  1. I just don't like paying for an incomplete game

I wouldn't say it's worth it. Mostly because of the possible regret you get afterwards. I would've never bought Aselia if I knew it was inferior version (and now there is even Special edition with all ages content and original combined).

    The second one?

I guess I'm not ashamed to say I like H scenes and theyre now a big reason I check out many VNs these days.

I've read a bunch and I've come to realize my favorite H scenes are just simple vanilla scenes where the girl is the cowgirl position, preferrably naked and decently long with good art.

This is something that is admittedly fairly common but I'm always on the lookout for ones that look good, even ones that are Japanese only (though obviously something with an English TL is preferrable).

I've actually made a list of my favorite H scenes and you can see what I like here:

(WARNING Lots of NSFW CGs in this doc)

I actually got a kick out of this. But you should've put the name of the game (heh..hehe rhymes) next to them. I have like 0% idea what half of these are from.

It might have to do with there not being porn on the covers. Postal offices only evaluate what they can see, they're not gonna play the game.

Another thing I forgot to mention, with SAL you'll likely be getting your package in those carton envelopes, not in a cardboard box like you probably would get with DHL and EMS. They wrap it in plastic and bubble wrap it though so it should be safe.

    Thanks mah dood <3

I have ordered multiple times from Mandarake (specifically their Sahra and Utsunomiya stores, but I'd assume they all operate the same way) and I can say they're pretty reliable.

They are reasonable with prices, but it also depends on the shipping method you pick. If you pick SAL it'll usually be pretty cheap, but it can't be an order over 2 Kg (doesn't seem to be the case here though). The most I have paid for shipping using SAL was like 1,080 yen for 3 books (which means the package weighed about 700 grams). They can also put insurance on the package if you ask them. Their costumer support is pretty reliable as well (I have always gotten a response from them in 24 hours or less).

If SAL is not available, mandarake also has an option before you checkout that says "cancel the order if SAL is not available", so you have that safeguard too.

If all you're getting is a 90g item then just pick SAL and you'll be paying pennies for shipping. EMS and DHL are super not worth it for such a small item.

Thanks, hopefully they don't catch on that they don't have Kagetsu Tohya marked as 18+ on the store page. ;)

  5. Is mandrake reliable? I want to get something from their store but I'm worried I might end up with some crazy shipping price, are they usually pretty reasonable?

For reference the item is 90g

So, I noticed that I find it hard to get interested in some visual novels because they don't grab my attention from the start.

I am not completely against slice of life but I find the story much more important. So, if at the beginning there is no story and it takes very long for the story to start, it probably won't grab my attention.

I like visual novels with great stories. I prefer if they are serious but I don't mind some slice of life or comedy. The story should have an external problem (I don't mind if there are also other types of problems)

I can't read visual novels in Japanese. I don't like if the gameplay is hard and it can't be skipped. I am not familiar with strategic and tactical games.

Here are some visual novels I liked:

G - Senjou no Maou (My favorite visual novel)

    Ever17

    Sharin no Kuni

Grisaia no Kajitsu (The story doesn't really have much of an external problem until you choose the heroine though I guess there is some story from the beginning that keeps your attention)

Symphonic Rain (I guess there is a lot of slice of life but there was story from the beginning and a very clear external problem)

    Comyu

    Toushin Toshi 2

    9 Persons, 9 Hours, 9 Doors

    Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2

    Phoenix Wright

    Fate Stay Night

    Persona 4 Golden

I tried Rewrite, Eien no Aselia and Ayakashibito and they did not grab my attention. I also tried some other slice of life visual novels but they did not grab my attention.

You don't have to recommend the sequels, Umineko or Muv Luv Alternative.

Tsukihime, my recommendation every time some one asks, no matter if they say they don't want something of that genre. :illya:

It's only because I read the manga that I shit on Kuzu no Honkai. It honestly was refreshing when I first checked it out too. It seemed to dive into sexual relationships and how sex isn't just about love and all that, which is nice.

But then things start gradually getting worse.

      Hide contents

There's too much cheating and netorare and every character acts like an asshole and at that point it was just like seeing a story trying to force as much drama in as they could, using sex as the excuse and/or resolution for everything.

One of the guys is literally a cuck and is aware the girl he likes is cheating on him and enjoys it, and that girl gets upset because he's not supposed to enjoy it, she wants to cheat on him to make him feel bad, but he still loves her. It's absolutely mind numbing that an author would come up with such a dumb plotline.

