Zero is Akame's back story pretty much but they reveal enough of it in the regular manga so you don't need to read it to understand the current story.

No, it's still on-going, and things are pretty tense right now.

Especially since it's a monthly manga so the waiting is tough.

Read zero only if you like Akame. With 9 chapters out its honetsly not that long.Although chelsea is staring to steal the scene. Shes a character that appears later.

That would make less than zero sense for this manga. Although a scene every now and then is appreciated.

Have you seen the latest episode?

That bedroom scene had some of the best animation, and art in the entire series. Most of the attention was focused on Esdeath 

 

I love me some Esdeath but that's really missing the point of her character.

 

In that same episode where Akame is supposed to smile beautifully at Tatsumi with leaf blowing in the wind, you can tell where the budget was allocated from and to where.

 

Poor Akame, getting shit on in the Manga and now the Anime.

This episode convinced me that the anime is not living up to the manga. If you dont read the manga the anime is great. When you read the manga all you can think is "it was better in the manga." Even the little things they leave out make a huge difference.

I don't think Esdeath will kill Tatsumi, she'll probably abuse her time stop to do something. Not sure what... I just hope it ends with her having Tatsumi's babies <3.
