There have been best VN guy and best VN girl contests on /r/visualnovels. I've surprised there hasn't been just a general best visual Novel contest. I want to include as many major VN communities as I can with voting so I wanted to make sure to run it by this forum. I won't spam the forum with topics/posts with this contest I promise. I'm mostly gonna follow the format done with previous bracket contests. Some ground rules: * If an entrant has a vndb page (v+number URL), it is considered eligible for this contest * In the nomination form, please put the v+the number from the vndb link of the VN you want to nominate (e.g. "v5" nominates Little Busters) * With that said we once nomination voting starts we're actually going to merge most series together into one entrant each. So stuff like Muv-Luv+Muv-Luv Alternative are together, Umineko+Chiru will be together, Ace Attorney will be together, DanganRonpa will be together, MajiKoi original+S+A, Fate/Stay+Hollow, all parts of Baldr Sky etc. Nominate all parts you think are worthy enough to be included in the series and we'll fit em in. * General exceptions are where series may have similar names or in the same universe but have wildly different characters/stories. For example the Infinity series (Never7, Ever17, Remember11) would all be separate, Chaos; series + Steins; series + Robotics; series would all be separate, Grisaia trilogy and Phantom Trigger are separate, etc. * If you think any particular series should be merged together or kept separate, please leave a comment in this topic. * Don't worry about nominating untranslated VNs or otomes or BL or nukiges or heavy gameplay VNs that are usually seen as JRPGs/Fighting Games. I only included separate releases of VNs if the translation was redone or if the release was that significant/big for a new audience. I prefer if you didn't vote for 2017 for stuff that haven't been released yet (who knows if stuff will be delayed to next year or won't actually be that good). Anyway, for me I don't think anything will beat MajiKoi being revived along with S coming out the same year (2015). Though Evangile and a bunch of other notable Steam stuff coming out was cool too.

11eyes TL came out a few months ago. Has anyone read it? I was kinda interested. What's the general plot/setting/storytelling like? What do people think of it? From what I see it looks like an action-y VN and a bunch of characters use magical powers or something? Art looks kinda ok/meh.

I'm gonna on a different tangent and say H-SCENES. Yes there is a thing called H-Anime, yes there are things called doujins, yes there are just random lewd pics you can find. However, the great thing about H-scenes especially in non-nukige is if you specifically want H-content with a character/waifu you've grown attached to through story/development congratulations! You usually get at least 1-2 H scenes for the average non-nukige. H-scenes in VNs are lot more varied, in H anime you're limited by the 20 minute episode limit and sex within the eps is maybe 3 minutes on average, 5 minutes tops. Some H-scenes like in MajiKoi are ridiculously long so if you're proud of your endurance you dont have to worry about being disappointed by 20 page doujins (where sex is sometimes like 5-7 pages long) or 20 minute animes with gaps between sex. Also while more common in nukige you have cool things like fap counters by line. If you like to control your releases this is a great way to pace yourself instead of the more unpredictable nature of other porn stuff. And H-scenes usually have MUCH better CG art than most 2D hentai stuff at best.

Feel-Good Moeges VNs with stories that screw with your mind

She's nice, cute, has the Russian factor, has unique accent, most unique appearance. Route quality doesn't necessary equal character quality. It's not like the route itself ruined her character necessarily for people as far as I know, it's just the storytelling may not have been the best. People are capable of separating those.

I pretty much use it only to check out H scenes of random VN with good CGs with 100% saves Probably the only way I can enjoy it.

hmm I've made a whole bunch of revisions ever since I made this doc like... a half a year ago? lol. I guess with more VNs/H scenes I read or whenever I revisit some scenes and think some need reordering I'll go back to it but it probably won't be soon.
