Watched the movie King Solomon's Mines (the 1950s one) on TCM. Was a pretty good adventure movie for its time, though one amusing surprise was it ended up turning into a reverse Black Panther of sorts.

Took me 24 tickets, but I got JAlter

Man, what a party pooper. I find out Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road has been translated, a VN I had left for dead a long time ago, I get it and manage to get it to work... to then actually check a couple reviews and find out the MC is some sort of wet blanket, passive MC with no common sense whatsoever. Can anyone who has played it confirm or deny this? Cuz it's rather heartbreaking to find out (but better to find out now than some hours into the game).
I've played the game (and most of the FD) and I didn't think so regarding Hiroshi, the closest I can say the MC gets to that is in Maki's route though the story does try to justify it. Admittedly the fact that Hiroshi is supposed to be "normal" compared to most of the cast can make him a bit dull on his own, but I would say he makes a good enough straight man to the more over the top heroines. Here's my review for the game:

Finally got around to finishing Marie's route in Dies irae and...it was a good enough ending: the fights were really good, Junichi Suwabe's performance as Reinhardt was excellent and really helps in establishing why the character is regarded as such a memorable villain and the ending hit all the right (even if somewhat expected) notes to be a good enough conclusion to the route's story. Played a bit of the after story too and so far it's pretty amusing considering whose POV we're starting with, even if I'm pretty sure I know how this is going to end.
I think after I finish the after story I'll get to finishing Sorami's route in Tokyo Babel before coming back and tackling Rea's route. Not sure what else there is left to focus on aside from Rea herself (though we have covered quite a bit about her already over the course of the game, so...) and that one hanging question at the end though which while I'm curious I don't see how the answer could have any effect on the story considering there doesn't seem to be any hints of this in any of the flashback material. Though I am hoping to see the following:
Spoiler1) Actual fight between Shirou and Bei (on equal terms) with a satisfying conclusion
2) What darkly funny death is Rusalka going to get in this route? In Kei's she gets used as a club by Schreiber before getting an off screen death that totally needed a Wilhelm scream and in Marie's route everyone knows about her impending death except her and her attempts to get Schreiber to help her backfire hilariously.
3) More Ren and Shirou bromance

Just started playing this game (currently on chapter 5) and I'm liking it so far. The story's decent (even if it is basically JRPG Star Wars; especially with the recently introduced big bad being a black knight ) and the combat's not too complex. Plus unlike FGO, I don't have any preseries investments in any of the gacha characters so whatever I summon comes without any frustration .

Yes, though my reading of slice of life/pure romance VNs would be next to zero and it would be straight up fantasy, scifi and mystery vns for me.

I might recommend trying a different game genre just to do something a little different. My main game for the past couple months has been Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition (with some recommended mods) and I've been having a blast with it at over 100 hours in and that's just at the main story content. In between I've picked up Hatsukoi 1/1 again for something lighter to play, finally got through the common route and am currently liking where I'm at in Midori's route.

Just got back from Black Panther, really liked it.

Going by the best I can recall...
Counting hybrids:
1) Thousand Arms
2) Zone of the Enders: Fist of Mars
3) Growlanser 2 and 3
4) Inuyasha: Secret of the Cursed Mask
5) Phantom of Inferno
Discounting Hybrids:
1) Phantom of Inferno
2) Tokimeki Check In
3) Crescendo
4) Chain the Lost Footprints
5) Hourglass of Summer or Phoenix Wright (I can't remember which I played first)

Asked for:
1) Evolimit
2) Kajiri Kamui Kagura or Silverio Vendetta (yeah, kinda cheated with this, but I'd like some more light games)
3) Youkoso! Sukebe Elf no Mori e (took a look and it sounds like a neat nukige)
Was considering asking for RuiTomo again, but considering its owned by Akabesoft who want to localize stuff through kickstarter...

