Aolight is a modified version of Aozora Mincho Regular. I tweaked it so that the text could be properly displayed in the game, because the space for each letter in-game is displayed inside an invisible rectangle that cuts off the letters when they're italicized and need more spacing in their letter display. Make sure you have it selected at the game's Change Font menu. The wordwrap is tailored specifically to this font and anything else besides this will not work.

A modern-day teen witch becomes friends with an old-fashioned teen witch, and meets a boy hailing from the incredibly rural mountainside. And with that, the magic begins.

...Polishing it to a nice sheen with respects to its own gem of just your typical slice of life shoujo with a heaping whopper of magic thrown in so dazzling we have to stop and admire the assembly of a spectacular lightshow presented in visual novel format. Thanks Kirikiri! *heaves, out of breath*
In all seriousness: I have always loved this linear yet beautiful visual novel, so happened to be published by the company that released Tsukihime and the more renowned Fate/stay Night. It was a surprise to see that for once, this was for all ages. Not only is it pretty in visual terms (and I mean the art has improved), but the music is just fluid and breath-taking when accompanying the story. Props to Hideki Fukasawa, it's like the VN was made for his music. Or is it the other way around??
Let it not be said that creator and co-founder of Type Moon, Kinoko Nasu, doesn't drop a few ero jokes regarding Mahoyo. Maybe at some point, I'll share his comments going through the script files, cause it can get laugh out loud funny what he inserts for every semicolon.

I don't care if the translation take too much time to be completed, can take more than 3 years to complete, but I'm still going to wait because I know you are doing a amazing job XD

As most people point out, translating is a tough job. But the real hurdle is the quality and accuracy of it, and I might be the worst person to rely on for you guys, because of my perfectionist streak/complex which is the primary source of my frustration everytime I look back on what I did, and right now I'm being like "wth was I thinking!?"
There's also issues with the currently released chapters. I won't take the links down or anything, but I will update once/if I get to it
Thanks for your patience, guys. It means a lot.
As for those who want to translate it themselves, by all means. It doesn't hurt to pick up Japanese as a skill.

I'd think that someone who will go throuh all the effort to translate the game wouldn't want to end up with a bad second-hand translation after all his effort ? (Yes the fandom can be pretty harsh when it comes to it, just see the KnK translation and you'll find for yourself). Not to mention that maybe said person can't trust the quality of the translation ?
I totally get what you mean, it is indeed frustrating since french is much more accessible than Japanese, but that doesn't mean that a translation from French is a good idea.
If only I had the time I would def do a translation of it, or at least a playthrough where I translate to English Live. But unfortunately with 11 hours of class per day, finding time to sleep is already a challenging task ...

The reason I don't have sympathy isn't because "WAH, I WANT THING", but because I've repeatedly asked Herkz over the years in the Mahoyo comments and gotten "The editor doesn't want to give up the project, but also isn't doing anything with the project because *shrug*, so the entire script will stay locked on a hard drive for no reason" as a response for two years straight. I would have loved to edit it and get something released. Even if not the whole game translated (graphics and all), but just a rough script. Sadly, it doesn't look like that's gonna happen. And this is besides the fact that they still claim to have a full script when there was big scandal a few years back that they actually lost the entire script or something to that effect, which Commiesubs denied. Well, it's been quite a while since, and with nothing to show for it, they are either purposely forcing the project into hiatus so no one will be able to finish it or they just plain don't have anything to show for all these years due to possibly losing their work but are too proud to admit it. Forgive me for not showing the utmost respect to them even when I've wanted to try and help.

I could be an asshole about this and be snippy with you, but the fact is it's I'm too sad. Sad that things keep turning out this way for the one VN that I've actually been interested in for the past three years. But I suppose I should just shut up and know my place as a good-for-nothing pirate. :|

I'd like to not make this into a bitching thread, so I leave it at that. Good luck, izzeybee.

Hi, I have a humble youtube following of 32k subscribers and cover a ton of Type Moon content.  I've been wanting to play Mahoyo in english very badly since the novel looks so damn gorgeous.  It's sad how many translation projects for it have failed and I don't want this one to.  What resources are you most in need of to make this a smoother, more successful endeavor?  Money? A Team of Translators? Exposure?  This sort of thing may very well succeed with a gofundme or kickstarter, and I've love to get the message out.  Please feel free to contact me on this site or more directly via [email protected]
