  1. Absolutely freaking loved it! Gen Urobuchi did a seriously great job with it! The tragedy of the 4th War and Kiritsugu were done in a awesome manner, and many of the Servants/Masters actually surpass the original VN characters(F/Z Berserker > F/SN Berserker) IMHO. The animation was great as well! This is actually the first time I have heard of people NOT liking it, everywhere I see there's praise for it actually :V Maybe I go to the wrong places or something?
  2. F/Z is cool too for me, but since this is more of a F/SN forum, maybe it would be a good idea to use spoiler tags, since not everyone who has read the VN have watched or read F/Z as well. Offtopic: Speaking of Fate/Zero, if you haven't, consider reading the novels as well. While the anime is a wonderful adaption, there are a couple of small things better in the light novels, nothing too major but yeah. Plus they show what Caster and his Master are actually doing during their time...gah, pure nightmare fuel. I am actually glad they didn't show that, seriously. I can sum their actions up in three words... Ugh. But yeah, it really shows how goddamn dangerous/creepy/frightening the duo is, damn.
  3. Oh my, I forgot about Avalon. That moment in the VN was beautiful and badass at the same time, if such a thing is possible! Avalon is <3
  4. Er, this is in the specific section for Fate/Stay Night...so...uh well :V
  5. So I recently tried out this game, and its pretty damn cool. I like the setting, its a bit different than the usual Type-Moon settings, which makes for a interesting change! I haven't gotten very far yet, and will be replaying from the start(for real this time) when I go to India, but what I saw, I loved! So this thread basically serves as a general discussion, spoilers are allowed, but please do so within spoiler tags for us peeps who haven't completed it yet. What are your opinions on the game(overall), the story and the gameplay itself? And who's looking forward to Fate/Extra CCC and hoping for a localization? I know I am, as it has the FABULOUS INCARNATE, GILGAMESH IN IT! WEEEEEE~ Seriously, one of my favorite characters, and having him as a servant you can use on top of that?! Hell to the yeeeeeeeeeees!
  6. I like it so far, made a couple of topics already. Not sure if I have any ideas I can share yet, will come back if I get any~
  7. Sorry if the title confuses you, I wasn't sure if powers would count as light spoilers or heavy spoilers. Some are most likely heavy, so if you haven't finished the VN I would avoid this topic. So, lets get started! My top 3 would have to be(Not in a particular order): 1. Unlimited Blade Works, I actually like Shirou's version more, due to what it signifies for his character, and as it showcases what point he has reached in his overall development as a person and his ideals. 2. Jewel Sword, more of a weapon than a power I guess. If you have finished the VN, this needs no explanation. Its absolutely goddamn BADASS! 3. Gate of Babylon/Enuma Elish. No words needed, Gilgamesh is fabulous incarnate who is above all mongrels(catch the reference? hohoho...), his powers are wtfstomp awesomeness! BOW DOWN TO THE KING OF KINGS~
  8. Ending spoilers obviously, be warned. So I recently read this and holy shit, I was completely immersed! The ending hit me like a truck going at lightspeed, probably because of what Krishna tells you right before(The reverse schema explanation) Yoishi reveals what she saw(The man in the suit), which IMHO gave the revelation more, uh, not sure how to say this, 'weight' I guess, since it hits you right after you feel you now know what was happening, turning everything upside down once again. Pretty sure I was a bit traumatized at that point, heh. So yeah, my question is, how did you feel during the ending? My mind was obviously blown, as you can tell from my writing. Also, my second question is, does anyone know if Nitro will make a sequel to this? I know its based on novels, but the VN format is a lot better suited for this IMHO, would be great to have a sequel VN~
  9. THIS THREAD SPOILS ENDGAME MATERIAL, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Spoiler tags will not be used. ---- So I am near the end of the True History route, where the Demon Army pops up. That in itself wasn't that big of a problem...until they started recruiting monsters. Excuse my language, but holy fuck, those monsters with like 3000 troops kick my ass pretty damn hard, and buffing up my own army is taking a long while! Later on I ended up deleting my save games by mistake derp, meaning I will have to replay the entire thing, not a major problem though. So I thought I would get some tips in advance so I can prepare for the Demon Army better! Should I get any notable commanders for example? Which units should I focus on leveling up(affection and actual levels)? IIRC, these were my commanders before I messed up and deleted my saves: Rance Ogawa Kentarou (Demon) Suzume Uesugi Kenshin Naoe Ai Yamamoto Isoroku Asai-Asakura Yoshikage Kouhime Ranmaru Shibata Katsuie Kentou Kanami Maria Leila Rizna Uruza Magic Kasumi (She comes after answering one of Maria's questions in an event. Pretty powerful, though only two action points.) Itou Kakka Akechi Mitsuhide --- Each of them had around 1500-2000 troops, besides Kasumi, Itou Kakka and Akechi Mitsuhide IIRC. Most of them were either fully leveled up or at least nearly fully leveled up. Hopefully this info helps in giving tips.
