I agree! I hoped that there was a mistake with her birthdate and they somehow pushed her back one year, but it didn't happen :/ Well, she gets a continuation route anyway, and with a title such as w happiness i guess it's going to be a happy ending!

  2. Just finished D2b vs Deardrops

It was a nice conclusion i guess. Kira and Shikanosuke had a happy ending i guess, although i cannot understand why they want to marry and live seperately most of the time, but they had good chemistry throughout the vn. Riho and Shouchi on the other hand have a worthless excuse of a relationship. There was barely anything romantic between them, there was the one time in the buss near the start and it was of course interrupted, and never really touched upon again. She had more interractions with Shikanosuke, so if i didn't already know that there wouldn't be any cheating, i would feel pretty uncomfortable. Shouchi said he loved her again, but she reacted pretty badly and once she said something it was "us" as in the band and nothing about him after his re-confession, and nothing in her thoughts (she was the protagonist during the scene) hinted at any romantic feelings either. We only got that from her somewhat submissive reactions after Shouchi said something, but that was it. In the end i guess Overdrive meant for them to be a couple, but honestly, they only felt like really, really good friends. Pretty disappointingly handled after the great ending Kira and Shikanosuke had.
  3. geezus I didnt even realize the date. why do people necropost? lol....

It's a thread about kirakira in general. There is no place more fitting to discuss it. Or would you rather have a duplicate thread?

Anyway, best girl Aki doesn't have a route :(

Edit: How do i unlock Kira's good ending? Just did the normal ending, and following a walkthrough i was supposed to basically repeat the same process but i still get the normal/bad ending.

Edit 2: Found out it was the true ending i had to play. Well, it was an awesome read, but i guess more or less every ending were a bit open and unsatisfactory.

  4. There is one thing i've found puzzling in multiple vn's. This vn for example has 3 girls and 1 guy, obviously. But when they head to sleep it's always explicitly stated how male is sleeping on his own as if to not make the readers misunderstand the situation. Is this some serious taboo thing they try to avoid at all costs, or perhaps self insert chivalry? I understand how girls might not want to sleep in the same room as a guy (although they sure didn't seem to mind in this vn), but it's the statement each time is what i find puzzling. Would be utterly cowardly to do this because of some silly taboo thing, as i value creative freedom pretty high.

But man, that was one hell of an inconclusive ending for Sarina. I really enjoyed the route though, but when they have routes that doesn't matter in the whole picture i'd wish for them to have a really conclusive ending. I thought it was going to be darker as i heard this VN was pretty dark in places, but for all i know, that's bad endings. I usually just skip those. An epilogue would be a nice touch i guess, since their future is pretty unstable.

This VN certainly doesn't want anyone to stay together. Chie route foreshadowing a breakup since chie asked how long they were going to stay together, as well since they were both so uncertain about their relationship.

Wish Mangagamer would have been a bit more serious with the translation of this VN. So many small errors and some sentences you had to reread a few times and hope you actually understood it. You don't always know what is thoughts or what is actually said, as dialogues sometimes lack quotation marks, so it can be a bit confusing. Especially when it's a long drivel of thoughts, so you don't know when he actually started talking.

Well, other than the protag being one of the biggest worrywarts i've seen in a while, this vn and route was pretty damn entertaining.

  5.

Decided to try Kirakira and holy shit it's awesome. I love it. Made by the same company as Deardrops, and it makes me wonder where it all went wrong for Deardrops. Deardrops is pretty lackluster in most areas in comparison. Well, apart from characters. But it's still way too early to judge Kirakira's characters. Kirakira has a much more livelier style, and at least this far we have music that fits each scenario whereas Deardrops went with normal background music apart from a select few scenes. Anyways, glad i chose to start reading this one! pretty hilarious when they started becoming punk rockers!

Well, the bad thing that i guess many will agree on is the text covering the entire screen instead of a normal box at the bottom. Shame they went with that style, also the darkened background that comes with it. Well, i guess i've somewhat gotten used too it. It's my first vn with this style all the way through.

Want to have this one as unspoiled as possible. but i heard curtain call got a pretty chilled reception. Without spoiling anything in particluar, what's the reason? and would it be bad to start d2b vs deardrops without first reading curtain call?

  6. Crap, did not think about spoilers. My fault. Anyway, thanks for the explanation. I guess it's a more or less good ending for the fandisc. I guess i'll just finish Deardrops and stop there since i won't read Kirakira, so i don't mind spoilers for the fandisc.

Do the fandisc evade the topic of relationships or do they build more on it and still have a relationship at the end? And when you say Deardrops got a 2 gigs and a European tour, this includes Shouici in the party as well right?
  7.

Thanks for the explanations. I was concerned about the departure of Shouichi at the end of Deardrops, and i was hoping he came back in the fandisc and continued with the band and stuck with Riho, but i guess that's not what happens at the end? If not, that's kind of depressing, especially if he left for Germany again after the fandisc. I do know he comes back, after 3 years if i'm not mistaken. I see not merit in cheering on Shouichi in Germany when the vast majority of the VN is about his love for the band and Riho. Always disliked when endings are about departure and living separately.

  8. I'll admit to being hasty in my judgements and also rambling a bit, but you can honestly be a bit nicer about complaining about it. Anyway, you mentioned that it's kirakiras urgently needed ending, does it do justice to deardrops as well? Pointless to read it if it's mostly about the vn of the two i chose not to read.