At least its not just another Ecchi romantic comedy, I am interested to see how it is going to play out though. I can see why you're shitting on it though, making fun of cucks is fun.

Can you explain the appeal to me? I've watched the 1st episode and it just seems like pretty much every other A1 show; cool concept, painfully boring and incoherent execution. I'm probably just really biased because of Digibro, but I can see what he means when he uses the phrase 'assembly-line feel'

Please prove me wrong. I hate hating things.

Dude I respect Digibro, but I respect people who can think for themselves more. I do agree with him that most A-1 shows suck hairy donkey cock, *cough SAO * cough Ass war, but they have a few good ones. i.e anything that isn't a light novel adaptation. I watched IWMG and saw that A-1 was the studio afterward, I sat there for a second and jsut thought "holy shit...".

I feel like it has the exact same plot as Toradora, but Toradora campy and more humorous so I could tolerate its' predictable nature. Kuzu No Honkai seems like it is going for a more straight approach and I don't want to watch a pair of emo twats liking each other's wounds, until they suffer some weird form of Stockholm Syndrome and mistake it for love.

Well yeah obviously, I mean even with Toradora you can tell how it is going to end just from the synopsis. It is a romance story, they're pretty predictable. The first episode doesn't really go as what you would normally expect though. But I can definitely see where you're coming from.

    Spoiler

It has pretty art though that is all I need.

    https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-01-12/amazon-u.s-launches-anime-strike-paid-streaming-service/.110924

Crunchyroll, Funimation, Daisuke, Anime Now, now have some 'serious competition' from amazon's $160 subscription fee of Anime Strike.

Now for anyone who is actually thinking Anime Strike will one day be worth it please remember that both funimation and crunchyroll offer airing anime for free a week after release. Amazon Strike requires payment.

The thing that really gets me is that when trying to push Anime Strike they say they want to treat anime fans right since television isn't doing that. They are right television isn't doing that because we had things like crunchyroll and funimation that actually understand anime fans. Instead we get Amazon who on top of making users pay 100 dollars for a prime membership must now spend an additional 60 for the Anime Strike. If that were not the kicker however there is more bad news. In order to get the Amazon Strike membership you must also have an Amazon Prime membership. Amazon is holding shows hostage behind a 160 dollar pay wall. But wait it gets worse than even that.

Do also remember amazon has never shown a genuine interest in the anime fandom beyond are dollar value. Amazon system of organization (as someone who checked out the free thing for less than an hour) the company has a total of 52 anime (and only 6 of those are exclusive to Strike). There is no way to properly discuss the show only to give ratings there is nothing to build a community. Amazon is treating it like television as well as a number of the more risque shows are still censored and still of broadcast releases rather than dvd/blu-ray releases (Yes I checked). Amazon is also a private business so if a show offends it they can easily pull it or censor it without notice. They are also extremely limited on dub shows as well. The fact that amazon is going to curate the site/platform as well likely means any reviews or comments depicting a show in a negative light they can remove at will. Amazon has already been heavily moderating user responses/questions/reviews so this just means we're going to see it even worse now.

Amazon Strike has also affected those with with Prime membership as many of the shows that had the entire lineup available to watch via prime now only have a few episodes which is likely confirmation that yes they are saying fuck you anime fans you want to watch anime you gotta pay us an additional 60 dollars.

Anime Strike also unlike crunchyroll, funimation, and all those others do not have a free service of any sort. Please do not support this horrible action by amazon...hell I'm annoyed enough that I'm probably going to simply stop supporting amazon and will return to pirating for their select shows.

Anime Strike needs to fail. It has to fail or we will be seeing basically the whole situation with television happening online even worse than it already is. I am not going to do anything with Amazon Strike and I urge everyone to make it fail so that they give up on it.

And with that my initial distaste for this mockery of anime is at an end. I'll try to remain more civil from now on I'm just so very pissed at this time. Perhaps once I cool down I can play the amazon's advocate...although as it is at the moment hell will freeze over first.

Competition is always good for an industry no matter how poor or good the completion may be.

I think you're talking about Fuuka here.

Kuzu no Honkai is pretty shit though, I can agree. Which is a shame considering how beautiful they made it look.

The first episode of Kuzu No Honkai was really good, but than again I am not like old as shit. I feel it is supposed to appeal to a younger audience.

I am surprised by Blue Exorcists thought, it has a first time director and it seems like it is going to go pretty well, it also has a huge budget.
