  1. With confirmation from Vemocleus, we can now start some small, quick game. We shall start then tomorrow at, humm... 20:00 GMT+0 time. If you want, you can still join! I would gladly welcome at least two players more.
  2. Here ya go. I will prod guys which had signed before; and we will wait for, let's say, 3 days. Hopefully, we will have enough guys for small, quick game.
  3. Humm... I think I can safely say I developed some ,,love" for beer, I guess? I really like to discover new styles, different malts and hops used. There's so many things to learn about! And making my own beer... I like it. It easily takes six hours and more to brew beer. And you can easily make mistake, which might destroy your whole work. You need to stay vigilant. But it's you who decide how to make it. Russian Imperial Stout, Koelsh, American India Pale Ale? Caramel malt, abbey style malt, smoked malt? New Zealand hops, American, German? Hard water, soft water? Type of yeast? Proportions, temperature? It's kinda like alchemy, hahah. The best thing, it's cheaper and WAY better than your average beer at shop. I would really like to open my own small brewery someday.
  4. Yea, I would like to confirm who is still willing to play. Some time passed, after all. I gather you still want to play?
  5. Yay for some necroing! It's almost two months already from making this topic. We have some new users, I have more time on my hands; and some people might be now more willing to try out this game. So, bumpitty bump. Feel free to sign up!
  6. Nah, I want machine with good pressure for espresso. The cheap one I have currently has like, 3 bars. Proper espresso should be made with about 10 bars; and there are machines which can put out 16 bars, and probably more. That, and thingy for making milk foam for cappuccino. You can't really buy cheap machine which can put out good water pressure. I think I actually have uber old coffee grinder, though. Never thought about it, might try when I will have spare time.
  7. Huh, it really depends. Sometimes, I would just listen and listen to one piece, then move onto something different. And that one will play in da head then. But according to the mood, something different might pop up. For now, this. Seems like I really need some rest.
  8. Well, in work I prefer some strong, sweet instant coffee with milk. Now, I work in 12 hour system, 3-4 days of work, one day off. It's hard to stay awake sometimes, when you do repetitive, boring job. But on lighter days, I prefer yerba mate or some refreshing green teas. Usually, I buy these in my local tea house. Much better quality, and lots of teas to choose from. At home, I have cheap T-disc express machine. Discs are kinda expensive, but machine can put out suprisingly decent drinks with just pushing one button. That was one reason I bought it to my mum; she can't use complicated technology. Not just coffee, but you can also make tea and hot chocolade; good for kids. Latte is most popular choice in my family. Well, if I will have some cash to spend, I will definitely buy top-shelf express machine. You know, that kind where you use whole beans coffee, and machine mills it by itself. Nom nom nom.
  9. Huh, you too? Well, I think second game is constructed pretty well; you don't really need to play first game, or read books to enjoy it. But first game was pretty good; and you can import your save from first game. Most of important decicions from first game will be then incorporated into second game. The thing is, save has to be made in epilogue part. Darn, I am not gonna replay first Witcher for third time, I don't have that much time on hands Maybe I will just look for appropiate save.
  10. I like scary mangas/VNs/games in general, so I like reading good creepypasta. Russian Sleep Experiment was most memorable for me. And another Russian-themed creepypastas. Or urban stories. The thing is, some of these sound real. Or might be thruthful to some extent. Definitely good writing, if reader starts to think if creepypasta is really real... That's the worst thing about most creepypastas; these sound so false sometimes. It won't scare you as much then, you just read more for spooky story, eh.
  11. Well... I guess this game won't get much more players at this rate. If game would start, and others could see how this game looks in practice, next game would get much more interest - that's how it usually is. Without one additional player - we cannot start, though. 5 is absolute minimum.
  12. Definitely good purchase. For now, I am playing Metro 2033. Nice post-apocalyptic game, and was for free on Steam :>
  13. Well, there's Sengoku Gensokyo game, fan Touhou-game inspired with Sengoku Rance. While it is obvious it's fan-made game; it is really good one. And has quite nice music. The only thing that was irritiating me, it was not consistent style of game sprites. It pains how different those are.
  14. Well, I don't want to force my game, if you don't want to play it. I thought I wouldn't have trouble with gathering some players for quasi-rpg game with shenanigans on VN forum... Welp. But, well, we could play mafia with roles, if that would be more interesting for you. There's an example of game I was modding some while ago: Wanna play something like that?
  15. Yup, I definitely like Mafia. The thing about forum-style mafia is, you do not see reactions of other players - like in real life example. So you need good argument to lynch someone. You need to read other players, bash those suspicious with arguments. It's battle of wits. Vanillia game do not have roles - it makes game simplier. Less fun? Depends. Sometimes, players rely on roles too much; in vanillia they have to rely on their wits alone. One vanillia from time to time is fun. Another thing is, game runs longer than your usual real-life mafia. Day Phase alone can be 72 hours long. So, even if you don't have much time on hands, you can enjoy the game. And everyone have lots of time to read deeply into posts.
