  1. My nuts are busting when i see aiyoku no eustia are getting a quality fan translation,

now i think it's about to explode when i see august latest game are getting fan translated too,

Say, if you have played eustia, and this game, can you compare the differences in terms of storytelling? are this game equally dark as eustia? does it lean a bit more into realism and originality toward it's settings instead of your generic highschool romance fantasy? (Like seriously what's up with japan's obsession towards highschool settings, i'm kinda sick and tired of it honestly)

i'm curious, since i really like eustia's dark and depressing atmosphere,  and i'm looking for more games like it.

There's definitely nothing going on behind the scenes, don't worry guys. Nor am I looking for profit whatsoever. Fact is that I've been busy lately ever since finding a new job a few months ago, and I don't like to get rushed.

That being said, I can't and won't confirm when I will finish this, but I've been doing my best to make progress and finish this, while at the same time not rush to give you guys a rushed translation, so I would appreciate if people can be patient and not spread rumors or make wild speculations. Thanks for your understanding!

Also, this has been blown out of proportions. To clarify, he has been trying to get me to release the translation quicker, when really, I don't want to be rushing my translation especially with my new job now. So that's that. Either way, there's no actual tensions in the team, so don't worry.

I made this account a year ago solely to keep track of this project, and i honestly were kinda scared when the progress starts getting slower and slower, Sorry i'm not trying to dismiss the extremely huge effort that you guys put out, simply out of pure love and passion, but after seeing some others fan translation group gave up on this game, i just can't help but to feel that this project will have the same fate.

And this fear of mine is kinda genuine because after playing the partial patch, i was invested in the worldbuilding, characters, and just how dark, original and unique the settings are (maybe i'm just sick and tired of highschool settings) plus the writing is not too edgy, like most writers definition of a "dark" story nowadays are nothing more than a gore fest, which is something i'm not a fan of (i've played kara no shoujo it's good, but the unnecessarily excessive sexual gore always made me thinks that the writer has some kind of a messed up fetish)

So yeah the game is good, really good imo, and maybe i'll write a small review of the first two chapters of the game in this thread while i wait, but all in all, i'm more glad to know that you still have that burning passion to work on this project.

Remember that you're doing god's work out there, and i'm hopefully wish you guys will get the geofront treatment, where their project catch the attention of the devs of the game that they're fan translating and make it an official one with a bit of polish, only then you'll get the recognition that I feel you guys truly deserves.

now my question is, are there any recommendation of games that are similar to this one? (i've played previous august games like fortune arterial and that yoake thingie, and i'm just simply aren't invested in the story since it's feels like your generic unoriginal highschool romances, which is something i'm tired of seeing, and here i thought the other games august made have the same qualites in storytelling as this one, still tho they made Aiyoku no eustia, so i still hope they can craft a good or better stories in the future)

  3. Lol guess sekai decided not to localize eustia, it's pretty sad tho but there's someones doing god's work if you still interested in this decade old game

From the first two chapter of the game, i quite like it, the story is really good but what got most of my attention is the worldbuilding, the story and setting is dark as hell the characters are all relatable in some ways, i guess what i mean is that most of them are a realist and pragmatic, they didn't go overemotional when something petty happened and instead goes calm and tried to solve the situation in the most logical way possible

But most importantly it's not set in a highschool settings, and you know what? i actually love the game, it strays off from the unrealistic idealist fantasy world that plague the genre, and shows a grim dark realities, they tell a very human and belivable story because despite it's fantasy setting i don't see a lot "Fantasy" Aspect in it like you know magic and monster and such, maybe except for eustia immortality in the prologue.

But i disliked the romance aspect in the story tho, it felt extremely rushed, like the devs treated the characters route as an afterthought, and also the appendix, it's basically an all you can fuck buffet scene, a clearly waste of potential, because all i see is a bunch of short stories of caim fucking everyone, like why? if i want porn ill just search for one, but atleast the setting is appropiate and belivable tho because it takes place in the brothels and not like just a bunch of highschoolers on mating seasons

Appendix is wasted potential, like they could flesh out the side characters by playing as them in their past and basically show how they end up like they are in the main story or something

  4. Maybe the degrading of VN comes in the lack of innovation or evolvement, most other game genre evolve overtime like, action games having prettier graphics, adding new mechanics, and other technical evolvement.

Some devs tried to innovate the genre by adding new mechanics that correnpond with the story like Danganronpa, ace attorney, zero escape, etc which is a huge success compare to other VN who stays on a more traditional path of simply just telling stories with minimal interactions

  5. There's a VN called Aiyoku no Eustia which covers up most of what you're writting,

like a very deeply developed mc with voice, making him feels like an actual character instead of a voiceless self insert. a story that pulls you in right from the get-go, and there is rarely a boring moment throughout, making every section felt plot-relevant, and the plot itself is ripe with twists, revelations and events.

it's genre is a fantasy mystery with a very dark tone, and despite it's fantasy setting the theme tells a very human story with relatable/believable motives, it's not overly edgy like most anime that attempt to make a dark story, but these are just my opinion.

Also the music is very atmospheric especially the ones that has vocals in it, like the tone of the opening alone tells you what you're getting into let alone when you understand the lyrics

The music has a very medieval and somewhat nostalgic feel, despite me never hearing about this game before. the lack of synth and other modern instrument makes it felt soothing and organic, kinda reminds me of the dawn will come from dragon age inquisition. (Sorry for the gushing i'm a huge nerd for classical and strings)

In short the music is what caught my attention to this game, here's the link to one of the songs if you want to hear it

But unfortunately (and fotunately?) the game is still being translated by a small group of dedicated people in this very site

you can still use the partial patch which covers only 2 routes but i personally think it's better to wait for the full patch which is almost out

    Here's the forum

If you're interested please give them some support, they're one of many people that deserved it

  6. Most VN are japanese, that's why there's barely any woke diversity and all that, because that country haven't been tainted with such needless political conflict, as far as i know at least.

And if you're talking about having a problems with VN that has anime artstyle then.

The only race anime have is simply anime, no causcasian, latinos, asians, africans etc. if you have problems with anime, just treat them as it own thing, they all have the same oversize eyes and unnatural body structure, just treat them as a completely different fictional beings like dwarve or elf if you're really that desperate to have something to project yourself on.

As for your complaint for not having a girlfriend, well wether you're young or not, like the comment above, just go outside and socialize, just try, and if you made a bad first impression with strangers then that's okay, don't think too much about it cuz what's the worse could've happen?

And one last advice from a stranger, don't mix any IRL politics such as diversity with video games, it'll do nothing but ruining your experiences just like what you doing now, just don't think much about it, play the games enjoy the story, and try not to project any IRL politics you have in your head into the game you're playing, just disregard those thoughts thanos snap it if you can.

and please, don't use VN or any video games to cope with your personal problems, just think about how you can improve your life, remember there are millions of solutions to any problems, and you just have to search for one
