  1. I still love my Wii u and 3ds wouldn't bother using emulation since a lot of them don't work properly.

So do I, but I see emulators as a helping hand to those who can't afford the console.

It's an impressive first release, but I don't expect rapid progress until it becomes open source.

It will become open source later on, for now the main coder is very strict with the code. Perhaps when/if the pressure gets to be too much.

  2. Emulating is one of the purposes behind building my monster rig and overclocking it.  I was waiting for this to eventually rear its head, and with Citra looking to be in a fairly playable state by Christmas, I'm in for some jolly holidays.

This emulator works with about 5-10% of all games. In maybe 2-3 years we will have a emu that can play 60% (hopeful thinking). Please keep this in consideration.

  3. Finally we released this somewhat secret project into the masses with a big welcome from the community.

  4. On PC FuwaNovel is broken for me, I cant do anything.

    1. Had to disable my VPN to get past the DDoS protection.

    2. Cant minimize the forums with the "minus button" anymore, it just send me to the top of the page.

    3. Chat does not exist anymore. Whenever I enter, the chat is not there, just an empty page.

    4. Cant respond to posts or make new posts. The editor refuses to be loaded everywhere, cant even edit my profile.

    5. Whenever I hover my mouse over a name, the box does not show.

    6. Cant like posts either.

Eveeything seems to work fine on my phone. Which is very weird. I even deleted all history from my browser, but FuwaNovel still bugged.

  5.

Flash of red before colors reload on FuwaFabulous

Edited the defaults. Not sure why this is happening.

    Red thingy still a thing~

At this point though i'm beginning to think there's something wrong on my part, and it's not that important anyway~

Occasionally mine goes red, too. Mostly while loading or after taking an action, like posting.

I can verify this as well.

Additionally, only some things are turning to Strawberry, while the rest remains consistent.  For reference, my current setup is Slate and Emerald.  (Slate as a replacement for Sky)

Could it be this is Fuwanovel subtle way of saying it wants a Red Theme? :michiru:

Working on a Rose Red theme.

  6.

The chat option in the Ignore user settings is removed

    As in ignoring certain chatters?

Yes, before you could opt-in to ignore chat users (Not see their messages). The feature didn't work for the chat, but worked in the shoutbox.

The message feed in the small box is gone, which is annoying. Please put that back.

You posted a picture of this, but I can't figure out what's wrong. Can you explain it to me like I was five? Or Rooke?

Before the upgrade, if you held the mouse on a users name a box would pop up and in that box your latest status feed message would be visible. And now it's gone.

    -EDIT-

The chat does not have a pop-up feature, it's still on the same tab as the forum when the Chat button is clicked.

Also, shouldn't i be able to change my rank as a backer? (currently set as Requiem for a Rekt)

  7. The chat option in the Ignore user settings is removed, that is disappointing.

I expected the upgrade to add the chat to the ignore option properly.

    -EDIT-

This is only me being an asshole wanting old stuff back.

Chat has no longer a pop-up option and is smaller compared to before, also the avatars no longer shows up in the chat messages.

    oFPE02O.jpg

The cover photo is now extremely small, compared to before, really annoying. Although, the upload for the cover photo is improved.

  8. I like this update a lot. Currently I am using the mobile version and it's so much better than before. I noticed some new features, like finally being able to view and edit my profile properly and that the themes work (Dark theme <3). And the ability to add attachments to comments is nice as well. I will be checking out the Pc version when I get home and will be checking for exploits and so on. And with themes working on mobile is making me want to work on themes for the forum so much more.

  9. Seeing as how the game has aged my only issue is that they'll change too much or not enough. Most people would be perfectly happy with a straight up Graphical Remake and touching nothing else others wish for more than that however and I can understand both sides of this issue. Unfortunately I think VII is one of the most overrated rpg games of all time but even with that being the case I am more than willing to replay it if they make it worth doing so. I do not however own a PS4 and will not be buying one so hopefully it will one day come to PC but if it doesn't oh well.

  10.

    2. How will themes change in IPB 4? Can we make our own? What about re-creating Gravity Green?

A: The software on the back-end of the forums is changing substantially, so a bunch of new functionality will require new/modified assets. Additionally, IPB 4 is responsive, so you'll get a much improved experience on any size of device. It may even be enjoyable to surf this place on your flip phones circa 2005. I don't know that for sure, so don't quote me on that. Smartphones and tablets, tho, will be several times better to navigate on the new themes, though.

As far as making themes goes... Invision has guides for how to do that (I'm the wrong person to talk about the technical side of themes), so if you want to check out their site and learn the ropes... go for it!

Remaking GG: by doing so we'd run the risk of getting in trouble with the Gravity Green theme's developer (who, it so happens, makes all our other themes) (I like them, and I'm not really looking for a blood feud atm). If there are talented coders who want to try their hands at it, however, I can help you get in touch with them. They're the ones who would make that call.

    ...

