  1. Hai! *wave* Welcome to Fuwanovel! Hope you enjoy your time here!

...though Katawa Shoujo is a close second.

Glad to see you enjoyed Katawa Shoujo, too. Who was your favorite heroine? Mine is a tie between Emi and Shizune. Gotta love that spunky personality that they both have.

  2. I'm listening to Calling (Lose My Mind) Extended Club Mix by Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso, featuring Ryan Tedder. Great dance song :3 It's just so happy sounding; you gotta get up and feel that beat.

Here's the video, if you're interested in listening to it. I'd recommend turning the quality up as high as possible and cranking the volume up. It's best when it's a little loud.

  3. Moral of the story? Mount and Blade is not an easy game to "beat".

Yeah, I kinda guessed that. I'm just gonna get to the point where either I've conquered most of the land or I've completely conquered it, I have the best weapons and equipment, and I have high enough skills for the game not to be a challenge anymore. After I beat some other games I'll come back to it, since the experiences change with your playstyle.

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Binding of Isaac. I gotta play more of that game. So addicting.

  4. Just bought a random indie game on Steam called Rogue Legacy. It's a roguelike game based on dungeon-delving and random character spawning. It's hard as HELL. I've died over 20 times, at the very least, and I've barely gotten anywhere. I'd connect a controller if I could, since it's supposed to make things easier, but, alas, I can't.

I've also been playing Mount and Blade: Warband. Basically, you're in a fantasy world where you work your way up to be a powerful lord. You control your own group of mercenaries or loyal men, train them into the best warriors possible, and either fight battles or work diplomatically to improve relations with lords and factions. It's a huge game. I've put in a lot of hours and I've barely scratched the surface. There's so much to do.

After I beat those two, I'll be working on Torchlight II, then going back to GTA IV. Never finished it.

  5. I was just wondering if I should play the games in order of release, or does it matter at all? Kinda wanted to find out, since there's 8 games out now, and I don't wanna play the second-to-last and not get anything in it...I assumed that it wouldn't, but I've heard really good things about Sengoku Rance and wanted to see if I could just go straight to it and understand everything.

Also: Sorry if this post is worded badly or hard to understand, I just got through finals and I'm a bit half-dead.

  6. Thank ye kindly for the welcome!

And I've heard of Katawa Shoujo and I've thought about it. I have been considering it for quite sometime because I hear it's all the rage when it comes to the thing known as "the feels"

Oh my, yes, the feels are OVER 9,000 in Katawa Shoujo. It doesn't even matter which girl you choose to go with, there is so much feels. Feels, feels everywhere. Also, it's funny as hell sometimes.

  7. AWESOME. You love Katawa Shoujo, too. Who's your favorite girl from KS? I can't decide between Emi and Shizune, personally. Gotta love that spunkiness.

As for other VNs, I'd suggest Fate/stay night. Tay, and a few others, suggested it, and so far, it seems like a really high-quality VN. Fully voiced, besides a few H-scenes (as the voices came with the PS2 port, and they didn't include the H-scenes in the port so it would be allowed), and pretty interesting visual mechanics. That, and the story is supposed to be amazing, and so far, I gotta agree. Then again, I'm still in the "prologue" with Rin and Archer, but still. Seems to be pretty good.

  8. Zeno..

    Why not try these games.

Hoshizora no Memoria- A serious must if you love nakige. It has 6 routes which has pretty good stories on each.

Kamidori Alchemy Meister- A very time consuming good hell of a game. Why time consuming? Gameplay, Lvl'ing your characters while going through the chapters of the game via locations.

Requires lot of spamming time to max out your units. (It's too time consuming. After going through the 3 main routes,(Which took about, 15-24 hours each) I just copied a Full save to view the other CG's)

Like Tay said Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo- It's pretty emotional. No other comment.

G-Senjou no Maou- A game made by the creators of Sharin no Kuni. Pretty much has the same intensity as Sharin no Kuni.

Duel Savior- Another time consuming game due to high amounts of game play. Though the story revolving among the MC and the Heroines is great. (~Grr, I want a much better conclusion for the Harem Ending)

DC I And II- Though I haven't played it yet, (since I'm still DL'ing it) I heard many people love it.

Rance Series(Rance 1,2,3,7)- Seriously, You can't stop loving our nymphomaniac hero!

Utawarerumono- Again Gameplay, the ending is so sad. (I really want the 2 now)

That's pretty much it. Oh Wait, Shuffle & Tick! Tack!- Last recommendation

I've also already downloaded Hoshizora no Memoria, too. I wanna try F/SN first, though.