Finished Raziel's route in Tokyo Babel and overall I thought it was pretty good, not great but it had an okay conclusion. About my only moment of disappointment was
Spoilerwhen they revealed what "God" looked like. With the way Sorami was describing it, I was expecting some Lovecraftian horror, but when it's revealed it just looks like your typical late game JRPG boss monster, and not really scary looking. If they'd shown us the Ouroborus form instead that would have matched the description better (and yes, I'm aware why that was saved till later, but still...)
I will say the highlight was the cameo appearance of Mecha-King Ghidorah . Now on to Sorami's route

I'd like to see a translation of RuiTomo and its fandisk since people who have played it said it's really good...and all attempts I've made to read it have ended in failure

Got to Chapter 13 of Marie's route in Dies irae...and only just realized this is kind of the perfect VN to play for Christmas
Also
SpoilerWow, I've been making jokes about how this route makes Kei the Yamcha of her group, but I wasn't expecting her to get straight up Yamcha'd

Santa Iskandar would be pretty neat

Yeah, Shinji and Zouken definitely deserve their spot on the most hated list as does Shin from KnS ...they also deserve this:
As for others to my list:
The protagonist of Super Secret Sexy Spy
Shinichi of Princess X
Akihito and Yuika of Harukoi Otome
Kazumi of Kansen Ball Buster
Tsukasa of Kazoku Keikaku (one of the many reasons I dropped that game)
Yukari from Magical Teacher (sorry Miya Serizono, but not even you could save this role)
Remi from Osadai
Sofie from Harem Party

Tried to summon for Jack again. I was very happy when I saw a gold assassin card. Then it became Carmilla. My world is crushed.
At least you got a 4 star servant, the only thing I've been summoning over 3 stars have all been craft essences
SpoilerActually though I'm not all that upset about not getting Jack as a good deal of my servants have gotten a huge power boost thanks to this event. Saber Arturia is now level 72 and Scatach is level 74 and thanks to them I am straight up slaughtering my way through finishing Okeanos (Scatach practically one shot Herakles with her Noble Phantasm), I've fully ascended Atlante, Jin Ke, Kojiro and Marie and all I need to do the same for Chevalier are a couple of Serpent Jewels.

Finished the main episodes for Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya and overall I really liked it. I admit it's the comedy where it's at its best (with Type Moon being off the wall insane with its characters), though I did think of the dramatic parts the fight with Black Saber was the best of them, the drama for the finale felt a tad rushed in its start, basically it probably could have used a little more build up but the final fight was good...though Berserker looked weird not only without his sword but also in shifting between being a 2D animated character and CGI all throughout the fight

I've gone through quite a bit of quartz and summon tickets with no luck at getting either Jack or Nursery Rhyme, really must have used up my luck getting Scatach. Still really liked the Christmas event as the story was funny, the rewards to grind for have really helped in powering up my servants...and best of all hearing Black Saber sing never gets old . May buy one more role set for the last day.

Here's my review of the game, overall I liked it, but it does have its problems (though my problem with Akihito wasn't that I disliked the character, just the narration started to get annoying after a good while).

I would love to see DDC in english from what I've read up to the start of Mei's route. I really like the story and lore (what I could understand of it), but reading it really shows my limits of Japanese literacy since I need a dictionary handy when playing and (ignoring the C&D issue) I can't see anyone with the skills to properly translate it doing it for free.
As for the possibility of DDC getting a Steam release...it "might" be possible if you make Kanata's "other" route inaccessible without a patch since that's where the darker ero content is concentrated, though it'll still read weird considering the heroines' h scenes are spread throughout their routes and do factor into the relationship growth with Sora.

A shame that of the nukige releases there isn't a single Lilith title

Did a whim use of 30 quartz for the event summon...got Sakura Saber , meaning I can save on quartz and my accumulated summon tickets ...and I now have two 5 star Sabers to grind up as they're going to eat up level up and ascension items like, well...Saber

Okay, now that I've played more of Granblue I can say the story certainly has picked up (about the point where they introduced Vira...might explain why she's a doujin-err...fan favorite ), the humanization of the Black Knight has been really good so far and wow I was not expecting to get this attached to Drang and Sturm. Also been enjoying the side story/event storylines: for example, the three Robomi stories have been consistently entertaining (though I think the recent one felt a little rushed at points) and Why is the Sky Blue 2 did a good job bringing me in and getting me invested even though I didn't play the first part
