If you don't mind something a little childish in tone and simplistic in gameplay, the Galaxy Angels trilogy has some in it. Pretty decent, and you will screw it up if you get complacent or don't play attention. And your choices do effect gameplay, though more so in Eternal and Moonlit lovers than in the original.

If you'd like something with a slight fantastical edge, Shinigami no kiss wa wakare no aiji's pretty good. Be patient with it, as there is only one choice, but you get another route if you finish the other two, so bear with it. Also, have a loli. Look that term up yourself, not explaining it here. This may seem like it's a bit childish, but if you haven't checked it out then the Galaxy Angel Trilogy is pretty good. Kind of like a VN of Mass Effect for children, very loosely of course. Gameplay is a little simplified, but you do need to be careful not to be caught off guard by it TOO much, and it does really pick up in Eternal Lovers in terms of choice affecting gameplay. You might not like it, but it's probably worth a try given what you seem to like.

I have a pact with one of my friends to go to Japan at some point, either before or after University. Main plan is to go to Tokyo and visit Akihabara. Don't know that much, so just going to standard and Otaku landmarks pretty much. Anywhere you'd particularly recommend? And I feel somewhat jealous that you live in Japan. But I've never been there, so mine is the biased view of a westener who doesn't really know what he's talking about.
