    Japan!

Hey guys... I think we don't understand each other... with the statement "in Europe we have only two kinds of tea" I did not mean it literally. I meant that people have no deeper knowledge and it's normal not to distinguish other kinds. Of course you can find these on shelves labeled as white or red and when people buy these, and you come pay them a visit they still ask you "Do you want green or black tea?". And someone stated that you certainly can buy tea labeled as Japanese tea in your country. Hell yeah, except that they all taste the same wheter they are from Russia or Japan. I've heard that tea has green tea can have plenty of different flavors. I even went to tea shop in here and I've been treated with only two species of Jp tea, both of which were same like stuff in malls. Now ... I know that I may be overestimating things, but I've read multiple times, that no good teas are exported from China/Japan. And that makes lots of sense to me to be honest. You won't find much demand for more expensive teas here, given that most of people will be satisfied with whatever tea they see in the mall. That's why I am asking, if anyone, while being in Japan, got nicely startled with the quality of tea they bought, or even better got into a habit of drinking it. =]

    Japan!

Actually I have some basic knowledge... Japanese when they think of the, they think of green. We in Europe by default think of black. And now so everyone knows, in western world (Europe, US etc) term black tea means something literally different than in Eastern world (China, Japan, India, Sri-lanka (old Ceylon)). In western world we have only two kinds of tea: Green and Black and basically whatever gives us a dark liquid is called black tea. (that's whey they export shit to us, cause we have no knowledge whatsoever). In eastern world however these terms are more precise and so is the color spectrum... but perhaps in order to let you fully understand the categorization I shall first explain how does this all actually happen... so here is short story not bore you: So yeah. You can see I am quite a geek in that matter. Personally, if it's by any chance possible, I'd pay someone to send me some superior tea straight from Japan. But I will be happy enough just to hear your self-experienced opinion. ) PS: About tea bags... many people look down on tea-bags as a sign of shitty/dubious quality. Of course it's handy if you're going on some trip then sure tea bags come handy. But hey, why would one chop up the leave into pieces and hide it inside some fancy bag... is it cause they are shit quality?
  3. Almost everything has been mentioned here... My favorite : G-senjou's "close your eyes" but the deardrops songs are also nice, very energetic. I've been actually looking around and I can't find the lyrics for these anywhere (Deardrops). Any chance some fuwauser has them and is willing to share? )
  4. Ummm. Yeah. I can tell you it's slowly progressing. I'm myself on the novel management part, you will be able to put VNs in groups, like on VNDB (read, finished etc) and that will trigger some conditional formatting (which will be customizable) on AllNovels list. Actuallly... it's almost done. I am just polishing the details, I won't post pictures though until it's done. I should also mention that we've already managed to shrink the application size back to normal. We don't really have a strict plan though. We have split the work for everyone and right now our conversation on forum is quiet. Which is probably good, means everyone is working at his own pace. Nethertheless, like stated in the beta-release post, we shall add some minor vndb integration and skinning feature sometime later and after that... we'll probably say it's done (unless some new ideas will pop up). When it's done on windows, we might attempt to make something similar for Android, but don't get your hopes too high.

    Japan!

Ok it's my turn to ask B) I know that Japan is the country of teaism and with a very long tea-drinking history. Since tea is my favorite drink, I've always been curious wheter what everyone says: "East exports only crap to Europe, because westerners just don't care", "Japan keeps the best tea for themselves", is true. Do you guys really find the tea there, better and tastier than this Lipton or any other european brands I have over here?
  6. Well yeah. Certainly our app would be rendered useless if only the website provided such browsing utilities. But because this is not the case and we're not responsible for the website, we've decided to create our own app
  7. Fuck it if they rolled back a little bit. Thank god that all the torrents are back

