  1. Granted, but your drawings are so beautiful that anyone looking at it experiences sensory overload and their brain shuts down. I wish I could speak to cats
  2. I remember also going out to look at the stars after reading Hoshimemo... good memories...
  3. Granted. The amount of magical power has been increased so much that reality gives up and turns the world inside-out. I wish I could understand any Human language and it's writing. Even the dead languages.
  4. 8.5/10 Like the artstyle and the image in general.
  5. Been reading for 1,5 years and have according to my VNDB profile, read (and in the process of reading) 31 VNs. My top ten right now is probably (I have alot of trouble deciding): 1. Fate/stay night 2.G-senjou no maou 3.EF -a fairytale of the two- 4.Katahane 5.Hoshizora no memoria -wish upon a shooting star- 6.Tsukihime 7.Grisaia no Kajitsu 8.Wind -a breath of heart- 9.Sharin no Kuni -Himawari no shoujo- 10.Utawarerumono
  6. That's actually a very interesting point... But anyways, I think that Visual Novels lies somewhere in the middle, having the interactiveness of a game, but the longevity and detail of a book. To me, that was all I've ever wanted. For example, almost any VN (obviously excluding nukige) I've ever read have had a better experience overall than most of the Videogames I've played. Visual Novels, like books, ARE story and therefore, very immersive if they're done right.. In most videogames, the story is sadly only framework or filler for the actuall game, but that can be excused if the game is mostly just trying to be fun to play. As you've probably noticed while playing games, it is not often that the story and gameplay is actually integrated with eachother. Mostly, the story has to take a step back in favor of the gameplay itself. But to further discuss the question of whether or not you're reading or playing a VN, I would say that if it has gameplay, you "play" it. If it doesn't have gameplay and only choices, you read it. This was probably not very coherent, but these are my thoughts on this topic.
  7. Things are going very slowly right now...

  8. You're not wrong, since that probably describes how I feel about it pretty well. And (since I forgot to set a good example and start with my own preferences) I put my favorite lineup as: Osananajimi Genki girl Strong-willed Heroines The Modern Tsundere And lastly, my least favorite character type is probably the blood-related imouto
  9. Granted, Yuyoko shows up at your house, invokes death on you and steals all the food in your fridge. Ghosts gotta eat too. I wish that my ability to predict VN plot-points could apply to real life too.
  10. Someone might've already done a thread like this, but anyway: As you know, stories in VNs (due to personal experience, I mean bishoujo games) are usually character-driven, and the routes (when there are different ones) are very often built around a specific heroine. Therefore, their characterization is usually the focus point of their route. You are probably already familiar with most of the different types of archetypes that exist. I'm talking about: The childhood friend and all it's variations The different Tsunderes The loli characters The Imouto-style characters (Blood or non-blood related doesn't matter) And of course, many more. But my question is basically: Which of all these different archetypes Is YOUR personal favorite, and why? Examples are recommended, but not strictly necessary. Thank you in advance.
  11. "Wait a minute... This taste is somehow very familiar."
  12. I wanna join too! 8/10, just for that grumpy look.
  13. Granted, but the autopilot ends up stealing your body... Plus, it's a reaaaaaaaly bad autopilot. I wish that I could get the knowledge I want with a snap of my fingers.
  14. Your wish has been granted, but you're never told what that wish was. I wish for the ability to make a well-received and popular VN.
  15. Granted. but now what was previously logical has become illogical instead. I wish I could accomplish any task If I put my mind to it.
  16. Mayumi from Shuffle, anyone? I really felt that she had a fun personality and a kinda moe appearance that was at least as good personality as most of the other girls in the cast (except maybe Asa...)
  17. Ah, I thought that it looked familiar. And I wholeheartedly agree with Mai being entertaining (and slightly hilarious). I checked Harukoi on VNDB and... It didn't look that bad. Well, I'll see when I get around to reading it...
