Ideals are fun.   So let's say we could develop an ideal reimagining of a real life town (or world because why not) with NPCs that have ideal AI that are nearly exactly like real people (without the more extreme undesirable traits).  Have that world go on for so long to basically randomize the inhabitants (reproduction would work because the world would be able to create new AI), societal state of the world (without those extreme undesirables), etc (or just make each individual detail however you want but I wouldn't really care about what doesn't involve me so I wouldn't).   Then let's choose a setting (be it a school, workplace, town, whatever that particular VN would need) and deem certain NPCs as key characters and fine tune them to what would be desired for the plot (and it wouldn't butterfly effect because ideal).  Everyone else would be an ordinary person (i.e. snowflakes).   For the plot, we would set the pieces for what we would like to happen.  Protagonist is going to determine how the pieces fall.   The protagonist will generally be whatever the player wants them to be (which will make work the "I want this but I can't really explain what this is" because ideal) within limits(which will feel like "you can be practically anyone" because target audiences).   I'd like it to look very pretty.  Like, flowers and blue skies and rainbows and sunshine and smiles pretty ("I want this but I can't really explain what this is").  It would have realistic 3D models that are still distinctly...not-real, I guess.  You'd know it was a game or something by looking at it.   The plot would have an ideal path that could be followed with infinite branches depending on player interaction (interactions>choices) that doesn't turn into an absolute mess because ideal.   Gameplay would generally be the same as most VNs if you follow the ideal route, though mostly everything you say can be modified within limits (which would feel like "you can say practically anything" because target audiences and ideal).  Instances where you couldn't necessarily change much involve disorientation of protagonist and similar situations.  Events, conversation, or whatever you'd like to call it will have control of the protagonist extremely limited, though such limits could be broken depending on what is said during conversation or if you feel like just walking away mid conversation.  When you are not in conversation, you'll be able move around the world and do things/go places within limits (invisible walls because when you can't go somewhere, you can't go there).  You could trigger side events, alternate main events, or just goof around; a guideline on what should be done for the ideal route would be given.  During traveling or dull moments time could be skipped.   If the setting is more fantastic or the plot involves the protagonist being more active, there could be segments that feel like a traditional game, but they would be infrequent, to the point, and without difficulty.  Players would be able to decide how to proceed and what to do in such situations within limits (because limits), or watch an ideal playthrough.   After the ending (which there would be one because ideally structured plots don't fall apart) which brings closure, "life" would continue endlessly without any heavy structure.  But the invisible walls stay, albeit less prominent.   This would be made to "entertain".  Nothing particularly deep or heavy.  No, "I can do anything, but does that even mean anything?"

    Not gonna proofread.  Don't wanna.

Better late than never right? After the incredible success of the Steins;Gate Limited Edition contest, I decided another one was in order. Sometimes my own generosity surprises even me. Anyway, lets get to it shall we. The prizes! This time, we will have a pool of prizes. The first place winner will get first choice at what prize they want. Second place will get second choice, and third place will get the third choice.

    The prizes are:

    Steins;Gate Limited Edition

    Yumina the Ethereal (Physical Copy)

    ef: The First Tale

Donations are welcome! Just send me a PM. More prizes=more winners!

This contest will work very much in the same way the last one did. Each week will bring forth a new challenge. You will get points simply for taking part each week, but effort will be rewarded in the form of bonus points. This contest will run though January 11th, with the final challenge being issued on January 4th. Like last time, please put all non- entries in spoiler tags. Due to the costs of this particular contest, prizes will be given out a bit more slowly. So, lets get to it shall we?

    Week One
Just post that you are entering the contest. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Posting within 48 hours will net you 5 points. Posting within 96 hours will net you 4 points, and anytime after will net you 2 points.

    Week 2
Now we begin proper. This will weed out some of you who don't have the drive that others have to win. Are you ready? No? Good. Lets do this.

Your challenge this week, is to draw a Christmas themed image using your favorite fictional character. All entries within 48 hours will receive 5 points. Within 96 hours, 3 points, and any time after 96 hours, 1 point. 5 Bonus Points if your image includes Hachikuji Mayoi. Favorite image will also receive 5 bonus points.

    Week 3
You all did well. Now we move on to the next phase of the contest. This time, a little bit of writing is in order. A perhaps, a little trickery.