  16. Yea, I was thinking really hard about those obvious things just now; seems like I missed the simpliest one. Thanks; and don't be shy about asking, if I forget about something like this. Well, just write here if you are interested. I will ask mods later to clean topic from those ,,I wanna join!" posts later.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLxXeeOSB8w Hello, and welcome to Mafia! Game has psychological nature, yet it retains simple rules. What's more fun, you can freely add another rules, to spice game up. As not everyone probably played this game, I plan on setting normal vanillia - classic - game. For now, at least. Rules: players - minimum group of seven - are divided into town group and mafia. Townies do not have any information - they only know that they are townies. Mafia knows they are scum, and know who is their scumbuddies - so in general, they also know who is in the town. Because Mafia knows much more, they have less numbers. With seven players, there are 5 townies and 2 Mafia players. 9 players - 6 townies, 3 Mafia players, 11 players - 7 townies, 4 Mafia players, and so on. Game is divided into two parts: Day Phase and Night Phase. During Day Phase, everyone can freely write in topic, trying to guess who is in Mafia - and Mafia members try to avoid suspicion, or throw it on someone else. Every player has one vote. There are different types of voting out there - to make this game easier, there will be hammervoting: one player to gather 50%+1 votes gets lynched. Day Phase ends with lynch, with all votes being cast, or with general inactivity - I will poke you to take action, before I will end Phase because of inactivity, though. After Day Phase, Night Phase begins. During Night Phase, Mafia can freely kill one of the players. They can decide by democratic means; on they can choose leader, which will make decisions. After that, another Day Phase begins, and so on. Upon death, a role of dead player will be shown. Usually with appropiate copy of sent PM with information about role. It's called roleflip. So, every additional roleflip is precious information for town; especially if player was in mafia. Townies have to lynch all of Mafia players to win. Mafia has to make their number of players equal to number of Townies to win. Basic guide from MafiaWiki: http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Newbie_Guide And nice guide in flash form: http://cataldo.freeshell.org/mafia/mafiascum04.swf Any particular flavor of game you would want to have? Umineko, Killer Queen? I am open for propositions. On another note; while I am pretty fluent in writing in my native language, I could make some mistakes there and there. Excuse me. Additional rules: 1. Private Messages are allowed. I need to know what are you writing, though. If I am not mistaken, you can just invite me to conversation; please do so. On different style of forums, you would have to send me copies; but this style of forum makes things easier for us. 2. You CANNOT quote my Private Messages sent to you. You have to pharaphrase those instead. Imagine my messages as Red Thruth. Another players cannot deny Red Thruth, so it kills discussion. And kills fun. It's bad. As long as you write about my messages using your own words, everything is okay. 3. Use red colour to vote on someone. For example, Painiac. Writing in bold helps me notice yours votes, too. Use blue colour if you want to vote on someone, but you already voting on someone else. That's useful for threating someone - it's so called Finger of Suspicion, FoS. Write in bold to ask question to someone, for example, Painiac. I will try to answer ASAP. 4. In general, Day Phase is 72 hours long - but if discussion is alive and so on, I won't end it. I will move in only in case of inactivity, someone being lynched, or all votes being cast. Night Phase is 24 hours long, or shorter - depends on how fast I will get answer. 5. Dead players can post one ,,bah, I am dead!" post after being killed in game. Try to keep it short, and don't spam, please. 6. DO NOT edit posts. Check your post twice before sending. And do not even try editing 2-3 days old posts, that's heavy offence. 7. Try to post at least once per day. Inactive players will be swapped, or killed off. Well, that's should be everything... If you have more questions, you can ask here or by PM. Don't be shy; try. List of the players: 1. Tiagofvarela 2. Yatsufusa 3. Vemocleus 4. Cofee 5. Tyrael
  18. If you consider that Fallout was partially inspired by Mad Max, yeah. Another thing, I fear it would have looks of Fallout 3. I don't think I will ever touch that game... Elder Scrolls movie? If they would make something like LOTR... or at least Willow/Conan the Barbarian. I saw movie long time ago placed in Elder Scrolls world... it was grade C movie, if not worse.
