I guess the first question is who did the Ryusei route and who did the Kyosuke route? I guess since we have a whole month we could do both routes. I started with Kyosuke. I'm up to about mission 13

The first 10 or so missions lured me into a false sense of security, with not too much crazy difficulty even when I got enough battle masteries to start up Hard mode. After level 10 though... hoo boy they're getting real serious now.

I do love the weapon and pilot swapping system. Though you can't trade signature weapons, you can arm the grunt units up enough to keep them relevant, plus you can mix and match pilots and mechs to see how new combinations turn out. I just wish there was a way to see which 'spells' everyone was going to learn, since those are more important than stats for who you put where. Almost all my characters now are assigned to mechs according to what spells they can cast.

Gifs coming soon. Lots of animated attack gifs. Let's party.

I started playing it today. It's actually the first time I give a reasonable amount of time to play a mech game. As a fan of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, I'm enjoying it more and more as I progress. I love how some of the characters have their own theme when they fight, the music really grows on you.

I took Ryusei's route. I'm not sure what the major difference between the two characters are, but for I'm sure I'll eventually give the other character a try in the future.

I'm on Mission 8 with Ryusei ^ ^

Things that aren't fun to learn the hard way: When a mission says you need to get all your characters to a certain point in the map, that means all your characters that you put into the mission. I have one or two dud characters that tend to die a lot and I tend to just let them die since it's too hard keeping them alive while aiming for the Battle Masteries (most of which require quick and risky play). I got near the end of one mission and had one of my dud characters get shot down only for the mission to fail me because when it says ALL it means ALL.

It's like a freaking escort mission for my own dead weight characters. Protip; don't feel like you need to bring every character to every mission.

dont worry once you past ep 20ish on any character you can pick anyone you want. also on the bottom left you see the hit rate for the enemy, use spirits to avoid most attacks and have all useless characters rase EVA stat.

I think I know what episode you're talking about. I just got to a stage where

there's a battleship that's similar to the Hagane commanded by Rai's brother. I lost one of my sensitive units realizing that not one of them had to die. I'm also having a hard time getting the mastery too, destroying that ship in 7 turns is quite a challenge > <

Just gonna... just gonna leave this here

(disclaimer: not all the girls in this video are in OG1, sadly)

Welp, over halfway done and I've managed to only miss 2 Battle Masteries so far. They're getting tougher, though. I usually have to save mid-battle and reload a few times if I screw up. The last battle I did I was on the last turn of the time-limit to wipe out all enemies and there was an enemy mothership way out in the distance that hadn't moved since the beginning of the battle. Without Spirit comboes like Accel+Assail+Valor and Snipe+Assail+Valor I never would have even had a chance.

next time please not a game that takes 2 years to finnish  :vinty:

I guess it's what to expect from strategy games that focuses around a setting/plot :D

Although I'm having a blast when I play it, I now I realize that I don't have enough free time anymore for long games like these, as much fun as they are to play  :(

At least what matters is that we all got a chance to play it to some extent~

Definitely this. I think this club is more about sharing the experience of a game rather than being completionist or forcing people to put in more time than they want to. I enjoyed the heck out of all that I played of this game, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it to 100% it.