This weeks challenge: Write a Christmas (and December holiday actually) fanfiction using your favorite fictional character! If I have reason to believe you are not using your favorite fictional character, you will lose 5 points.  I have evidence   Posting within 48 hours is 5 points, 96 is 3 points, and anything after is 1 point.

As for the bonuses, the best fanfiction will receive 5 bonus points, and a copy of World End Economica donated kindly by Silvachief

    Week Four
Welcome to week 4, also known as the daily challenge week! Each day, a new challenge will be posted. Each time you take part, you will gain 5 points. Challenges that have a bonus will be specified. Today is not a bonus day.
Today's challenge is to tell me your new years resolution! Also, stay tuned tomorrow for a very cool announcement I have! 5 points for posting within 24 hours. 0 points for anything after.

    Day Two
Keeping it simple today. Mainly because I'm too tired to do the one I want to do today. What was I saying? Word search? No, thats not it.

Tell me your fondest memory reading a visual novel. 5 points to all who enter within 24 hours. 0 for anything after. -1 points if you ask when the next points update happens. +0 if you dont ask.

    Day Three
Everything takes so much time. Tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll do my fun one. Or maybe the next day. When will I do it? Who knows. shcboomer knows. He won't tell. He really doesn't.

What is the most irresponsible thing you have done? Keep it SFW. Same points as Day Two

    Day Five
What happened to Day 4? 5 points for 24 hours. Points update tomorrow. Screw daily.

    Day Six
We all have seen bad shows now and again. What is the worst anime that you have ever seen? 5 points for 24 hours. I'm also a liar. Fight me.

    Day Seven
Hachikuji Mayoi best girl? 5 points for answering correctly. -5 for answering incorrectly. Look forward to the next challenge. Gonna be a fun one.

    Final Week
I'd love to extend this contest, but it's become clear I don't have the time to do so. Anyway, final week. I'll just update the points all at once at the end. So yeah, no clue who is in the lead. Should be fun. Challenge time.

Make your own nation! Where is your new found country located (no random islands, legit geographic locations only)? Design a flag, and pick a song for the national anthem. Then, give me a history of your new nation. When was it founded? Who were some notable figures in it's history, how was it founded, what are some notable laws? What form of government does your nation have? The more info you give me, the more likely I am to select you as the one lucky person who will get 10 bonus points. 5 points for doing this in 48 hours. 3 points for any time after 48 hours.

I feel the hardest part of the transition between the anime they love so much to actually playing the visual novel is the acquisition of the VN. Most people are too lazy to download anything even though it's quite a simple process. Maybe someone should make a video on to do everything in like 5 minutes, to get them over the fence because I know visual novels are definitely worth the effort!

Hey everyone. Ready for some shameless self- promotion? I am.

Anyway, now that I have a computer capable of actually playing games I can do something I've always wanted to do. Livestreaming. What will I stream? Anything I can. I have an extensive Steam library and a computer capable of streaming emulated games. VN streams will also happen.

So yeah, come watch how bad I am at video games and VNs. Click here for my twitch channel!

I'm always open to streaming suggestions. Also, keep an eye out for an announcement regarding my 24 hour Rewrite stream. If you are curious as to when or what I'm streaming, follow me on Twitch, or my twitter. Or you can simply check this thread.

    https://fuwanovel.net/missing-walkthroughs

A list of all completed VNs that are still missing a Fuwa walkthrough. Downloadable as CSV for your offline needs.

Since I'm a lazy fuck I'll need someone to look through that list to tell me which of those don't have any choices and I'll filter them out, but afterwards it's free sailing for you guys to focus on those games if you so choose.

I'll add this link to the opening post as well.

Oh, and I added all walkthroughs that were not yet linked to their games on the page, so that list is up-to-date. Keep up your great work, people!

    Dear fellow Fuwan Gladiators,

You were worthy opponents, if only worth was determined by the sheer number of inadequacies you have as a human being.
You were stiff competition, if only by stiff you were speaking to the quality of your writing.
The contest was close, if only through your willing debasement in week four of the competition.
You worked hard and put in a lot of effort, so thankfully a lot of the points were participatory.