  11. Added this question to the OP and tried to answer it. Let me know if you want clarifications : ).

I take that as a yes then :)

I'll start doing some work on a Gravity Green 2015 version tomorrow.

And after that i'll do some more themes. I have a few good ones in mind.

  12.

unfortunately Gravity Green 2013 is no longer supported by the Dev and will not be making the transition with us.

Can't we submit our own skins/themes?

If we can, i bet some people are willing to make a new and improved version of Gravity Green.

Either way, i'd like to contribute with some, if that is allowed.

  13. They have been at it again people.

    Anita Sarkeesian & Zoe Quinn

    BroadbandCommissionReportLaunch_Septembe

have been talking with the UN about censoring the internet,

"To save the Feminist's Feelings" from getting hurt.

So, what sort of content does the UN want to censor?

ISIS recruitment videos, perhaps, which lure women into lives

of rape and servitude? Live-streamed executions from Syria?

Revenge porn or snuff videos? There’s no shortage of dangerous

and potentially traumatising content on the web, after all, much of it

    disproportionately affecting women.

Alas not. The UN is hung up on “cyber violence against women,”

a Kafkaesque term that is apparently shorthand for “women being

criticised on the internet.” At least, that’s how at least two attendees

at the launch of the UN report, published by the United Nations

    Broadband Commission, explained it yesterday.

According to feminist culture critic Anita Sarkeesian, who spoke at

the event, online “harassment” doesn’t simply consist of what is

“legal and illegal,” but “also the day-to-day grind of ‘you’re a liar’ and

‘you suck,’ including all of these hate videos that attack us on a regular basis.”

No bomb threat against a feminist critic of video games has ever been

deemed credible and there are serious doubts about threats supposedly

levelled at transsexual activist Brianna Wu – feminists are trying to redefine

violence and harassment to include disobliging tweets and criticisms of their work.

In other words: someone said “you suck” to Anita Sarkeesian and now we have

to censor the internet. Who could have predicted such a thing? It’s worth noting,

by the way, that if Sarkeesian’s definition is correct.

Sarkeesian’s comments were echoed by former video game developer, feminist

activist and professional victim Zoe Quinn, who told the United Nations: “There are

individuals on YouTube who have made a living off of abusing Anita and I.”

Quinn does not name any specific YouTubers, and we are left guessing as to who

    these mysterious “abusers” really are.

Quinn makes more than $3,000 a month on donation site Patreon as she travels

around the world talking about her “harassment” story. If anyone is turning a profit

from alleged “online abuse,” it’s not the YouTubers.

Sarkeesian and Quinn are perhaps the finest living examples of what I call quantum

superstate feminism, whose figureheads are at once aggressor and victim; trolling,

provoking and ridiculing their ideological opponents while at the same time crying foul

when their provocative language is returned in kind.

The message from the UN seems to be: “cyber-violence” against women, at least

according to their invited guests, is somehow equivalent to getting thumped, or bullied,

or abused in real life, and it’s worth clamping down on basic free speech provisions to

insulate these delicate first-world feminist wallflowers from the consequences of their

    own purposefully provocative statements.

In other words, if search engines and ISPs don’t comply with a list of the UN’s censorship

demands, the UN wants national governments to cut off their access to the public.

    Source: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/25/u-n-womens-group-calls-for-web-censorship/

So, what does this mean for us?

Well, for example, VN's, anime, manga, hentai and the likes of those will become blocked

and unavailable on the internet. Since they clearly would hurt their feelings if these women

    ever saw them.

As a true feminist, i call bullshit on this.

Of course, no one should bully or harass anyone, ever, but what they are talking about are

criticism and facts. Anita and Zoe are mad because they have been proven wrong by men

AND woman around the world, and they want it to stop, because they get their feelings hurt.

I really hate that these people get the chance to talk to the UN, and the fact that they claim

to be "the voice of all women on the internet" is retarded and disgusting.

That is really good, i have noticed a lot of new users lately.

    You received hatemail?

    That's weird.

    Commentary on Site Finances:
I just wanted to thank everyone who has generously donated to the site. As soon as I can get Nay’s help with an authentication library (or something like that), I’ve got a slick new donations app which will automate the donation process and make sure you get your goodies instantly.

    Sweet. Good luck with that.

    • Our Google+ page is a lonely, lonely place, but I met a few really nice people on there who have since become friends. So… yay. Google+ did something good.

    People Use Google+?

    Damn..

The critical bottlenecks are currently: open development onto git (or wherever) (which Nay has already done to some extent), finalize the database structure so the other coders can know how it’s structured, roll out the design update with or without an underlying total code revamp, tackle each module one at a time thereafter. (Maef and I have been working on the articles and team builder concepts, and I think they’re going to be pretty great.)

After the bottlenecks are addressed and the rest of the design timeline is sorted out, Nay, maef and I will be posting some more information on the rest of the evil plans.

If you need help with anything, just send me a PM with the

task and i'll take a look at it. Been wanting to help out for

    a long time now.
