Picked up, or rather finally started Ace Attorney trilogy on my 3DS. Finished the first game, in the middle of Ep1 of the 2nd game, which is atm a shame because i expected Phoenix to start off veteran pro but nooo gotta blank slate him i guess for tutorial purposes? idk how long it will last but pls
Pretty fun, I always enjoy doing them active mystery solvings <- hardcore Danganronpa fan Cases did an overall good job of integrating all the characters involved- everyone feels important- and making you care for finding the truth -things get pretty srs- Ema > Maya pls Minor complaint is if you're marathoning the game, 3 investigative days on top of 3 trial days per episode can make things feel tedious. i hear the 2nd game does 2days/2trials so we'll see if i like it or not Enjoyed the 2000s 8bit Gameboy Advance Capcom musics or whatevers, reminded me of Capcom's other Megaman Battle Network BGMs  I did use a walkthrough towards the end srryz, mainly for the investigations cuz it's like where the fk do i go next and what the hell do i have to show to the next prick in order to progress >< Miles Edgeworth image was unfortunately ruined because I knew @Mr Poltroon for like 3 years prior now and that's all who i could think whenever Edgey came on screen is friggen' Teegan from Versailles ._.

Thanks for sharing your very insightful thoughts on Muv Luv! You could try reading Altered Fable for a change of pace. To be honest, Sharin no Kuni isn't exactly lighthearted, as it has its tense moments (though obviously not to the extent of MLA). If you had read Grisaia, I'm sure you would find the two to be quite similar. With that being said, Sharin is still a pretty solid vn in terms of plot so good luck with it!

    MuvLuv Alternative finished!
Gosh, what a rollercoaster it's been. It's gonna be hard to put into words, and the current state of the forums doesn't help either
Actually I think I'll edit this post when it's back to normal. Writing like this is torture.
    EDIT:
    Ok, here we go!
Well, and that's it. And as always, thank you all so much for being there to exchange thoughts and impressions. It definitely makes this all the more enjoyable
I think I'll be reading Sharin no Kuni next for a change of pace. I feel like reading something lighter now, after all the info dumping that has MLA

vndb page Partial translation patch Summary
The outset of the story has Takeru lead a settled down life in a setting similar to Muv-Luv: Extra's.
The Extra counterparts of all the male and female characters (including Mitsuki and Haruka from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien) who were introduced in the second half of Alternative make an appearance, some of them as assistant teachers, some of them as senior students. The highly literate, even obscure Japanese the foreign teachers speak is a running gag throughout the game. The story also includes an extended parody of the American series 24.

Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
There are 9 routes in total. However, it should be worth noting that Altered Fable doesn't have real routes for each girl. Instead, the routes are more like mini-arcs that branch off after volleyball, then merge back into the main route for the final arc. Hence, the route order for Altered Fable does not really matter.

    Walkthrough

    Kagami Sumika
Yashiro Kasumi     Mitsurugi Meiya     Mitsurugi Yuuhi     Ayamine Kei       Kashiwagi Haruko     Tamase Miki        Yoroi Mikoto     Sakaki Chizuru      Jinguuji Marimo     Other
Note 1: Try to explore the two islands in the island arc to your heart's content before attempting this walkthrough. This is because this walkthrough only serves to guide you to a specific route, which can lead to several missed events in the island arc.
Note 2: This walkthrough assumes that you fail miserably at volleyball. If you can somehow get to Round 3, Kashiwagi becomes playable.
Note 3: You'll have to go to the swimsuit shop at 12:00 or 12:15 to make Sumika and Kasumi playable in volleyball.
Note 4: After volleyball, if you see a silhouette of the girl of your choice, you're on the right route.

In case you didn't know, there's a recent fan translation of immhw which should be many times better than the moenovel one so you can check it out if time permits. Anyways, I look forward to seeing you around the forum too.Welcome and enjoy your stay here!

Well I was going to wait until the release of Photonmelodies to read Altered Fable since the existing translation patch only covers 3 routes but yeah I guess all the Muv Luv talk here just triggered my PTSD all over again

You can try Remember 11. It may not have as many bad ends as FSN (which has 40, smh), but the thing is that you will need to read the bad ends to understand the full story, unlike FSN where some are forgettable.
But the Muv Luv wikia says Altered Fable is canon though.

Lmao I started reading subahibi a few months ago but even now I'm still not done with Down the Rabbit Hole. I'm kind of scared to proceed to the Insects arc, which I heard is where the real deal starts (and which is why I kept stalling it :/ ).

So after reading your comment I obtained Kikokugai, I think i'll read it next to fill the huge gaping hole left by Muv Luv Alternative...
Right now I feel empty and detached, not knowing what to do after finishing MLA. Such impact, a real mixture of emotions at the end.

Actually you still have the epilogue which should take you an additional 30 minute,in addition to the hour or so in the final showdown in Episode 10. Anyways,

Firstly many many thanks to the mod that removed my post, I was so worried about Tyhndd reading that, but after four hours sleep I've release that all I needed to do was hold control... doh!
I was agreeing with Dreamysyu before saying that I also like to avoid as much knowledge of a VN as possible. That's likely to be why both scenes were very impactful for me, with both playing on my mind all the following day or two at work, but the first affecting my sleep a little. Though the comment about salt in the eyes for the second one was perfect, censored or not!
I couldn't agree more wei123, the so much consequence, I especially liked the bit with Yuuko-sensei
Wei123 I probably have like 30 minutes to an hour left of reading, but I was too tired to continue. Don't read Thyndd, chapter 10 chat in here:
I'm excited to think that I can finally start hitting the forums once I've finished reading MLA. I cannot wait for that as it's something I tend to avoid, to avoid spoiling myself as Dreamysyu suggested.
Thank you all so much for letting me bounce the shock of that scene around here, you're a great crowd so I intend to hang about on here more often!

My first visual novel was Gyakuten Saiban and started playing it in 2015. I got to know it simply because I was bored with constantly playing Pokemon on my Nintendo DS so I decided to try my hands on a new DS game. Initially, it was supposed to be a one-off thing but it escalated to me playing the sequels to it. Afterwards I played Danganronpa before moving on to Zero Escape and I've not looked back since.

The files from the download are installers, by the way, you don't need to put them anywhere, just enter the correct path to the game while installing. From what I understand, the installer should work if the exe and the bin files are located in the same folder. Did you try to redownload the patch, by the way? In case that simply returning both files into the same folder and trying to launch the exe file doesn't work, of course.
