Thanks mate, it was so frustrating trying to describe these without giving them a proper name.

This may come off as a silly question but is there a particular name for those funny pictures that appear in Hoshizora no Memoria such as when Kosame chops You of what Asuho falls asleep at her desk? and if not is there anything that they're commonly referred to as?

Back before I became a true fan of visual novels I was looking for a visual novel like Katawa Shoujo but didn't know about the VNDB of Fuwanovel. I went on Yahoo Anwsers where someone asked a similar question and found in one of the answers a title called "If my Heart had Wings". I eventually got my hands on it and fell in love with it.

This may be irrelevant (possibly even stupid) but i've heard that in the development of Katawa Shouju Misha was planned to die of cancer partway through Shizune's route. it could be that this early plan had a hand in her not getting her own route.

It varies for me. sometimes, especially if there's a long common route, I'll use the skip button but other times when i really like what's in the common route and it's a little shorter I'll read through the whole thing.

i was also bored with the characters at first, wasn't really able to appreciate them until i reached the choices, which wouldn't have been a problem if the common route wasn't so long

G'Day everyone Grisaia no Kajitsu is one of my favourite visual novels and, dare I say, it's the best visual novel I've read. The only problem I really have with it is it's incredibly long common route that doesn't really go anywhere and drags on. It got me wondering, does a long common route take away from a visual novel's overall quality and re-playability? I personally feel that, while the quality isn't generally a problem, he re-playability does suffer. what do you guys think?

I've recently discovered that art style and character design can play a significant role in VNs. I'm playing Air right now; so far i'm liking that story, characters and music, but the character designs are a little off (there just seems to be too big a gap between the mouth and the chin).

My Favourite VN is either "If my Heart had Wings" or "Grisaia No Kajitsu" I was born in Queensland If you're taking recommendations, I strongly recommend Umineko no Naku Koro ni, just play it with a open mind, okay? Or it really turns into a mind screw. Hope you have fun and I'll see you around. Everyone is a potential lolicon, everyone. Once you embrace that potential, you'll be above human.
