  1. Not at all. Rating helps prioritize anime, detect trash without wasting time watching few episodes. It's far from meaningless. Maybe you misinterpreted my words, so let me rephrase - Clannad(at least anime version) got way more credit than it deserves.
  2. Just finished watching Clannad (After Story included). Honestly, I think it's waaaay overrated. It's okay to watch it to kill time, but it's nothing really special. And I failed to realize it right until the end. Tearjerker-type anime tends to be mediocre with some comic relief situations in the most of the episodes - this is understandable since first and foremost we need to connect to the characters so that it'll hurt more when we'll be ripped apart , what cannot be accomplished without bringing up usual stuff everybody encounters. This applies even to Angel Beats! - pinnacle of the feels - we meet the crew, some stuff happens and occasional fun that livens up the situation. In case of Clannad Sunohara and Akio are the ones who made things interesting when I was thinking "Oh well, guess I'll give it a rest". The real value of the tearjerkers's in the last episodes, that's why you can never tell whether the anime you're watching's worth it or not. Keeping all that in mind I had concrete resolve - I'd finish Clannad no matter how boring it would appear. I'll be honest - it wasn't that bad. There were few interesting arcs. Last episodes were sad, my hopes for the ending were sky high..... It turned out to be nothing special. I'd call it another Slice of Life anime.
  3. I love the arc too : D The topic wouldn't concern me so much in the other case. Although the fact that it's a cat... Sigh, it ruined all of it.
  4. GAWD WHY? It could be perfect yet it's so messed up.
  5. SPOILERS AHEAD! So, around episode 6 there's a small arc about Misae's past. I suppose you already watched it, so I'll jump straight to the question - who the hell was the guy that was with Misae all the time? Was it the cat or the real Shima? We know that the ghost (I'll continue with this term to avoid confusion) did not remember quite a few things back from his life, which is plausible for both a cat - he had no need to know those things and Shima - memory loss. The ghost also said once that he met Misae, because he was asked to do so, and that he is not real Shima - around the same time we learn that he's a ghost. That's about it. Then the romance and disappearance of the ghost in front of Misae. When Tomoya wakes up, he confirms that the cat was the one who showed this dream. When all of them go to the festival, cat runs to the place where Shima and Misae confessed their feelings. Tomoya speaks up letting Misae know that he's aware of the ghost and that it in fact was the cat. After which Misae says "Guess I'll play with you a lot today". Before we continue... WTF? Was she talking about intercourse? Then Tomoya acts like a transmitter and tells Misae that Shima wants her to live on, that he's a cat so they can't mate. Then cat's flashbacks - he's sitting on the lap of somebody in the wheelchair/chair(I'm not sure), and his inner dialogue where he talks about his master. That's pretty much it. So who was the ghost? I've read on yahoo answers this: Katsuki Shima died. He had a charm that contained one of the light orbs. Coupled with his regret he essentially cast the deed of repaying Misae onto his cat. His cat can then take his form. So then he's able to communicate with her. Once the regret of not being able to repay Misae is lifted, Katsuki was then able to leave this world and finally rest. So all that's left is Katsuki's regular cat. - which means love happened between Misae and Shima. But if it was Shima's mind in the ghost body, why did he say that he's doing a task for someone, and that he's not the real Shima? I'm really confused since I don't understand with whom Misae fell in love with. The cat or Shima... Couz it could be the cat all the way
  6. Carpe diem, seize the day, Gather ye rosebuds while ye may Japanese voice language would be much better - it suits anime style. Ma ii ka. Really nice character art.
  7. I feel ya. Then I'll simply dig in until I find the TRUE ending.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions and all. As for the VNDB profile, I don't think I need it - I've got a .txt with a-a-all the anime and VNs I've seen and my personal ratings. Maybe I'll start a blog someday....

  10. Hmpf. Here's link to the thread created solely for this question. Thanks for the the answer, but could you be more specific? Like 1. This game 2. This game 3. This game, and only then you'll achieve Nirvana. I suck when it comes to huge universes. And thanks for the welcome. I ask myself the same question
  11. Hello. I just finished Fate/Stay Night VN. I want to go deeper into the universe and see it to the end. As far as I know, not only there is a continuation of the story, but different routes of the original FSN, which is actually considered to be Route Fate. So my question is - what are the titles of novels that are continuation of Shirou's story?
  12. Hello, from now on I'll be joining you on this forums. My life as otaku: 1. Anime Long story short: I love anime, subbed anime - dubs suck. My preferred setting's mix of seinen and supernatural in modern timeline, although sci-fi and fantasy are ok too. My favourite series are Angel Beats! (almost made me cry) and Erased, followed by Parasyte and Charlotte. 2. Visual Novels I got myself into world of VNs about two weeks ago by mere accident - I always thought of it as of something really boring - infinite scrolling with occasional fappage. BUT to my surprise it's not something you should look down upon. It's quite an adventure actually. So far I finished 2 VNs Muv-Luv Alternative (I skipped the first two and only read short plot description, so I wasn't lost when I jumped right into the middle), which was a blast - epic story, the feels, intense combat and occasional fapping mixed into wonderful masterpiece. Fate/Stay Night - another great novel. Cool fights, music, emotions and occasional fapping made me almost forgot that it was a wall of text. Somewhere in my head i was watching anime... At least I want to think so. Anyways, kinda heartbroken after finishing FSN few hours ago I spoiled the rest of the story and decided to get deeper into the world of... Fate? Here's my relating thread 3. Manga Meh. Not for me That's all. Thanks for spending this whole time reading my humble post it makes writing it worthwhile
