  1. Here's what i understood from my barebones knowledge of literature:

    -The games are more akin to writers with completely different philosophies trying to write a coherent story, which leads to the conflict between mystery vs fantasy.

    -Battler's story is just a plot point for Ange's story, therefore it doesn't really matter if it turns out to be a mystery or a fantasy, since it's a doubt that is not really meant to be fulfilled (since i'm brazillian, i'll use the "Dom Casmurro" story for reference to that kind of doubt).

    -It makes me wonder: what would happen if the genres discussion was more explored in some spin-off for the series? Maybe make it so the characters start having crazy discussions about Ange's story being mystery (because of the Ushiromiya killings), fantasy (because of magic events and Ange's strong belief) or Drama (because of the doubt being more relevant than the mystery and the possibility of Ange's belief being mere unreliable narrative).

  2. A little under halfway into chapter 3 of Umineko, and i'd like to know how close this theory is:

    Spoiler

    The culprit is irrelevant, and the only way for Beatrice to lose the game is for the four Ushiromiya sibilings to locate Beatrice via the epitaph riddle and to treat her like a sister rather than a witch, so that "if Beatrice is a lost Ushiromiya sibiling, she's not the witch of the forest". As soon as that realization reaches Maria, she'll stop believing in witches, killing Beatrice's influence and defeating her for good, since a witch can't exist if nobody believes her.

  3. This comes from my weird "greatest = most recognizable" definition:

    Fate Stay Night: Became huge in the visual novel community, just became huge in the anime community and is a little recognizable in the gaming community because of Fate Unlimited Codes and Fate Extra;

    Clannad: Huge in both visual novel and anime communities, barely recognizable in gaming community;

    Higurashi: Same as Clannad, really;

    Steins Gate: Almost the same as Clannad, with a little more recognition from the gaming community.

    On a footnote: With the love Tsukihime got from the visual novel community and the decent sucess of the Melty Blood series, i believe it would be considered the GOAT if it had a sucessful anime.

  4. I was randomly looking up bad endings of games on youtube and came across the School Days bad endings, and i was like "wtf kinda of game is this where that can happen", so i did more research and watched more youtube videos about that genre until i eventually read G-Senjou no Maou and Fate/Stay Night.

  5. Hm, might as well answer. Well, i'm not really into NXT at this point because it seems the main title picture is only gonna really advance once Itami comes back. When it comes to the main roster, the shows are really boring, so you might as well just watch the highlights on youtube, but i'm interested in the Reigns vs Rollins and Wyatt vs Taker storylines. Hopefully Reigns gets the title in november so that more shit can start happening regarding the world title.

    On a sidenote, i find it kinda funny that no one in this "visual novel aficionado" website has any interest in japanese wrestling.

  6. A lot of VNs have routes where you hook up with a particular girl. This feels like an invite for people to come back later, so the situation might be pretty different. In Life Is Strange, during key decisions, you are unable to go back after passing a checkpoint. However, immediately after making the choice, you often are given the chance to try again, so I feel like they might not have committed all the way with this no going back thing. Maybe they never intended to all that much. Unless people go back and start the whole game over, they will miss a decent portion of the content (and perhaps more important, budget), so it can be a tough one to justify.
