  1. Try ironside

    http://ironsidecomputers.com/page.php?load=laptops

They start at just $1000 and should be able to run any VN at super mega max settings and some newer games at med-high. If you're interested DM me I have a discount code. I got my Dektop from them and it's the greatest PC I have ever owned. They also have incredibly fast support and will help you with any problem you have. I usually get a response within a day.

I recently played FSN, and gone through both ways described in the walkthrough here (for the Normal endings in HF) and they both ultimately lead to the same ending. Just what happens before the epilogue is different. (They branch off of different scenes during the final day.) So at least for the Realta Nua version there are effectively only two endings.

All right that was what I was thinking. Thanks :P

On your first playthrough, you really should not.

I actually did not use a guide on most of the routes and the worst ending i did get was a mere "normal ending" for Tomoyo.

I only used guide on the routes i did not care about, like Fuko for example

I kind of feel like playing on impulse and just dicking around, it is not something like F/SN where I already knew all of the endings.

Because the first experience is magical. You feel like you've got full control and whatnot. Like you can do whatever you want.

Clannad actually has a lot of clues hidden in its bad endings. It's just... It'd take more time than anyone considers it worth to get every ending without external aid.

So yes. I'd recommend a first playthrough on your own, then use a walkthrough.

That's what I was thinking, hope I am not doing myself a disservice by listening to you.

Clannad even has routes that depend on finishing another route right before the first. How would you recommend not using a WT there?

I already started it without one so I guess I will just stick it out. Oshawott is my favorite Unova Pokemon lol

  4. I was playing Clannad and I was planning on going through blind and just dicking around for once in a VN. However I got curious and looked at the walkthrough and it looks super complicated, I was planning on going for 100% completion (and I already have an idea of how it ends). I am also not someone who cares about spoilers so the recommended route order does not bother me.

    NekoPara....  *shifty eyes*

Though I'm assuming you're new to VNs which is why you're asking this. I'd suggest introductory but really good ones like Planetarian and Narcissu.

Clannad is a legendary VN and classic but very VERY long and more for those who have a few under their belt and know what they're getting into.

I am new but not hugely new, if that makes any since. Do you think Clannad is worth the money?

It should be obvious that the save data was in the game folder (For Kara no Shoujo) instead of appdata data like usual Mangagamer game. Although the OP here may already knew about that, I just want to answer here.

So if I launch it with the icon I have no clue where the save file goes, however if I launch it off of the game directory copied to my desktop it makes a save data folder separate from the icon launch.

I don't think they do for the first Kara no Shoujo.  I just downloaded it (previously bought it on a sale) and read the first few lines, saved, and looked under roaming, and nothing.  All I see is a folder for Cartagra, so it must go into the savedata folder that's located in the main game directory.

I believe that is where it is.

Mangagamer assholes are forcing their VN save and configuration files on C:\users\[yourusername]\appdata\roaming\mangagamer  (on Windows 7)
Don't know if it's the same with Kara1, but it was the case for Kara 2, Fatamorgana and few others.

Exactly why I didn't "buy" it from them, really don't like how they run things.

  9. Does anyone know where the save file for Kara No Shoujo is located? Is it in the game directory or somewhere else?

Update: So if I launch it with the icon I have no clue where the save file goes, however if I launch it off of the game directory copied to my desktop it makes a save data folder separate from the icon launch.

yeah not sure where he got the 9/10 from considering that the wii out sold both the ps3 and the 360. the wii u did bad sure but that doesnt really mean it should go towards the 9/10 statistic that the switch is gonna fail. plus the fact that the the top ten most sold video game systems globally has 5 spots with nintendos systems, 4 with sony's and 1 with microsoft.

The wii didn't out sell the XBOX 360 or PS3 according to my source, the PS2 is the top selling console.

Well, it isn't like they are selling physical copies at the local gamestop or advertising them on the psn network next to whatever FPS is popular nowadays. So, I don't really blame you for not knowing about it.

I still feel kinda out of place, everyone knows so much about anime, manga, VN's and all that kind of stuff and I just got into it a few months ago. :P