Now to address my esteemed competitors individually:

nohman: You’re pretentious and handsome and have a good head of hair.
Bizkitdoh:  I like your drawings in week 2 and 7. I guess.
Damonkala: Your touching “A Breath of Windwaker: On the Great Sea” touched me in ways I wish I could forget.
Silvachief: Your poem in week 3 filled me with glee, if only something something something… knee.
    Shcboomer:

Zakamutt: Way to drop out before the finish line. Oh, and just one point shy of 69. GG.
Ragnar: Your drawing in week 2 was really good. That’s about it though.
Imationer: You’re a man of principle and one without a free copy of Steins;Gate
Kaguya: I’m glad you had to foresight to drop out of the running. It's good to know your limitations.

Zodai, Yukiru, Cali, Nosebleed, TheLastmeloday, vibrantblade, nayleen, ryouuuuuu:

No effort is preferable to a half effort.

DrKleiner, Kitouski, goldenguy43, Lewcool, Eldin, ohiowar, Mephisto, Kendjin:

    Way to commit, guys.

    Thanks for this spectacle.

All jokes aside, it was really fun competing against you guys. You all had some incredible posts and I'm a little surprised I was able to keep up with you guys in the standings. The few of you that composed the songs week 4 were incredible. Shcboomer's post never failed to entertain me. I thought Silvachief's song titles (as well as just the consistent quality of his posts) were just so witty and topical. Good job.

At first the contenders were many, lining two entire Forum Pages with their cries of challenge. The Steins;Gate Limited Edition Giveaway appealed to many, though it was only a few that survived till the very end, clawing their way through tasks unmentionable under the gleeful gaze of their Host, Solidbatman. Some would call him a visonary, others a tyrant, though all agree that it was by his hand and his hand alone that so many hopefuls fell by the wayside, their dream of a better future crushed beneath his iron boot.

Historians believe that Week One was designed to lull potential prize-seekers into a false sense of security. Indeed, the word "simple" featured for all to see and the phrase "If you have any questions at all, ask" might seem innocent enough at first glance. What many didn't realize, however, and still don't, is that every single contender to ask the invited question mysteriously disappeared by the time that fateful final week had come around. There is no proof of foul play, of course, but given Solidbatman's actions so far we can only speculate on what may have befallen those poor souls. Nevertheless, excitement abounded in the posts that first week; an excitement that would soon give way to something more...sinister...

Week Two was the first real warning sign, though this was not apparent to many. You could see the sadistic glee in each of Solidbatman's keystrokes. Unfortunately for many contestants the Host was crafty and clever, choosing two relatively innocent mascots to represent his grim game. Yet even in that action, the careful observer could see the underlying madness. Batman, a crime-fighting hero, and Hachikuji, a young ghost with something more than a chip on her shoulder, together? Innocent to many, damning to the trained few. Knowing that it all rested on this week, that the more intelligent of the lot might see through him, the Host included a mythical three bonus points. Not a soul realized he already had them wrapped around his finger. Some gave the contest their all, others used their meager "copy and pasting" skills to slip their way into the next round, many fell and were never seen again.

By Week Three it was too late, and Solidbatman knew it. The hopefuls had come too far to turn back; it was time to turn up the heat. One challenge per day was not what anyone had signed up for, but none dared voice their opposition. In the Steins;Gate Limited Edition Giveaway, the Host was Law. Conjecture, Poetry, Literature and Mind Games were the weapons of choice for this week. It is believed that at this point many of the challengers remained oblivious to the foul machinations of the Host, unaware of the death rattles sighing forth from the ones they once called "friend". I would like to think that someone, anyone was aware and had decided to beat the Host at his own game; lest despair claim even this humble historian. The tricks employed continued to make a mockery of common decency, with Batman's inclusion once again serving to blind most to what was really going on.

As a mere observer, I had already begun to question the motives behind the Giveaway by this point. Despite my misgivings, Week Four served to throw me back into the dark. Solidbatman had given the contestants free reign to create musical parodies or tributes relating to any subject of their choice. Surely a malicious soul wouldn't allow such a breath of fresh air to revitalize his pawns? Looking back, I once again curse my foolishness, and i'm sure the survivors do the same. The details should have alerted us. Bonus points abounded; this was what could turn the battle around for many! Their excitement encouraged them to play even further into the hands of the Host. I now know that they were merely being toyed with. Energetic subjects are the most entertaining to watch, the most amusing when they realize just how hopeless their situation is. It chills me to my very core that I can follow the cold logic of that sadist.