  10. Finished Sengoku Rance after a couple of restarts, well, to be more specific, finished the True History route, still have the others left. Taking a break and going to watch Torchwood instead now, its a Doctor Who spinoff~
  11. Not in any particular order: 1. Kara no Kyoukai 2. Fate/Zero 3. Steins;Gate 4. Mawaru Penguindrum 5. Akira(Though the manga is better) 6. Baccano! (JAZZ) 7. Durarara!! (Izaya and Shizuo, that is all) 8. Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari 9. Katanagatari 10. Jormungand (HER NAME IS KOKO SHE IS LOCO I SAID OH NO) 11. Summer Wars 12. The World God Only Knows 13. Level E (Seriously underrated, had me laughing till I felt that I would drop dead if I laughed anymore >>; ) 14. The entirety of Evangelion 15. Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji (Many people are put off due to it seeming yaoi-ish, but I still absolutely love this series. Manga is excellent as well.) 16. Carnival Phantasm (Which Type-Moon fan doesn't have this in their lists?!) Sorry, had to go above the 10 limit >3>; Honorable mentions: Code Geass (Despite the humongous amounts of plot holes, fanservice and at times stupidity, its still a very VERY enjoyable show, which is what matters in the end!) Sword Art Online (I have a soft spot for anything virtual reality related. Plus Yuki Kajiura makes everything a thousand times better.) Canaan (Not as good as other Type-Moon works, still fun) Accel World Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (One of the better shounen series out there) Dance in the Vampire Bund (Prefer the manga, anime still cool)
  12. Can I call you Captain Badass or would that end up being annoying?/terribleattemptatajoke Seriously, both of you look awesome in that picture! :3 Its great to have you here, I haven't been here that long, but you seem like an awesome person here and very friendly, which is great! Hope you stay a long time here! Not really sure how to close this post, so here's a random tune from one of my favorite OST's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9rNs8TkTcw
  13. Welcome to Fuwa! Its awesome to see all these people coming here <3 Enjoy your time here~
  14. Offtopic: Yeah, Sengoku Rance is pretty funny, plus sex scenes don't really add much to the story(Except comedic value in some/many cases) so you can easily fast-forward through them, which is what I do most of the time. Except Suzume's, those are hilarious to read~ Ontopic: Hm...I am not really sure what to recommend, those I would have already been mentioned. If you happen to like Fate/Stay Night, check out Tsukihime(same people, earlier work) as well. its artwork is miles behind F/SN, but if you can get past that you may end up liking it even more than F/SN, at least, I do >>; Other games: Tears to Tiara Eien no Aselia Hoshizora no Memoria
  15. I was going to wait till I reached India but uh, gave in and started Sengoku Rance. Oh god, I am pretty bad at this, currently at war with Ashikaga and Hara, clueless as to how to resolve this ;o;
  16. If you liked Fate you are going to love UBW and HF, they are much, MUCH better than Fate, though I guess that's more of a personal opinion haha. BTW, did you enjoy Tsukihime? Which was your favorite route? :3 Also, about to start Princess Waltz. I had this for a while but kept forgetting to try it out, finally doing so~
  17. Oh boy, I feel dumb. Just tried it out in JP locale, works perfectly now. Need to make sure I remember this, and do the same for every VN which doesn't work in English locale >>;
  18. Just came back from watching Skyfall, it was really amazing! Well worth the watch, gonna get the Blu-Ray as well <3 Also, looking forward to the Hobbit, and in preparation, rewatching the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy <3
  19. Dumb question, but when you say language, you mean system locale right? Yeah, I should do that, I completely forgot to try that >>; Will report back after doing so!
  20. There are three versions of Persona 3. The original Persona 3, then Persona 3 FES, which is the definitive version as it contains the Answer which ends the storyline perfectly. Finally, there's Persona 3 Portable, which has the aforementioned female character with her own social links, but does not have the Answer, making it inferior storywise. If one wanted the complete experience, FES would be the way to go~
  21. I can reach the title screen just fine, but whenever I press -Start-, it merely...returns to the title screen. That is, it goes black, then returns to the title screen. Has anyone else run into this issue? If it helps, I am running a 64 bit Windows 7.
  22. From a fellow newbie, welcome to Fuwanovel! Hope you enjoy the wide selection of visual novels this site offers~
  23. Some info: There's a new version of Persona 4 coming for the Playstation Vita, called Persona 4 the Golden, it contains added features like new epilogues and more social links, so if its at all possible, get that version over the original PS2 one.
  24. @okami Kingdom Hearts is definitely a JRPG. Its kind of a love it or hate it series, you won't truly know until you try it, at least from my experience. Personally I use it as a way to pass time mostly, it doesn't engage my that much >>; Also, Last Remnant on PC is excellent compared to its console counterpart, which is way too buggy. Give it a go sometime, might end up liking it~ @Electro They just posted this news very recently: http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/a-contract-signed Its a JRPG which was already localized in its home console guise, should be interesting to see which title it is! Personally, I am just hoping that its a good enough title and it succeeds(To a sufficient degree, if not on the level of AAA titles), if it does, more companies would be open to bringing their JRPG's to PC, right? Hopefully its not just me being naive or something >>; @SKW(Hope you don't mind me shortening your name >3>~) I knew about the Ys games, had no clue about the rest, holy crap. Thanks for the info! Gonna look into these <3 @Ryoji The entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise(Persona included) is really amazing! If you get the chance, play one of their games, such as Devil Survivor, Strange Journey, Nocturne, Devil Summoner...I could go on haha. They are worth a try, though some of them take quite a bit of time to really get going and pull you in. --- Posting this link once more(Already there in one of the above replies): http://blog.ghostlight.uk.com/post/a-contract-signed Let the speculations begin!
  25. From a fellow newbie, welcome to Fuwa! Going to read Katawa Shoujo this November myself, looking forward to it <3
