inteligence, that is if you are serius about it witch I doubt you are. I am not making problems as I haven't made this thread it was separated from another thread. But it is not that simple, Even if you hold CTRL you will still see parts of it, and it will influence your enjoyment. If I ware to do translation I would do it for people like me who enjoy story and I wouldn't care for perverts who want H. Insulting the person you're arguing against isn't the correct way to debate, if you're unable to keep yourself under control you shouldn't be arguing in the first place. I'd like to reiterate this as well. The last few pages have actually been pretty interesting debate wise; lots of information and different points of views. Descending into insults now will ruin it. Ctrl-skipping will certainly make it a pretty short experience, but you're still going to see quite a bit of stuff. Some people might get disturbed by that (one example: this guy I'm talking about.) Well yea that's what I have been thinking about, you don't have to cut out the fact that they had sex just cut out porn scene itself.
