Well, the gatekeeper of first place, AKA kb_z quit SIF, as the highest rank in the EN version nearly 300.

Last night before going to sleep, I spent a few more FP I earned on JP and got another idolized Yume no Tobira, meaning I have gotten 3 members and idolized 3 members.. w-what?

This is a very nice looking card

Next, the EX schedule is changing on JP and pretty much doubling the amount of time the EX songs are around, all the way through the next event.

The Battle of SRs & Score Ups

No this is not a game, just random math  :makina:

Purpose:

Determine whether whether a 4250 stat, 250 bond unidolized Score Up SR Smile Honoka can earn more points compared to a 4450 stat, 250 bond unidolized Perfect Lock SR Smile Hanayo and a 4760 stat, 500 bond idolized Healer SR Smile Rin.

TL;DR Is a lower stat Score Up card better than a higher stat NON-Score Up card?

Combatants:

Honoka (unidolized)
150px-Honoka_smile_sr107.png
SCORE UP: I'll Eat You Up

For every 12000 points scored, there is a 13% chance of increasing player's score by 920 points. (Level 1)
Level 60: 4250
My team strength with Honoka: 53,404

Hanayo (unidolized)
150px-Hanayo_smile_sr153.jpg
PERFECT LOCK: Visiting the Stalls ♪
For every 26 notes, there is a 28% chance of turning all goods and greats in the next 5 seconds into perfects. (Level 1)
Level 60: 4450
My team strength with Hanayo: 53,640

Rin (idolized)
150px-Rin_smile_sr93_t.jpg
HEALER: Whimsical Kitten
For every 32 notes, there is a 36% chance of recovering player's HP by 4. (Level 1)

Level 80: 4760

My team strength with Rin: 54,256

The Battle:

Selected song: Korekara no Someday[EX]: 487 Notes

*Warning: incoming math*

Formula: Total Points = floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C * T * M)

  • Str = total team strength
  • 0.0125 is the score multiplier constant
  • A is accuracy (1.0x for Perfect, .88x for Great, .80x for Good, etc.) *NOTE: I WILL BE ASSUMING ALL PERFECTS (using 1.0 multiplier only)
  • C is for combo (1.0x for 1-50, 1.1x for 51-100, 1.15x for 101-200, 1.2x for 200-400, 1.25x for 400-600, etc.) *NOTE: This is what makes the math long, since I have to recalculate the each time the combo multiplier scales up
  • T is the type multiplier (1.0x regular notes, 1.25x for hold notes) *NOTE: I will omit this because I have no idea how many hold notes and too lazy to go count.
  • M is the same-attribute multiplier, 1.1x (ie. you get a 1.1x bonus each note for having same-color card hit the note).

Score Calculation Example:

Due to the scaling combo, a typical score calculation for Korekara no Someday [EX] would be as follows:

Total Points = floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C(1.0 for combo 1-50) * T * M)

+ floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C(1.1 for combo 51-100) * T * M)

+ floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C(1.15 for combo 101-200) * T * M)

+ floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C(1.20 for combo 200-400) * T * M)

+ floor(Str * 0.0125 * A * C(1.25 for combo 401-487) * T * M)

Note1: I am omitting T because it's impossible to determine/I don't know how many hold notes there are.

Note2: I am keeping A at 1.0x for simplicity (this means all notes hit are 'Perfect')

Honoka Team (53,404 total stat)

Total Points = (floor(53,404 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.0 *  1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(53,404 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.1 * 1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(53,404 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.15 * 1.1) * 100)

+ (floor(53,404 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.2 * 1.1) * 200)

+ (floor(53,404 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.25 * 1.1) * 87)
= 417,429 (421,109 on average with Honoka Score Up*)

*Factoring in Honoka's Score Up skill:

For every 12,000 points scored, there is a 13% chance of increasing player's score by 920 points. (Level 1)

417,429 / 12,000 = ~ 34 activation chances; with 13% chance activation, on average that will be ~ 4 activation chances, so:

4 * 920 = 3,680

Adjusted Total Points: 417,429 + 3,680 = 421,109

Hanayo Team (53,640 total stat)

Total Points = (floor(53,640 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.0 *  1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(53,640 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.1 * 1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(53,640 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.15 * 1.1) * 100)

+ (floor(53,640 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.2 * 1.1) * 200)

+ (floor(53,640 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.25 * 1.1) * 87)
= 419,327

Rin Team (54,256 total stat)

Total Points = (floor(54,256 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.0 *  1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(54,256 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.1 * 1.1) * 50)

+ (floor(54,256 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.15 * 1.1) * 100)

+ (floor(54,256 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.2 * 1.1) * 200)

+ (floor(54,256 * 0.0125 * 1.0 * 1.25 * 1.1) * 87)
= 424,084

Results:

Stats:
  • Honoka: 4250 Smile, 250 bond
  • Hanayo: 4450 Smile, 250 bond
  • Rin: 4760 Smile, 500 bond

Scores:

  • Honoka: 417,429 (no Score Up activation); 421,109 (on average)
  • Hanayo: 419,327 (theoretically, if Hanayo had Honoka's Score Up, 423,007)
  • Rin: 424,084

*Conclusions

A lower stat unidolized Score Up card *can* defeat a higher stat unidolized non-Score Up card and even rival an idolized non-Score Up given 'ideal conditions' aka you get super lucky with activations.

  • Interestingly enough, Honoka who has 200 smile stat less than Hanayo ultimately resulted in having 2,000 points less assuming no Score Ups activated.
  • Likewise, Honoka being 500 smile stat (and 250 bond) less than Rin resulted in earning ~6,500 points less.

So maybe like for every 100 stat points the Score Up is lower than another card, the card's skill needs to earn 1000 points to make up the difference.

  • Keep in mind though, this Honoka SR is special; most SR Score Ups only earn 1,000-2,000 points on average.
  • Also consider EX songs which have > 400 notes for more chances of activation for the Score Up card when determining how much your Score Up card can potentially earn.

The Love Live Professor strikes again ;)

But honestly thanks for doing that. Thats really helpful and saves a lot of calculating and thinking work for me... So in the end it is only useful to choose the scpre ups if the stat of the card is near to the stat of the replaced one...

Yeah, as long as the difference is < 200 stat points (not including bond) and the card has a *good* Score Up ability (emphasis on *good*; there are some pretty shitty Score Ups out there *cough* ~the free UR Kotori~ *cough*) the Score Up should be better.

  • A 4500-4600 Score Up card > than a 4700-4800 non-Score Up card.
  • A 4700-4800 *idolized* SR Score Up card > than a 4900-5000 *unidolized* UR non-Score Up.
