I was tired and i thought it was Natsumi for some reason
My mistake. But i've got to admit this story was damn engaging, but some of the twists were pretty ridiculous. Ken never actually whispering to himself, but actually talking to his ninja sister eri without knowing it, and people never acting shocked by her presence and acting like Ken was crazy before the twist reveal. Also the twist about his drugs not really being bad in the first place, just some relaxant... Did they even think this through when writing it? I could't help but facepalm. I still can't figure out Masaomi.. I don't know if he was a villain or just doing his damnest to look like one with Ken's growth in mind. The latter sounds really silly, but i guess if that's the case the reason why might be revealed in the fandisc sequel.
Did they ever explain the violent outings of Touka? Everyone was always confused when you're confronting her about it, saying that they never heard her say such a thing. Was it just to reinforce that his drug habit was bad before the twist that his drugs wasn't bad after all?
I hope Natsumi was meant as the main heroine because i felt there was none other than her that i could choose for the first playthrough (I guess the main heroines would be Natsumi or Eri, but still prefer Natsumi from the backstory and how she waited in absolute sorrow and despair for 7 long years for your return). Gripping story and lovable heroine, indeed. Hoping the fandisc doesn't soil the splendid ending.

Clannad/LB spoilers:
I pretend that timeloop with the bus never existed - or was a bad dream formed by his anxiety at the realization of what awaited him after leaving the false world. If I don't pretend the "loop" was in fact the first try, I get really cranky. lol.
Clannad already gave me the middle finger with that time travel b.s. A great story ruined with that final two minutes...
I'm apart of the crowd that feels the power to overcome loss is more important then "rewinding time" as if loss never happened. For example, If they changed the ending so that Ushio didn't pass out/die near the end, and Tomoya and her moved on into happier times - that would have been the perfect finish. Sad that Nagisa isn't there - but that's how life goes sometimes - as most of the after story tries to teach Tomoya.
That, and it could have been a possible future with Kyou (being Ushios teacher)
showing that you can find love again, even if/when one suffers loss.God what a bad post to screw up the spoiler tags on lol, hopefully I was quick enough in fixing the tags before someone read it~
The time loop was really stupid and made absolutely no sense, but i didn't mind as long as the ending was happy. I had only just finished Rewrite and Eden* so you can say there was a gaping hole in my soul at then, and damn does it feel good to have a happy ending after reading such VN's.

I'm appalled at the reception of Rewrite and Tera...
While a happy end would have been enjoyable, the bitter sweet ending is what made the Tera route amazing for me. I'm a huge sucker for self sacrifice and Kotarou sacrificed EVERYTHING for Humanity. Kagari is what made the route less enjoyable for me. She is just feels like a catalyst for things rather than an actual piece of the story.
Little Busters and its ending: Pretty spoilerific so take care.
How is it not a good ending? Through the world Kyousuke and co created, Riki became mentally strong enough to handle reality and saved them all. There was no time loop crap. The accident happened, then events we saw in the VN happened while Riki and Rin were unconcious. Kyousuke kept trying to make Riki and Rin mentally stronger and crossed a line Kengo didn't agree with. Shit happens. Riki proves that he is strong enough. Kyousuke lets them out of the world, back to reality. Riki and Rin, now mentally strong enough to handle the accident, save everyone. Happy end.
MikeY91, what exactly didn't you like about Little Busters? I find it extremely hard to recommend Rewrite to you if you didn't enjoy Little Busters. The humor in Rewrite is probably more widely appealing, but being both Key works, the similarity in style isn't avoidable.
Also, Little Busters was average for me until I knew the whole story. Then the novel became amazing in my eyes. That's probably why some people are calling it a masterpiece. People who didn't like it at first, likely won't put in the time to get to the final route. This is probably why there are extremes with the reception of Little Busters. Which is completely reasonable but thats why I tell people to stick with it.

well she was in the sky but also in the girls that were reincarnated in the earth at the same time...how it was possible, beats me. I think michiru was just a tiny part of a wish from kanna's wing or soul i dont know anymore

if you want a vn about apocalypse then read swan song not steins;gate, also rewrite is really bad handling that topic...
misuzu had kanna's soul inside her but it was too big to handle for her body because she wasnt a winged girl to begin with like kanna was or some bs like that
and sooner or later she was going to die in the same way 50-40 other girls before her did, i really dont know anymore the plot was so weird and nonsense -
Haven't read Swan song, but i think the scenario sounds completely outlandish. Some earthquake rocks a city or something and total anarchy reigns in the aftermath and no interventions from other areas or cities?

