  1. Oh good I will look forward to playing it about five years from now when it's finally translated into english
  2. Finished playing Campus Notes and... I enjoyed it! Very much so! It was a solid Visual Novel it wasn't the best I have ever played but it is definitely worth checking out. The heroines were so unique and interesting I loved all of their interactions. I didn't even mind that much when Kaen kept referring to herself in the third person (I usually really really hate that) The dialogue is really well written and I laughed quite a bit at many of the lines. There were only two real problems that I had with it. 1. There are all these cameo characters from different vns that 4th cluster made. That would be cool if I knew or cared about these characters but since these games aren't translated I did not. It kind of took me out of the story a bit when out of the blue completely rando characters show up say a couple of lines and totally disappear. 2. There just isn't enough cg. I don't really know quite why maybe it was a budget thing but there is only 8 different cgs in the entire visual novel. The main girls only get 2 apiece. That was a real shame because there are many moments in this VN that ought to have a cg dedicated to it but they're not there. Still for a pretty short visual novel I really enjoyed my time with it.
  3. Was reminded of this quote again it's pretty much one of my most favorite quotes "Every once in a while, I remember something I did when I was a child. Or something that was done to me, by my father, or my brother, or a cousin. Some injury. Some humiliation. And it seems like... it happened to another person, a century or two ago. I'm not really sure if what I remember really took place at all. You can't build your life, relying on the perception of a little boy, or the echos of some memory. Nah. You got to let all that shit go. You gotta start, fresh. Every single day. You have got to start again." Augustis Hill: OZ
  4. I ask this question because the majority of visual novels out there (or at least the ones that I've encountered) center around high school and the trials and tribulations associated with it. I mean most try and shake it up (it's a magic school, we're caught in a time bubble, everyone vanished, suddenly vampires, conspiracy school) but most of them still keep the basic structure of high school life. For me I've never been much interested in that whole thing partly because I simply never cared much for high school. I don't have any real nostalgia for that time and I'm glad that part of my life is over. I never had the high school life that is usually depicted in movies, games, books, manga, anime, whatever. It was uneventful and uninteresting. I didn't have a bad high school life but I didn't have a good one either. I had some friends, I was a mediocre student, I never got the girl, I went home on the school bus. So, anyway back to the main point of the thread I want to know what your high school life is like. Did you enjoy high school? Did you hate it? Did you not care? I also would like to know if you feel any nostalgia when you play a visual novel set in a high school or, do you not feel anything at all?
  5. I think it's always rewarding when you find out that the thing that you thought only you liked is enjoyed by a wide range of people. I never was the type that liked to hold onto a thing like it was my one and only I like finding things and sharing them with people (whether they like it or not) So it's cool to know that Visual Novels have a female audience as well (even ones that are almost geared exclusively to men) I've been into yuri stuff since I watched strawberry panic so if anyone knows some quality yuri stuff they can hook me up with some info
  6. Currently I am playing Campus Notes- Forget Me Not And so far I am really liking it the characters are all pretty great and endearing, the dialogue is smart and funny and the mystery is keeping me invested. The best part about it though is the fact that it is not set in a high school! It's actually set in a University! FINALLY
  7. Merry actual Christmas nanoda!
  8. Well I finally saw New Star Wars and that definitely was a new star wars movie
  9. Merry but it's the 24th youse guys
  10. This is the best Christmas movie ever made
  11. Welcome to Fuwanovel! I hope you enjoy your time here probably, maybe. Yeah Clannad was made by Key and yes they excel in mercilessly extracting tears from tender hearts. It's a pretty seminal work and worth reading for Kyou's and Tomoyo's routes alone
  12. Finished playing Love Ribbon and it was pretty decent and oftentimes vaguely uncomfortable (You know the whole incest thing) I thought they handled it in a good enough manner and there were some sweet moments. One thing that really annoyed me is that so many times they would do something or say something only to be interrupted by a third party (this happened like four fucking times)
  13. Ebenezer Scrooge: [on Tiny Tim] Tell me, Spirit... Will he live? Ghost of Christmas Present: I see an empty place at this table. I see a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. If these shadows remain unaltered by the future, the child will die. Ebenezer Scrooge: No. Say he'll be spared. Ghost of Christmas Present: If these shadows remain unaltered by the future, none other of my species will find him here. But if he is to die, then let him die...! "AND DECREASE THE SURPLUS POPULATION!" Ebenezer Scrooge: You use my own words against me? Ghost of Christmas Present: Yes! So perhaps, in the future, you will hold your tongue until you have discovered where the surplus population is, and WHO it is. It may well be that, in the sight of Heaven, you are more worthless and less fit to live than MILLIONS like this poor man's child.
  14. This is by far my favorite picture of Mint Blancmanche my favorite character of my time.
  15. Symphonic Rain is an absolutely wonderful experience for the music alone! Now I say this while being the type of person who does not listen to the background music of visual novels. I usually play my own tracks I find. I didn't with this visual novel. I listened to the whole damn thing. I even have the tracks on my own damn ipod!
  16. I think this is definitely the most powerful scene I have experienced in a visual novel. I remember how emotionally uplifting that scene was, just filled to the brim with warmth and love it was almost unbearable. Of course this being me I had the perfect song to go with it.
  17. Oh I just remembered someone that I really hated! That fucking piece of shit main character from Yandere! He was such a rapist asshole! I really ended up enjoying all the times in which he savagely died it was cathartic in a way. I only wish there were more opportunities for him to savagely die. Fuck that guy.
  18. Yo what's up Diggidy Dog! If you are into that Yuri thang then I would recommend Flowers and Kindred Spirits on the Roof
