Basically this, they are asking for way more than what is possible. Key/VA takes licensing very seriously, regardless of it being xenophobia or not. When you think about a TL, it actually does edit the content and material, so that is a big factor of big titles rarely getting official localizations.

I guess for me my motivation is the need for something else to do outside of the normal hustle and bustle of life. A few things keep me from possibly having terrible days and that would include gaming, reading (books/VNs), watching anime, and other things such as social interaction. It really does make for good downtime and is just enjoyable overall. I'd say anime is one of the few things I can do while doing other things compared to say VNs or gaming which requires much more focus. At times I can watch anime and get some chores done or something along those lines. The real reason it probably keeps me coming back for more is my enjoyment of the stories and the overall enjoyment factor of what I watch.

I feel like reading the whole thing has its own merits. In terms of the true route being last, it usually is that way in VNs anyways. The theme of murder/violence is prevalent I guess, but it isn't really all that big compared to some other VNs. I think it helps that there are no real CGs for the majority of the violence and the story carries itself pretty well. The objectification of women is one of those touchy subjects, but the theme found in G-Senjou no Maou really makes a lot of sense. Especially considering how the rest of the story unfolds in each of the individual routes.

G-Senjou no Maou is definitely on the more serious side of things. It does have themes of mystery and that of a thriller though.

Most of what you say is factually correct. Of course I'm a bit biased on that point since I helped in the fan restoration patch. However, I can say that the patch was necessary, just the sheer amount of cut content was a bit disappointing. Some of the TL was either too stiff or just plain did not make sense. I just wish they had at least QCed it a bit more before releasing it. On the bright side, we got the community together to work on something and to fix what we saw as a problem.