  18. I really liked Fate/zero since it provided me with so many moments of "Ah, that explains everything!". It also gave me way to many reasons to re-read F/SN. If you haven't, re-read at least the Fate route (I really, really like that route ;D ) and make a conscious effort to look for continuity. It's definetly worth it. When I wrote that I've been roaming the site for some time, I meant it all, but especially the main blog and the translation section of the forums. It's only recently that I've started to look at the other parts and sections. As you might've already noticed, I haven't really gotten around to reading any all-ages yet (I blame the fact that I couldn't get Clannad to work, and I really wanted to start with Clannad on the all-ages side. Now, I think I'll start with Mahou Tsukai no Yoru instead...) but I think that I'll read symphonic Rain right after MTnY. Addendum: Zakamutt, your profile-pic seems really familiar for some reason. Could you please refresh my memory and tell me where it is from?
  19. While the Shirohane chapter is fairly relaxing and is pretty good, the Kurohane chapter is going in the opposite direction (except that it's still good, of course). And by that I mean that in Kurohane, the mood is for the most part... excitement and death, I suppose? Anyways, the Kurohane chapter has the best story, while the shirohane capter has the best atmosphere. The VNs I have read (or is in the process of reading) are: A profile Canvas 2 Da Capo (both I and II) Deardrops EF - a fairytale of the two Fate/stay night Grisaia no Kajitsu G-senjou no maou Hinatabokko Hoshizora no memoria Kamidori Alchemy meister Kanon Katahane Katawa shoujo Kira kira Koihime Musou (don't remember the rest of the name) Princess waltz Sharin no kuni - himawari no shoujo shuffle snow sakura Soul link suika tears to tiara tsukihime Utawarerumono Wind -a breath of heart- I think I might've forgotten maybe one or two though. And maybe, I should've spoilermarked this to save space...
  20. Well, I do plan to keep doing what I am already doing, except that the only different is that I will now be commenting... And as an answer to your recommendation, I have already read Tsukihime (I think it was the third one I read) and as with Fate/stay night, I loved it, although the Artwork left a little more to be desired... But, It's still amazing considering that it's a Doujin game.
  21. Hi everyone. While I've been roaming fuwanovel as a guest for a long time now, I wasn't until very (very) recently that I joined. So, here I am. I've been reading VNs for almost 1.5 years now, starting with Fate/stay night back in February 2012, and I can safely say that... I love them. When it comes to VNs, the type really doesn't matter (although I usually stay away from Nukige) as long as it is written well, or at least good enough for me to enjoy it. I'll read even the ones considered "Cliché´" with a smile (although I don't like Imouto routes much, so that's the one thing that even I will have trouble reading). For me, story is most important. I'm something of a twisted "Purist", meaning that I want things with a large amount of content. For example, a VN that started of as an eroge, but later got an all-ages adaptation that maybe added an extra route at the expense of the H-scenes. I will choose the 18+ version simply because It's has nothing "removed" from it. similarly, updated re-releases are fine, as long as there are no major changes. Some of my interests besides VNs are: Reading "real" printed books, watching anime (and by extension, reading manga), listening to music (can be almost anything, as long as it sounds "good" to my ears), analyzing tropes in literature (including VNs) and mostly fooling around at the computer. Some of my all-time favorites are: Fate/stay night: The first one I ever read, and the one that got me interested in VNs in the first place. Superb atmosphere and characters, coupled with a writing style that quickly got me hooked, I also consider it the best Fantasy story I have ever read. Ef - A fairy tale of the two: In short, I came for the general outlook, stayed because of a few things... ungodly amounts of (extremely beautiful) event CGs, great music, and (maybe this is just me) a somehow very noticeable atmosphere of melancholy and general... depression. G-senjou no Maou: Story is exciting, the true ending is really beautiful, great characters, a very nice art style and last but DEFINITELY not least, a soundtrack that sounds waaaaaaaay too good. Katahane: Nothing in it really stands out at first glance, but the mood (mood and atmosphere are really important to me, as you might've already noticed) is great, and it doesn't really have any weak points. The constant switching of "main character" is also a really great concept. Those are only some of my favorites, but I didn't mention many of them, lest this list might get a lot longer. Any VN tips would be greatly appreciated. So, this turned out a bit longer than I expected... Well, that is all.
  22. If there is one thing I don't like, it's bad puns.