  9. For those who've finished this vn, is it important to finish kirakira for it? I'm almost done with Deardrops, but i cannot get into the concept of kirakira. Can't say i enjoy the thought about reading about some crossdresser, and the art is also kind of a turnoff. I guess it depends on how big a role and how much the crossdressing part is throughout the vn. If you're constantly crossdressing or if the vn tries to trick you into thinking you're a girl for 20+ hours then i won't even bother. I've had deardrops ending spoiled, so i guess it's no wonder that i want to jump into the fandisc. Shitty ending is indeed shitty.

  10. Well, just finished Kaede's route so i guess i have a bit more insight.

I'll admit the characters became somewhat better in a route, but i expected that. But holy shit what an insurmountable amount of drama that appeared during the route. Most of it felt really, really forced. Confession and sex scene were pathetic. He confessed in a not so traditional way, and had sex a few minutes later. Sex scene cg's were really dull and the only featured severely deformed vagina due to penetration (not playing for these scenes, but i like it when they're good anyway), and Kanade wasn't even a virgin, which really surprised me based on what type of person she is. Tag on vndb must be wrong. The route ending was pretty damn weak as well. They didn't want to play together for who the heck knows what reason, and just hoped they weren't separated even though they were in love.

  11. best girl regrettably has a route thats even shorter than the piece of poop i produce when non eating for 3-4days... sad world we living in

I guess best girl is pretty subjective, but i like Kanade best to be honest. She's sweet and caring, as well as showing affection. Rimu is way too childish, and Yayoi is pretty annoying, Riho is way too stiff and i can't say that i give a crap about her at this point (i'm at the point where i made the last choice in the vn).

  12. About to finish the common route now, i guess. I'll admit she's better now that i understand her more. Protag is perhaps the absolute densest protagonist i've encountered in a vn yet. Holy shit what a worthless pile of shit. Absolutely no redeeming traits. He barely thinks for himself, others characters dictate how he thinks about everything, and he is completely oblivious to every damn advance by girls regardless how obvious it is. And his overly humble attitude makes me sick. I can't identify with him in the slightest.  While the plot is interesting and i look forward to how they progress as a band, the worthless protagonist most certainly drags it down.

  13. I hate common routes in general. I haven't really read that many vn's but character traits in common routes are identical in more or less every vn i've read. Indecisiveness, secrets, stalling. Girls show affection, but doesn't do anything about it regardless how much time the common route lasts in days/weeks/months and protagonist wouldn't even understand a girl liking him even if she undressed and jumped him. Common routes are good for advancing the story i guess, but for character traits, it's absolute garbage that doesn't add up when you enter a route and everybody pretty much change in a flash.

I guess Canvas 2 had the worst heroine routes i've read though. Protag only figured out he liked a girl the last few minutes or so in the heroine routes.

  14. I'm going to wager you'll see your opinion change by end of the route.

Common route or Riho's route route? And you mean my opinion of Riho or protag?

I won't ever change my opinion on the protag, i think.

The last bit of his raisin sized balls just up and left when he left the bus because he had to sleep besides a girl. Common routes are the absolute worst parts of reading vn's.

  15. Deardrops is a mixed bag for me. I do like it, but it's not without it's fault. Mind you, i have really just started with it.

Protagonist started somewhat strong, but became pretty weak minded once other characters were introduced. Typical nonsense you see in the common routes. Main character must be more or less asexual, he must be stirred by every critique and take it as gods word (just a saying) regardless what it's about, must apologize and feel that he have wronged people who have been complete jackasses towards him for absolutely no reason, and worst was when he noticed his friend in the audience and became 190% useless. World class violinist my ass.

I need to congratulate the writers of making the absolute worst heroine the true route. Holy shit what a vile bitch. Initially i thought he must have broken some promise when he was last in town, but that doesn't add up. He would have either recognized her face or her name, but no. So the only conclusion must be that she's a fan, and crushed by whatever it was that made the protagonist screw up in Germany. And that does not excuse her behaveour. Looking forward to see how she makes up for the way she is behaving, but i'm afraid she'll just silently change as to avoid having a heroine going through critizism and hardships.

  16. Just finished the vn, and i must say it was a pretty good read. Sadly nothing really surprised me. While i didn't exactly know who was the culprit, i was always waiting for the other shoe to drop with certain characters based on their looks, voices and behaveour. So when things were revealed i felt i knew it coming. Ryoichi and Nana was the only ones that really surprised me i guess. And i just want to point out that the protagonist was completely worthless. waited for Nana to really step in and try to ruin it for you. And the fighting scenes were pretty silly, especially the twists. And i can't help but wonder why they wrote in Kazuna as a top actress and had her leave at the end. Was utterly pointless and didn't add or substract in any manner to the story, it was just a device to not have a too happy ending. Lol at her wanting Shougo not to cheat, i think he should be more worried in the environment she'll be exposed to

:P The temporary separation at the end thing utterly overused.
  17. What an aggravatingly stupid protagonist. I wonder how he ever became a detective with deductive skills in the minus. Only time he wasn't dumb as a sack of bricks was when he had voice acting and was confronting that art teacher which i don't recall the name of. Then he was suddenly given a personality that doesn't just stay silent or agree and take to heart every single thing people tell him. I guess i should try grisaia for the next vn, hear the protagonist is pretty good in that one.
