Colors and Symbolism

Red and black, the colours of Anarcho-syndicalism. I always loved red. It's the colour of passion; strong emotions of any kind; struggle; and, of course, socialism. Black is the colour of nothing, absence. (In this case, the absence of the state.) These colours, combined so, mean a lot to me and millions others.

My favorite color is Green. I personally like it because it gives me a sense of peace, and calm.. Blue is my second favorite, but I've always liked green because it is also connected to nature and life.

"This is the color of balance and harmony. From a color psychology perspective, it is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart.

From a meaning of colors perspective, green is also the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores depleted energy."

Yeah, colors definitely have different meanings depending on the culture. Red can mean blood in the Western world, but for the Chinese folks, it represents wealth, etc. Conversely, wedding dresses are white in the West, but in Chinese culture, white is worn during funerals.

Anyway, my favorite colors are black and white, if I am allowed to pick two (>w<). I believe in fundamentals rather than flash, and I think black and white represents that :).

Black, Red and Blue are the colours I most like, I do not have a clear favourite, however, I've always liked the combination of Black and Red, It radiates an aura of strenght, power and unity like no other.
Examples of factions who made use of it are the Terran Republic (Planetside 2), Helghast (Killzone) and National Socialist Germany (WW2), they all possess an unique ideology backed up by an powerful military.

I would say black, but that's not a color.

Black nevertheless, because it holds the true concept of absence so well that it's practically the most versatile color out there. It matches with every other color and is composed of none. I just find it to be particularly interesting. It also hides shirt stains and Sam Fisher.

Dont they label black as a shade? Does that make it not a colour?

It's not a color because it gives no visible light spectrum. Color is whatever wavelength of visible light an object doesn't absorb, since black objects absorb visible light of every wavelength then it doesn't have one. Black is the absence of color, very much like cold, which is the absence of heat.

Also since shade is the comparative darkness of a color, black isn't shade either because it isn't a color in the first place. Unless it's a reeaaaally dark variant of another color I guess.

Now that you use science terms, I actually understand. I must not be as dumb as I thought.