Rewrites common route sure as hell is an endurance test. Little busters was much better in this regard. Long common route as well, but the characters and humor was fantastic. Can't say the same for Rewrite.
I'm pretty sure it wasnt a flash back, it was after misuzu died, it was like she and yukito were the two kids (the re-incarnation of both of them) saying that
Haven't read the VN, only watched the anime and it's been a while. But when the kids said those things, both Yukito and Mizusu sat on the top of the beach watching. In any case. I can buy Kanna reincarnating, but Yukito is only a human, and how could his soul be multiple places at the same time? I don't know if it's too far out there to think that Kanna could have more than one incarnation at the same time. Mizusu's soul was only a droplet of Kannas entire soul if i recall correctly.

If there was a raid boss in Rewrite then it would be humanity itself. But wasn't the message that it was ok if you ruin the planet, just make sure you'll be able to go elsewhere when it happens? I think it sounds fucked up, but it was what i got out of the ending.

To be honest the plot seems to be written by a guy of greenpeace or a kid...that's why I don't really like rewrite except for kotori's route and chihaya <3 even if her route sucks really bad...
so why the 2 kids at the end say that a cruel fate was awaiting them? they are referring to the re-incarnation cycle thing...which turned everything that misuzu did into nothing...

That escaped me as well to be honest. They only spoke about dwindling natrual resources etc as far as i remember and that the planet would be irradiated most likely from a nuclear war.

well that's why I said for me it wasnt a happy ending maybe it was but i just didnt like it, I believe that the orbs things in clannad were better than the time loop thing, rewrite I think definitely doesnt have a happy ending in fact I think rewrite sucks overall(the plot in general is really stupid) except for kotori's route which i really liked it. Planetarian is utsuge so you can imagine how it ends, air mmm i cant really tell if it was sad or not, did they stop the cycle or not..did kanna stop suffering, there are a lot of theories but i still cant tell which one is the real one so I can't tell because the ending was really weird..I cant remember about kanon I have to play it again xD and i still need to read tomoya after but i dont think they have sad endings.

planetarian doesnt have a happy ending, little buster or rewrite either (at least for me this 2 dont have a happy ending).
steins;gate, you should play that one if you enjoyed cross channel, i dont think you will enjoy rewrite considering you didnt like little busters, if you like global warming stuff then play rewrite..

What do you mean by little busters not having a good ending? In the end they pulled some time loop crap and made it so that Riki was strong enough to handle the accident so that they all survived. I mean, there is a chance he created his own world just like Kyouske did, but there is no evidence to support it so the time loop crap is more likely. If i were to complain about the ending it would be the no chosen girl, slice of life ending. But i chose to believe that Rin or Kurugaya ending as the true ending. For a drama/romance heavy VN, such an ending as no chosen girl is pretty ridiculous

As i've said before, i do think rewrite had an inappropriate unhappy ending which leaves a sour aftertaste after spending so many hours reading. Tennouji only wanted to have friends, living a normal life and in the end was the only one who was unable to, and on top of that, the girls didn't remember him and wanted to use him as a slave, and if that wasn't bad enough, he wasn't able to meet Moon Kagari due to the Moons condition.. I do love nakige with fantastic reunions and happy endings after something has happened, but utsuge and the likes is not for me. I guess it depends on how you look at it how you define this ending.

Rewrite certainly fits the description. Though be warned that the writing and direction is really inconsistent. It has a really great soundtrack as well if.

Key vn's usually have somewhat of a happy true ending. Air is the only i can think of that doesn't.

Well, the VN is interesting for sure. My biggest gripe is the heroines. Sacchi was a complete bitch until the final moments of her chapter. In the middle of Toukas chapter now and it's painfully obvious she's in love with her father. Well well, how am i supposed to be interested in choosing her if her route will partly be about making her snap out of her infatuation with her father? Well, it's either that or mental issues this chapter will be about. Clearly she's suffering from something. Natsumi have the badge of a slut if i didn't misunderstand the badges meaning. But i think something is off about the whole thing, so i won't be surprised if it was forced on her or something like that. But she seems somewhat interested in Sepia though (which might be a problem for parts of her chapter as MC can't reveal his true name) Man, nice story, but for romancing girls it's completely uninteresting so far.
And then we have Sepia himself. I'm seriously just waiting for the other shoe to drop with that guy. VN shoves him in your face all the time and MC says he's mysterious and that he can't figure him out. If he turns into some surprise villain then the writers have done a terrible job.

Is it so that it doesn't really matter which heroine you choose? No heroine paths of any kind? If so, does that mean the heroine path is included in the main storyline in the form of dating etc?
Edit: Damn this VN seems stupid. At least now in the beginning. MC is a complete jackass and girls with obligation signs are basically nothing but slaves.