A token congratulation marked the opening of Week Five, presumably to placate those who were beginning to have misgivings. "Ever closer to the end" Solidbatman claims. I'm sure that for the remaining contestants, a lifetime still lay between them and freedom. Once again fully aware that everything could fall to pieces at this critical moment, the Host sets his opponents against one another. You may question my use of the word "opponents", but by this point it should be clear that that has been the case from the very beginning. The prospect of bonus points for the top three performances shatters any final hope there may have been for resistance. I wonder if anyone saw their downfall written large between the lines of that challenge.

My apologies for the change in writing style. The conditions under which I write this are...not ideal. Week Six, the point at which even the Host admits feeling strain.
I too, am not feeling at my best, admittedly.
In a sick reversal of positions, the Host implores the contestants
to lie, mislead and betray him.
I can only imagine how that must have felt to those who had only just realized.
This week only one could claim the prized points.
In a completely unexpected move, a brave contender voices his discontentment.
Solidbatman allowed him one more day of life, a glimpse of hope, before he, too, was removed.
The Host spoke of pride to begin Week Seven, another set of daily challenges.
It was his final chance to toy with the unfortunates attracted by the Giveaway.
Two sets of simple questions, a cryptic puzzle requiring a sharp mind and forced repetition of the participants' "favorite" previous challenge. My heart goes out to those involved in that final week.

Unfortunately, it looks like that is the last thought I will be allowed.

Forgot to say this in the post regarding how delivery of the prizes will work. I am but a humble blue collar worker with many expenses. So the First Place winner will get priority. S;G will be purchased right after I get the shipping info from them.

Second and Third Place winners should get their prizes shortly after (no more than two weeks later). Those are digital prizes and will be delivered via PM or email,

Once upon a time, there was a man named solidbatman. He decided to troll the forums and start a seven week long contest that would test the entrants' wits, guts, and determination. At first he thought this was a great idea. As time went on, he realized he had made a horrible mistake. With so many people participating, he would actually have to get the prize and make sure someone wins it. If not the backlash would be crazy. So during the seven weeks, he made different events and contests that required the participants to do really hard or embarrassing things so that he could at least laugh at their misfortune. As time wore on, he got more and more bored with the contest and decided to put in less and less effort. As the home stretch was approaching, he thought he would try to be the terrible host that makes guests do things that were not only repetitive but also annoying enough that they would have to put in effort. Even if he wasn't able to get what he wanted out of the contest, he could get some laughs and watch the poor contestants suffer. As the final days approached, he thought he would make his entrants write a story about the contest. Maybe they would write about their struggles, maybe they will praise him, or maybe just maybe, they may come to love him. However, he did not see shcboomer's post coming. All he thought was that shcboomer was lazy and put in very little effort, and he wanted to make sure he was tripped up by having to write a realistic story of some sort. He was wrong on a lot of counts, no one would have seen this post coming. Who would think that someone would post about the contest and try to figure out solidbatman's intentions. Even with that, it was not enough, solidbatman had to take full control of the situation. In order to do so, he made sure that there were bonus points and no way of knowing how to actually obtain them. Maybe if he hid some points, he could make sure that everyone would be tripped up, that or he could arbitrarily assign points. This way the leaderboard could be as skewed as he wanted it to be. As day six drew to a close, he knew that he had done the right thing and that everything was working out just as planned. Even this post was part of his master plan and nothing would stop him from accomplishing his goals. His entire intention was to raise his likes count on his profile by having more people like his posts. One thing he could not have imagined was that people would only like one of his posts and that the rest would be ignored by the mass majority. Before he knew it, he had not only failed in getting likes, but he was also outed to the entire community. What would he do now? The answer was simple, he would pretend this was not the case and move on with his merry life.

The guy betrays you by running to the "bad guys", but then they start beating on him when they realize they're losing.  Can either save him or leave him to die.  If you choose to save him, you gotta drop your weapon and just trudge your way to the exit with him on your back.  At first it seems impossible trying to just tank all the enemies, running out of potions, but then they see you're not fighting back, and they just stop and let you go.  I'm pretty damn sure if you just leave him to die the only way out is to kill everyone, so that was really neat.