I heard that Sengoku Rance is really good, but I haven't looked too hard at them yet. Is there one in particular that I should start with, or does it not really matter?

I'll look up the others that you suggested, too :3

  9. Zeno!

Again, if it wasn't for the whole Shizune (vs Lilly) thing, I'd think we were soul-brothers and I'd have tons of suggestions for you ; ). As it stands, I can only highly recommend the games I played right after KS and had similar themes:

    • Fate/Stay Night - This game has a lot of action, and lots of people play it for that aspect. For me, however, FSN is a superb example of brilliant, sometimes subtle characterization. FSN was one of the most impactful experiences I've ever had with a VN (or, perhaps, otherwise). How like KS: Great characters that you truly care about and grow to love. Saber, Rin and Sakura are beautiful people, and over the course of the game they become true, deep and abiding "friends". It's a beautiful experience.

    • Sharin no Kuni (Himawari no Shoujo) - This game was nearly as emotional and impactful as KS for me. I really didn't like the protagonist for ~3 hours, but I'm SO glad I stuck with it. The characerization is top-notch, and it shares a LOT of themes with KS. If you're looking for a positive experience to follow KS, this is probably the one to do next. How like KS: Emotionally charged and impactful, great and memorable characters, intriguing world

Like you, I immediately tried to find a similar experience to KS. These two brought me closest, and provided extremely intimate emotional experiences.

I hope you'll let us know what you think of these!

But...I like Lilly, too! I love how she's actually quite humorous underneath her prim and proper act. She made a few hilarious dirty jokes xD

I've actually already downloaded Fate/Stay Night lol I was about to start it today, but I'm glad that it's as good as it looked. I'll get right on it. And I'll be sure to check out Sharin no Kuni (Himawari no Shoujo), too. I really appreciate the suggestions, Tay ^_^

  10. After looking through a long list of VNs, both here and on VNDB, I was slightly intimidated by just how many there are. Probably also doesn't really help that I have no idea how to search using tags, but that's not the point ^_^ I really enjoyed Katawa Shoujo; I liked the romance, the H-scenes were appropriate and had feeling instead of being inserted as the main event with story on the side, and the characters were obviously well thought out. The H-scenes aren't mandatory for a suggestion, though, I just really want a romantic VN that gives you the same feeling of connection to the characters as KS.

Also, just to clarify: When I said "like KS", I don't mean VNs with disabled girls. While I don't mind if the heroines or heroes are disabled, I'm not particularly set on only disabled VNs. Again, the traits I'd like are romance and well-done story, with H-scenes being optional.

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it, since I'm rather new to VNs.

  11. Also how do you find parallels. I ended up going full bootcamp as I kept maxing out the 8gb in my MBPRO.

Well, there's a couple of ways. http://www.parallels.com/ This is the actual link, if you want to buy it, but there are...*coughcough*cheaper*coughcough*...ways of getting it that are surprisingly easy. I got Parallels instead of using Bootcamp since you can easily drag stuff between the Windows window and your actual Mac desktop. Works like a charm.

I already love you, for you love Katawa Shoujo.

: ) Welcome! So glad to have you! I feel similarly about all-ages VNs: they're often awesome! Have a favorite VN? Video game?

PS: Shizune, huh? Was she your favorite heroine? I guess we can still get along and be friends.

    PPS: Lilly forever, baby!

Well, I guess my favorite VN is Katawa Shoujo, since it's my only one so far :3 Video games...let's see...Mass Effect 2, League of Legends, Red Dead Redemption, and the entire Borderlands series. I love them so much.

Shizune is one my favorite heroines, but her facial expressions are adorable, so that's why I picked her for my pic. My favorite is a tie between Shizune and Emi, with Lilly a close second and Hanako in a solid third. Never went the Rin route. She's just...so strange lol

  12. Oh, I've seen a couple Gainax animes; besides PASWG and TTGG, I also watched FLCL. Once of the most random animes I've ever seen lol

I'll make sure to check out your suggestions, though. Thanks for the welcome!

  13. Hello, everyone! *waves* I just made an account today.

I started visual novels with, as my picture indicates, Katawa Shoujo, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I really like romantic VNs with H-scenes, but I do also enjoy the G-rated VNs, too. After looking around for more VNs that I could run on my Mac, I gave up, but as I now have Parallels and can run Windows 7, I'm in for the full experience!

While I'm fairly new to VNs, I've watched anime for at least four years. Some of my personal favorites include Gurren Lagann, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and...well, I can't think of any more off of the top of my head... >_< I've also read several mangas, like Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, and Buso Renkin.

I can't think of anything else to say...oh, well...

    Glad to join your ranks!