    Hearthstone

The dream is not something hard... did it few times, once without any legendary/epic card. Feel free to add me Kreweta#2243 , but I doubt I will play it much more. I've actually uninstalled it since it was too damn slow (retards should just concede when they are losing), but maybe I will change my mind one day.
  9. If you can't log in despite putting in the right username/password then problem lies somewhere in Fuwanovel API... Can't really solve this issue, we'd have to contact administrator and have him help us find out the problem. We'll certainly try to solve this before next release, but for now, can't do anything.
  10. Thank you It'd be much appriciated if you blog about it, the more users the better.
  11. Okay, the time has finally come. Me, Ilegend and Kuky_nekoi are happy to announce the: FuwanViewer 2.0 - beta release (To run, just download .zip file, extract is somewhere and run .exe file in it) (In case you get an error, make sure you have .NET Framework 4.5 installed, here is download link) FuwanViewer still serves it's main purpose - i.e. give you a better overview and smooth up browsing Fuwanovel.org collection. In the current state, we haven't added any outstanding functionality, but in the current state you can: browse all novels, in a handy DataGrid with some basic information and preview, inspect a visual novel in detail, i.e. get simlar view as on fuwanovel website, filter results by company name, tags and some other conditions. Here are some screenshoots: As for requirements: windows vista/7/8 .NET Framework 4.5 probably around 128MB RAM to run smoothly Yup, no windows XP. That's because Windows XP can't run .NET Framework 4.5 (at least from what I know). However, if some of you guys really want it on XP, we might do the migration to .NET 4.0 later. Known issues: We're aware that it's not everything works as it should. Here are some issues we're aware of and will be fixed in next bigger release: Your password is not safe, it's really easy to find since we didn't do any encrypting and such. So umm... if you have some viruses, beware Featured novels misses scroll bar, oh well... images are popping up in some annoying fashion,(it's not an issue, we just wanted to annoy you), Application size is stupid big, that's due to some development pieces (such as design time support) being compiled and never really used in the app itself. Sorry, bad design by me there. Planned features: Some of the features that we want in final version are: storing user related informations (read/finished/ignored novels), extending VisualNovel data with information from vndb.org, theming/skinning feature, so that you may alter the app view in some minor ways. About feedback: If you guys manage to find some action that crushes the app and is not stated in known issues, feel free to respond in this topic. Also, if you happen to have some nice idea for another feature that we could implement, let us know and we'll certainly consider it. ========================================================= We're all hoping that you guys will find this application useful and with it's aid you'll find some perfect novels for yourselves and avoid the creepy ones.
  12. Allright... fuck this. Now i am following this topic -.-
  13. So far Utawarerumono, Fate/Stay Night, G-senjou no Maou, Kira Kira. Some visual novels however, get me irritated with how the plot develops, e.g. in Muv-Luv Alternative Myself, just like Katasumuri , I came to realization that and I hope I will find many more that will make me cry again
  14. I always try to make it so that, once a week, I can spend half a day reading them. Typically in the afternoon-evening period, for like ~5 hours or so. I am more careful with VNs, since last time I read G-senjou I spent whole weekend reading it and that had some bad consequences the next day.
  15. God damn it, I am too late -.-
  16. Alright, no biggie. I bet in a week or two weeks tops, we shall post some fully functional version. There are still features we want to add, but we can do it later in form of an update.
  17. Yup. Thats just what I needed. Thank you for that. I actually noticed it didn't work and wanted to let you know after I finish coding this part, but it's even better that I didn't have to )
  18. Cheers. I appriciate that my feedback is taken into account.
  19. Hello there again, So I did this thing called "feel the love and write some code" and here are my thoughts about API so far: 1. First, I have rather simple question. What are these fields for: images>featured, site_flags>active, site_flags>featured, tl_flags>donations. I didn't really get their meaning... 2. Another minor thing ... I noticed some sort of inconsistency with few fields. Both items: egs and vntls contain an link item, while there is another item later named links. Imho, it would be more consistent to move links to links item and leave the other childs (score, votes, etc.) in coresponding egs and vntls. I mean, they still make sense and so on, but it might get tricky later if there would be more links later. 3. I also noticed redundancy, in dates item. Right now we're sending dates together with time, but time as I've seen is always 00:00:00. Its only few bytes in every time, but why not use date type instead (ISO8601: YYYY-MM-DD)? 4. In torrent field, there is a size item. And it really suprised me that it is not an int, but string, and that I will have to do conversion later to enable sorting ). If it wouldn't be much of a problem, I'd prefer if API would return size in some units, e.g. KBs. 5. And at last, the thing that has been bugging me most. The field texts>team, in all honesty, in current form doesn't come quite useful. It's form is not specified and it is, just as it says, "text" with just anything there... team members, group name, requests for more members... I do realize it is quite a bit of work, but I believe it would be worth it as well, to create a more approperiate struct for it. I guess, people after reading some VN would be interested in other projects of same group or translator. Also, by having more approperiate format, we could put emphasis (perhaps by adding some extra formatting) onto the projects that are currently looking for people ) As far as I've thought about it, the struct would look moreless like this: team { name, programmer, editor, translator, missing_members, message } where name is the team name, programmer, editor, translator are arrays with names of group members, missing_members is array with missing members by role (like missing_members []{"programmer", "translator"}) and message is any message from team, e.g. how to contact or homepage link. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats about all I have to say. Everything else is cool and I really like the way FuwanViewer looks with all the data in it. However, I also noticed a problem while debugging and I am not sure whats causing it. I am not too good in all these protocols and stuff, but from time to time when I try to retrieve a WebResponse I get a WebException saying that I can't connect to the remote server and yet when I try again in 1 min, it works just fine. Do you perhaps have some idea, what could possibly be the reason? Cheers, Kreweta
  20. Alrighty! I am gonna spend some evening hours working on that. Give me a week or two before you start working on next version. If I encounter any problems or will have some ideas, I shall let you know by then.
  21. Yup. I can see a lot of data flowing around )) In case someone would like to know how is FuwanViewer progressing, we're at point where old FuwanViewer was (but using WPF). Right now we'll be working on new features... I don't know when we'll be done, but eventuallly it will. We'll not let it die.
  22. Hey Nayleen, Thanks for asking for our wishes, but I am very happy to say... that we don't really have much. About format, I can say that JSON is absolutelly fine with us. I don't see any advantages in using XML. In regards to endpoints... as long as we get a complete list (/api/v1/novels) and detailed VN information (/api/v1/novels/{id}) that will be enough. If I were you, I'd put only Ids in /novels, we'll most likely fetch all the data anyway. One thing that you could add though, is to add Last-modified header to each response, this way we could cut some updates here and there. The users endpoints sounds really cool and we could certainly use that later too.
  23. I bet you can. Sorry for late response, but I didn't get email notification... gotta turn it on again. Send a mail to Ilegend, he's the project leader. We've some skeleton up already, so now it's time to implement fun things. Although, I've started a work recently, on top off attending school, and don't know how much time I will have.
  24. Oooh, I really like your current wallpaper Stanleys. A great piece of art, with dark colors. Myself I love plain dark wallpapers and so I've ended up using this one for over 5 years now and since I do not want to change it ... I guess it has became my favorite :D/>