After thinking about it. Actually didn't Rewrite have at least one good ending? Akari and kotarou was trapped inside a pocket dimension on their ending which existed outside time and space. Doesn't that account for at least 1 ending that didn't turn to complete shit in this VN? Honestly think the true ending was as cruel as they come even though they tried to dress it as pretty as they could in the end

Protip: Don't read this fandisc if you are a non-harem and vanilla purist. I noticed that a bunch of our users were really bothered by that. Furthermore, even more people are bothered by the fact that it's heavy on porn, but seriously, what do you expect from FANDISCs at this point?
I don't even know what the forced social commentary was all about, because I started to skip it after I realized that this would be going on for atleast 15 more minutes. *snore*

I kind of like it, but i won't read the fan disc as it sounds utterly stupid. Forced Polyamory and Puchin liking Yukino just as much as you and inviting her into your relationship. No thanks, after playing the first game and the lovable atmosphere (although they could have spared the sex addict act) and all that crap they went trough and then suddenly Yukino is inserted into the relationship and Puchin is liking her as much as you?! as a reader it feels something like betrayal. I guess i like normal relationships. Well, if it was just a threesome then i wouldn't mind.

I just read up a bit. Seems like it's 50 years after the first game and it's about children of the first game's characters etcetc. If that's the only big thing, and it's a generally bad VN then i'll just try out the second

As for similar ones.... Off the top of my head, Da Capo 2 would be a close match for the feeling and style.

Just finished the main routes. Only Mare left. Mare's route been pretty messed up so far.
I can say i actually liked all routes. Well, the ending of Komomo annoyed me a bit. Almost like she's just as into her sister as you. I half expected Kosame to end that way, certainly not the other way around. Aoi was a bit too emo for my tastes also, but i liked how it progressed nearing the end. I also did find it weird how none reacted negatively to the incest relationship with Chinami, but it was a good route.
Yumi was a bit too dramatic, and she pissed me off with her big sister attitude more than once. I was thrown back when she didn't accept the confession after having sex. Why did she act so affectionate the day after when she didn't want to be in a relationship? I'd expect her to regret and distance herself, but that was not the case. I was pretty confused. but it had a happy or bittersweet end, depending on your view. If i understood the ending correctly, Mare gave You powers to create a whatsitsname so Yumi became the same as Kosame. Was a bit annoying how they made Mare their daughter, and she only acted affectionate towards Yume though. But i guess it's unknown if she had her memories when she was reborn or if she just grew up again with the same personality traits.
Edit: Can't say i'm satisfied with the conclusion though. They set up Yume as the destined heroine, and kept teasing us each playthrough with a small scene just to take a dump on it at the end. Mare is a loli so i can't rightly say that the end felt satisfactory, but i just love the voice actor's job and her charming personality.

Edit: Little did i know that Mare was actually the true ending. Just read the fandisc sequel summary and i must say i feel a bit sorry for yume. As before, i don't rightly feel THAT sorry for her since she was a complete bitch towards You during her route. She was somewhat of a tease and lead him on until she completely rejected him, and did the same damn thing just twice as bad yet again. But still she had feelings for him since she was a small child and he was snatched away like that and on top of it all, she was being teased by Mare about it multiple times. It was kind of cruel. But as far as i know, that storyline hasn't passed the sickly Yune stage so her being halfassed about You again if she won him back wouldn't be acceptable. And i'm half way wondering why she hasn't died yet, as she did so during her route.

I don't remember them being that bad to be honest. Kosame does act like a tease, but typically any character with that type of personality will act shy around the person they like or whatever, it happens a lot. If you want extremely lewd h-scenes you're better off looking for other games. Favorite games never really do more than 2-3 scenes per heroine and they never really get too overly fetishy like other games do. They also follow a similar pattern for the most part. You'll notice the first scene always begins with the undressing CGs with a really sweet BGM, panties are almost always either white or stripped (white is supposed to be the least lewd color). They're formulaic, but it's because they purposely want the scenes to come off like that, not because they're lazy.

I can't do anything but laugh at the H-scenes. Every heroine thus far has been acting exactly identical. Thought Kosame would be the most lewd, but in the end she was just as innocent as the others i've done. Wish they would either drop these scenes if they only copy paste some hentai scenario and edit for this game or use their head and write a proper scene with the heroines personality in mind so that it doesn't just look like some crap reward which they spent 10 minutes editing from something else.

Muv luv is a 3 part series, and i would be crushed by the ending of alternate. I won't even touch it. I haven't read up on spoilers, but i've seen so many people being absolutely gutted by it.
