Site Work Failed, But We Didn't Die
Ugh. Still more roadblocks. Need to get an as-yet unknown password from Nay in order to get this sucker changed. For now, please enjoy the mess of a forums we've got, and dream of the forums we will
probably never one day have.

Hello everyone, I am all new here but been a long term vn fan I have a big question. What games are translated by visual novel reader? I know there are some with a common route translation, but I would like to find one or two with a translated route at least If you can help me I would be really happy ありがとう in advance!
Everything is working perfectly with this tool. Unfortunately the time the window is shown after hovering over a kanji to look up the meaning is way to short. I have about 2 seconds to read everything and I haven't found any setting where this time can be increased. Any ideas?
ekalz posted a topic in Voluntary Tech SupportHey guys, so I've got this weird problem where the windows of the machine translation of VNR is displayed BEHIND the game window. The only thing I can do is move it outside the window to see it. In fullscreen it isn't visible at all. It gets weirder - it works perfectly fine on my PC. Only the laptop has this issue. I compared the settings multiple times. Everything is identical. The game is "Tokeijikake no Ley Line -Zan'ei no Yoru ga Akeru Toki" Any ideas? - ekalz
I wanted to play 空飛ぶ羊と真夏の花 -When girls wish upon a star using ITH and TA but they won't hook and no h code is available anywhere. So as recommended by a user here I used Visual Novel Reader(VNR) and it will hook.As I am very new to VNR there are some things I can't figure even when consulting a guide(http://sakimichi.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/vnreader-advance-features/). Here are my questions 1. How to parse words in VNR. I have installed Edict on VNR and enabled on the preferences to parse but the window wont come out. All I see is the english translation. When I mean with parse pls refer to the picture below where you can another sentence other than from the game system with kanji and romaji on top of it. I want something like that but in addition I want when I mouse over the word there wouls be an individual translation like in Translator Aggregator. 2.How can I replace certain words with another on. For example in Translator Agregator there is a textfile where I can just edit and put the japanese name and its equivalent English name. While in VNR I use Atlas so Atlas did not recognized the character's Name as a name but as a word making the translation weird.
As I've got quite a few questions about problems with Visual Novel Reader and most of them are about the same errors I'd like to list how to fix them once for all. As I'm lazy I'll just post the most common one today, and if there are other problems feel free to ask. Wrong text is captured like this: Fix: Open "Text Settings" under "Menu" in the left-hand menu Hopefully there is one correct text in one of the text-boxes (get some more text to be sure by clicking in the game), if so set it as "dialog" and "Save" If not try change Text encoding to see if it generates a correct text Not that lucky? Then we have to get the /h code with ITH Quit Visual Novel Reader (right click on springboard, choose "Quit") open up the game and ITH and in it open "Process", choose the game process, click "Attach" and then "OK" Get some text from the game, inspect the text from the text-hooks through pull-down menu and look for a correct one Open "Hook" click "Generate Code" and copy the /H code that appears Get back to Visual Novel Reader and its "Text Settings" window, click "Edit /H Hook Code", paste it, save and voila! If this does not work, try updating Visual Novel Reader and ITH, and in worst case it requires some debugging of the game to get the text-hook manually. How to get furigana a.k.a. install dictionaries: Fix: Right click on spring board, open Preferences, under "Dictionaries" install a dictionary if not already installed Under "Translation" activate the dictionary that is installed under "Preferred Japanese phrase dictionaries" and set last thing to "Hiragana" Check that in the right-hand menu under "Option" that "Game text" is selected I want personal game-specific dictionary like in Translation Aggregator: Open the "Shared dictionaries" in right menu -> Preferences Add a dictionary entry, set it Private if you don't want to share it, and set it Series-specific if it's some name you want it just for that VN
