I ended up playing for about 2 hours yesterday. I was pretty tired and Chinami didn't help, but I enjoyed the parts with Mare. I'll probably resume my Fate playthrough before going further though.

Haha, yeah I think so too, but I'm on vacation this week, so I think I'll just start a bit of Hoshimemo to see how it is, and then I'll go back to finish Fate, or at least the route I'm doing. I've got a few VNs where I have one or two routes finished, but sometimes I like alternating between VNs when I've been playing one for a while. Like I did Fuuko's and Kyou's routes in Clannad, then went to play something else for a while, then went back and finished the rest of it, while reading a little Umineko and G-Senjou on the side when I didn't feel like it. I just like trying out new games I guess. edit : I'm not sure if it's just me or if it'll get better, but Chinami is getting pretty goddamn annoying. Other than that, I really dig the music!

After reading all this talk of Hoshimemo recently, I think I will start a game tonight. B) I might have to study up on which girl I want to go after first, hehe. edit : Nah, I think I'll play it blind and see where I end up.

Corpse Party 2 : Dead Patient, is looking frickin awesome! Check out these PVs : I'm glad they went back to the overhead view IMO. I can't wait to play this! (Though it most likely won't be for a LONG time unfortunately.) Also, that escalated quickly!

I think it's a question that brings up a somewhate complicated answer, at least for me. I started getting into anime and manga in the late 90s, and the stuff I had access to back then was rather limited, especialy since I lived in the countryside. After having rewatched some of my old classics and watching some older stuff that I hadn't seen but usualy had heard of (I was a very active member at animeboards.com back then), as well as watching many more recent shows, I have to say that it's pretty 50/50 for me. There are shows I enjoyed back then that felt kind of "meh" compared to some newer shows I watched, while there are some older shows that also managed to stay miles ahead of most of what comes out today. But there is still at least 2 or 3 shows every year that leave a considerable impact for me, with maybe one or two that I intend to watch multiple times because I enjoyed them so much. (Chuunibyou comes to mind as an example)

I'm still playing Fate/Stay Night, I'm almost finished with the Fate route. I'm really enjoying it, I was a fan of the anime, and I can see why the VN gets all this praise. Little Busters went a bit on the backburner, but I should pick it back up soon, still on Haruka's common route. I also started Tsukihime, but I'm not very far yet. (I know I start too many VNs at the same time, but I can't help it. lol)

In the end I googled pics until I could make a decision, haha. The conclusion is that Nibutani is that much sexier. Mashiro Vs Asuna was also kinda hard, but not nearly as much.

I love Azazel-San. Last season hasn't been quite as funny as the first so far IMO, but it's still very funny. (And offensive. Two whole episodes about bloody hemorroids? WTF lol) I finished Sakurasou last night. It was very good, last few episodes managed to pull a few tears from me. Not sure yet what I'm gonna start next, I have DLed many series lately.

(Arena 34) How the hell do you expect me to choose between Tôsaka and Kanade? lol (and it seems I accidently abstained after finaly deciding on Rin, doh.)

And Kurisu lost to Chitanda Eru. I mean, I also really like Eru, but c'mon, Kurisu! I was also rooting for Nagisa. At least Tohsaka won and Kanade won by a landslide again. I'm happy, haha.

All right, I'll bump this up on my list to try it out soon-ish. B)

Metal covers FTW! Now I feel like playing Saga Frontier again.

I chose "No preference", because I feel I can appreciate both equally. There are many visual novels where I have felt indifferent to the voice acting, but there are a few cases, such as Umineko, where I would say the japanese voice acting really helped put me in the mood. Having played many english dubbed video games and watch some dubbed anime as well, I must say hearing things in english hasn't usualy affected my enjoyment. Even if I watch most of my anime subbed, I'm not the kind to get upset when I must watch it dubbed. Dual-audio when available is of course the best option, but with localization not always a possibility. For the seconde question, having played japanese games since the age of Sega Master System and Nintendo, I feel that I have grown to really apreciate games made with a japanese audience in mind, but visual novels such as Katawa Shoujo have proven me that something written with western audiences in mind can be just as enjoyable, for different reasons. (such as the cultural references) So I chose "No preference" as well.

As a Key fan, I've been interesting in playing this for a while, but with all the good VNs out there, it's pretty far down my "to play" list unfortunately.

At first I always went full screen as I felt it helped with immersion. (Switching my monitor's display to 4:3 when needed.) But over time I switched to playing most of them windowed, not sure why, it just happened, haha.

Sorry to bump this up, but does anyone have any experience with amazon.co.jp "Open Box" items? The difference in price with new is really astounding and it would make it much easier to build up my collection. I don't mind if it's opened as long as the box is still in decent condition.

The free version of Slime Forest was pretty good for learning kana and some kanji, I recommend it as well. Feels less like studying and more like playing, and helps setting some goals within the game. I finaly managed to get Anki working. Seems like it was my own fault for messing around with my timezone and stuff to get past the "This Game is Japan Only!" message from the Clannad Memorial Edition, while still retaining the time from my actual timezone.

Japanese power metal? A good part of the song sure feels like it. This video got me psyched to read MLA.

It was also a tough choice, from what I've seen of the show so far I really wasn't sure which one ot pick. In the end I felt Mashiro was a bit more original as a character and voted for her.

Apart from my weekly shows, I somehow felt like rewatching Chuunibyou. I'm about halfway through and now I remember why I enjoyed it so much. I've also started Sakurasou, which so far seems very good. I'm quite pleasantly surprised. I had heard good things, but didn't really know what to expect and wasn't expecting to get hooked so quickly. I'm also about halfway through Cross Game, episode 26 I think. Good show so far, though I'm not giving my final verdict yet.
