  1. Hi there everyone.

I just had an idea when I saw a topic about translating a handful of VN's.

What about making a donations system to encourage more translations.

I don't have all the details figured out, but I have the basics.

    1. Creating Translation Teams/Groups
    2. User generated wish list
    3. User generated Donations towards the VN they want translated on the wish list
    4. Teams/Groups can ask Mods or admins to work on a VN from the wish list
    5. Teams/Groups get a small weekly payment from the generated donations for their work
    6. Fuwanovel will be the only place to get/read the translated VN.
    7. Team/Group Page

So, to start it there should be a way for users to create Teams/Groups specifically for translations. The Team/Group leader would have to submit a request to a moderator, or a admin to have it created. From there the Team/Group leader can add other members to it, as well as adding information about the Team/Group members, information necessary for admins or moderators to gage if that Team/Group is qualified for the task.

The wish list should be suggestions from the forum users that want a specific Visual Novel translated, either by having a monthly poll, or by having a thread where users can submit requests to the wish list. To make sure the requests are legit and not just spamming, they wont count as a submission until a starting donation by the one making the request on a reasonable amount.

When the wish list has a reached it's limit (maybe 5-10 VN's) users who wants a VN translated can make a donation towards it. The donations for said translation will then be handed out to the Team/Group that has been given the OK to work on it on a weekly basis on a agreed upon amount. If the VN donations stops coming in while the Team/Group is working on it, it will be up to them to continue working in hope that there will be more donations later on, or simply put it on hold until the donations comes back. To not let the Team/Group take too long on a translation the admin or moderator giving the OK should give the Team/Group a reasonable deadline to have it finished by. If it's not finished by the deadline the Team/Group will have to give all the work over to Fuwanovel for safekeeping, so that if another Team/Group wants it, they can continue on it.

When a Translation is finished, all the work will be sent to Fuwanovel for review. When the review is done a English patch will be made for the Visual Novel to install on top of the Visual Novel. Another way would be to build a VN emulator into the website to be able to read it, but I assume that would be illegal without the proper licenses.

The Teams/Groups should have a page with information about the members, who they are (usernames from the forum) and what they have translated earlier. Along with that there should be a Reputation widget where the admin or moderator will give the team positive Rep for good work on a translation along with a personal note about what he/she thought about the process, as well as negative Rep for missed deadlines, bad communication, etc.

I also had the same idea for Teams/Groups of artists, hackers, and so on.

I think this is a nice basis on something that could pull more attention towards Fuwanovel, and make it a much bigger place for all of us who have grown to love it here.

If it's a good idea, I can start working on the functions for it.

    Kind regards, Xion.

  2. Cave of Sinners: A Virtual Reality Visual Novel Introduction.

Q: Why VR for a VN?

A: I know that VR might be like a "?" for most people, but when you're like me that enjoys free roam and puzzle based gameplay, it becomes a little more interesting.

Q: What platform is the VN coming to?

A: Right now the VR version being developed is for Android, the PC version will be made later when this one is finished.

    Q: Is the VR obligatory?

A: No, VR is not forced on you. If you don't have a Google Cardboard or any other VR headset for Android you can turn the feature off. Same goes for the PC version with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Q: What will make the VN benefit from VR?

A: Head tracking, fast movement and immersion. It will be essential in the gameplay segments and to more easily spot "things".

Q: How big will the game be?

A: The script says about 45 hours, which is for the first path taken out of a lot.

Q: Will there be voice acting?

    A: Yes, fully.

Q: Will it have any electronic music?

A: So far I've made one electronic song for it, all else is orchestral.

    Title: Cave of Sinners

    Studio: XionsProphecy Software

    Publisher: XionsProphecy

    Release: TBA

    Platforms: Android, iOS, PC, PS4-VR.

More info is coming as the game is being developed.

On a slightly off-topic note... Nintendo has an upcoming handheld console for the Wii-U as well starting next year?! Dannnng. I heard this new "Nintendo NX" is rumored to be the replacement for 3DS. Of course, Nintendo's officials claimed otherwise, but they claimed the same thing about how the DS wasn't going to replace the Gameboy as well. Look how that turned out. lol

The WiiU is finished and will not get any more updated peripherals.

The "Nintendo NX" is a replacement for the WiiU, not the 3DS, the NX will be aimed at the casual market with a Home console that can be taken along when you leave home, which is a handheld device that will dock in a cradle at home for boosted performance. The 3DS is nowhere near finished yet as it will get a lot of games for years to come and will most likely have more updated revisions in the future.

  4. If the intent is for VN's, go for the PSVita. If it's for gaming, go with the N3DS.

The PSVita is not dead like everyone says, it's very much alive and gets games and VN's regularly, besides, it's awesome to play PSP and PS1 games on.

I bought the N3DSXL 'cause I love the bigger screens, but I will be buying a regular N3DS later on for all the faceplates you can have on it.

If the 3D feature is nothing for you, get the 2DS. Also, if you're a "Graphics Whore" you should get the PSVita since the visuals are much better then on the N3DS.

Just remembered that the N3DS is hackable, so that you can use homebrews, backups and customized themes.

I got all the systems and love them all.

  5. Hello there everyone.
I am currently offering commissions on character designs and Music, so if you need a character or music for your Visual Novel or something else, I will gladly take on the job.

I have been drawing and making music for over 15 years, while 3D characters I've been doing for about 7 years.

    How to submit a commission

For 2D/drawings, go to XionsProphecy Artworks

For 3D models, go to XionsProphecy Software

    For Music, go to XionsProphecy

Send a PM with the details of the character you want to have created (Personality, name, eye colour, etc).

For music, I will need the details of the scenario where the music takes place.

Prices will be decided when I know what you want.

All character designs and music being commissioned are owned by XionsProphecy, XionsProphecy Artworks and XionsProphecy Software. If you put the commissioned character and/or music in your VN/Game you have to state in the credits who made the character and/or music.

  6. Depends on what you need it for.

USB Flashdrive I would recommend if you need a small form-factor for storage while travelling.

External HDD/SSD I would recommend for storing files you want to save for a long period of time, or use as a installation drive for software and/or games.

For making it look better, just print something on photo-paper and glue it on.

Alternately you could sculpt something and put the drive in it/on it.
