  1. Today's trivia: Did you know, the first animal in space was the female Samoyed husky named Laika, launched by the Soviets in 1957?
  2. Happy day of your births: MrRin, brawlbankai, sarayne, demazgunii, megane-fudanshi!
  3. you throw those stinking socks to some random guys. After that they ...
  4. Ah, this clears up the matter. Basically I'm asking about the "separate program to run Ren'Py VNs on android" not building a Ren'Py VN for android. Can you mention those decent free softwares?
  5. I guess the lack of votes for Sasami, Kanata, and Saya is mainly because much of the voters haven't played the EX yet. You definitely should play EX to understand their charm. If you're impatient to wait for the english patch, you could try watching the anime (I know it's a different experience from playing the VN but at least you get the general idea).
  6. PS: Why is this a thread Nice info. Well, it's undeniable that Google has an enormous impact on our lives, I have no complaint about them changing their logo. I'm still curious about their four colour resemblance to Windows' logo though.
  7. I'm sorry I'm rather dumb about building Ren'Py android package thingies. Can you give me an easy-to-understand explanation about the "package" and "launcher" you mentioned? Is the "package" or "launcher" the same with the apk I could download from this site:http://www.renpy.org/dl/android? I want to try checking Ren'Py VNs on my phone. I know hot to get the files from the rpa though.
  8. From what I can see, the problem's main cause is probably an incompatible display adapter problem. Check this requirements before playing the game: (taken from steam's page) System Requirements MINIMUM: OS: Microsoft Windows XP SP3/Vista/7/8 Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz or higher Memory: 1 GB RAM Graphics: Shader Model 2.0 or higher with a maximum texture size of 4096 or higher, DirectX 9 GPU with 8-bit α-texture support, support with limitation or support for textures that are not exponentiations of 2 RADEON X series or higher (Excluding X1200 series) GeForce 6000 series or higher Intel 965 chip set or higher (GMA X3000 and up) VRAM 256MB Hard Drive: 3.5 GB available space Additional Notes: An environment that can display at least 1280×720 pixels RECOMMENDED: OS: Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8 Graphics: AMD RADEON HD or higher nVidia GeForce 200 or higher Intel HD graphics or higher *Experience Index 3.7 or higher recommended Hard Drive: 3.5 GB available space Additional Notes: *Netbooks and nettops that use atom are not supported. *When using display adaptors that share main memory, the game may not work. *We do not guarantee that this game will run on virtual drives or Virtual PCs (including Apple Boot Camp). *This product uses Ogg Vorbis/Lua/tilua++.
  9. As far as I know, this game doesn't have an android port (yet). The kirikiri engine used to build the game is tricky one to port. If I'm not mistaken, there is an app called Habakiri to play kirikiri VNs on android.
  10. What do you mean by JASTUSA version being unofficial? The walkthrough on the wiki actually works for the official JASTUSA version. Quoted from the site, "The text on this flowchart completely matches with the official JAST translation and has been tested, so there should be no problems." My guess is that you didn't choose the previous "scientist" or "bad scientist" or both.
  11. I intentionally omit that option for a reason. I think you know it.
  12. Oh, really? Then maybe I get the wrong idea? I see this site: http://www.renpy.org/dl/android mentioning that RenPyforAndroid-6.13.7.1-release.apk (released on 19-Oct-2011 02:04) as the last version available to download. If the development is still continued, where can I get the latest APK?
  13. Yeah I know, it's just that dual booting can help you avoid reinstallation when you have some problems with the OS itself. I guess it's for brevity/simplicity that Japanese Supplemental Fonts aren't pre-installed on Windows 10. I don't know if it's actually the same as "installing" the font on Windows, but on Mac, you could just copy the missing font to [HardDskVolume]\Library\Fonts or [userAccount]\Library\Fonts. On Windows, it's C:\Windows:\Fonts. As far as I know, installing a font is the same as putting the font into the font folder.
  14. It depends on the VNs, some of them are able to be played at 1680 x 1050, some of them have specific maximum resolution (it could be 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1280p, 1360p, 1680p), some of them will have the same largeXwidth regardless of your resolution. If you set your screen resolution bigger than the VN's maximum resolution, as XionsProphecy-san said, you'll get a stretched image, or a black box around the image, or an entirely black/white screen. To avoid resolution problems, it's better to play VNs windowed not fullscreen. If you want fullscreen (or the game only wants to be played fullscreen), make sure your screen resolution doesn't exceed the VN's maximum resolution.
  15. A more safe way to get the font, get it from C:/Windows:/Fonts on your Windows 7 (or your friend's PC if he/she has the font) . It's always a good idea to have dual OS/multiple OS on your startup if your PC is capable, when you get a problem on one OS, you can check it on the other(s) OS without the need to reinstall/upgrade/downgrade.
  16. I see many people vote for Kud. I know she's adorable, but I wonder what's the difference among cute, nice, sweet, lovely, and adorable.
  17. The title is quite self-explanatory. I wonder if Ren'Py for android's development is discontinued. If it really is, it's quite unfortunate for some people prefer playing VNs on their smart phones/tabs. Ren'Py is a quite popular engine for VN making and android is the most popular OS for smart phones/tabs. Given how Ren'Py VNs system requirements are not very demanding, it's a great experience to play them on smart phones/tabs. Even though some problems often occur during porting them to android or when playing them, some of these problems's solutions have been found. The easy example is Katawa Shoujo port (http://pastebin.com/ZyRkVY5W). It can even play videos now. Some problems still do occur for some people playing it, but overall it works fine on android.
  18. You are't missing anything, since as far as I know a VN named Muv Kuv Alternative doesn't exist. If I have to ignore your typo, it's another matter. It's quite a masterpiece (some people said, not me). Its story and development is wonderful (some people said).
  19. I guess it's a little late for me to say this, but Google has changed its logo for some reasons I don't know. Maybe some of you know? What's your opinion about the change?
  20. The idea behind this thread is simple. It's just that sometimes many people often ask for help for any troubles/problems occurred during playing games/softwares in online forums, which most of the times the solutions/troubleshootings are listed on the readme/manual/help included. Had they read the readme/manual before using the software, they would not have to ask other people. A readme/manual usually mentions these: System Requirements Warranty/License agreement (or you can find this during the installation) "Thanks for buying" message Overview of the game/software Basic explanation of the menus/tabs/buttons FAQs Support contact Strangely, despite the important informations given in a readme/manual, many people seems to ignore it. Surely they can get many advices/helps to their problems online. But I think it's more wise if we read the readme/manual before using the software. Some softwares maybe doesn't include a readme/manual in its purchase/download package so they have to search online for help though.
  21. Hmm, by cute you mean just their looks or +personalities/habits? I wonder why Saya is not on the list. She's the epitome of tsundere in LB!