  19. Huh, there are lots of different beer styles. And the best thing is, there's almost nothing that stops you from inventing new tastes. For example, they produce oyster beer in New Zealand... When you make wine, you just put grapes in, mash them, you might add yeast... that's it. When making beer, you decide about type of malt - barley, wheat, rye, for example. You can add oat or rice. Those malts can be made in different ways - caramel malts, chocolade, roasted, even smoked! Did you drank smoked wine? I drank smoked wheat beer. Really tasty. There are different yeasts which give different flavors to beer - like in English ales, Belgian monastery beers, German lagers... And hops! American hops, which smells like citrus fruits, resin. English hops, Bohemian hops, Bavarian... Even water is important. In some styles, you might even add gypsum to make water nicely bitter. So, there are strong, sweet, aromatic beers like Baltic Porter, incredibly hoppy like American IPA, beers with honey, with added lactose sugar, or with cinnamon and other spices. Dismissing beer just because there's lots of cheap, commercial beer around... b'duh.
  20. I would like to see anime adaptation of Chrono Trigger. Darn.
  21. Definitely Japanese. I am pretty snobish when it comes to Polish anime/manga/VN translations... Those sound sooo artificial sometimes. Like they begun speaking with squares and rectangulars... even friggin mangas which you can - by grace of God or other miracle - buy in bookstores. Let's be honest there; it's hard to find good quality Polish translations. I have no problems with reading in English; so I already have access to good translations of most popular positions. I don't need to risk my time on some wannabe-translator kids; which will input crap into subtitles for no reason, for example. The thing is, not everyone can read English. So lots of people gonna be stuck with Polish tranlations anyway. That reason alone makes translation project pretty worthy. Buuut, on another note. The more obscure and niche thing is, the more probability that such person already know English. You can't find good info about VNs in Polish; if even English sources are lacking. Dunno. If you want to translate something, have a go - why not. If you don't want to - then don't. You won't get paid for this or something, so just enjoy your work. I am pretty positive that nobody used my translation for fan-made Umineko story... but I had great deal of fun with rereading work, tinkering with files and so on.
  22. Yea, that's pretty right. I just beat Gothic I again like, month ago. Polish version has great voice acting. Polish translations/voice acting can be really good, especially in older games and RPGs. I have great deal of NES roms; and I play once in a while game from Kunio-kun series. Basketball, or football. Well, Goal 3 was one of the best games on NES after all. When my nieces want to play on computer, I specifically want to play with them togheter. And lots of NES titles allow that. Like Battletoads. Also, Metal Slug. They like Touhou 12.3 the most, huh. Probably because is really colorful and full of different characters. Heroes of Might & Magic III is the game which always sits on my computer, no matter what. This, and Quake 3 Arena. I think I have... 8 years old saves in HoMM. Wow. I played recently XCOM: Ufo Defense, Comando, Age of Wonders. And I have old Bruce Lee game from Commodore 64, remade to work on PC. Loads and loads of old games. Yup, some of those already have good graphics, which always looks pretty well, no matter how old it is. The style, the artworks are more important for me, than how water and wind works in game... And besides graphics, they offer interesting plots and music - something, which new games don't always have. Finding old, forgotten game might be better thing to do, instead of playing newest redintion of CoD or something like that, brr.
  23. I wouldn't be so fast with dismissing possibility of putting in game polish font, instead of japanese bushes. That wouldn't be easy I imagine, but not impossible - and worth a try. Because setting special sign to polish diacritic mark will make using that specific sign impossible. I bet that somewhere - you will need one of those. Programs are like Old Testament gods - lots of rules, and no mercy... While it is fast solution, it's not optimal. The bigger the work, the most optimal solution you will need. And I think you would find it easier to type freely polish content in polish font, without that whole roundabout way of using diacritics. Yea, I get that you will need paraphasing some content. That's pretty common in VNs. Unless you will hack into game itself - or game is easily modified - you can't change textboxes.
  24. Well, while I greatly enjoyed 999 and Ever17, Remember11 and Never7 weren't that good. I really hate how vague Remember11 is; yet drops a lot of info in endings. Which still doesn't tell that much... The cherry on the top? It seems like even authors do not agree on Remember11 plot and endings. Never7 is quite old, and first game in Infinity series, so I did not expected too much... I really liked voice acting. I really hated how this VN sat on my computer for month or two, because I didn't had any idea why game didn't want to run. And, duh... there's too much attention on clearing some random girl route, instead of looking for answers and so on. The first impression is - wow, there's mystery, something to solve!- and after that, load of bishoujo crap :x
  25. Well, while cities have normal/respectable names, the names of villages... the names of SMALL villages... Some of them are just bonkers. Like, you are driving through some area, and you enter Large Pants village, then drive through Small Pants village. No kidding. Wolven Muds, Chicken Feets... Of course not all of them are like that; but you can get sometimes some chuckles from reading accurate map. In some region - for example, Pomerania - it's kinda different. There are Polish names for cities and villages, of course; but lots of those have German roots, and have German version names. For example, Słupsk-Stolp, Szczecin-Stettin, Swołowo-Schwolow, Krzemienica-Steinwald. Kinda cool.
