when you want to compare stuff you use 方 (hou) to indicate that something is better than something else for example: 雪ちゃんの方が可愛い yuki-chan is more kawaii or you could say: やまださんの方が、あやせより早い yamada is faster than ayase but 方（kata) is used with a verb and turns it into a noun , you just attach the pre-masu form with (kata) for example:行く it becomes 行き方 it means the way to go 東京の行き方をお教えてくれますか？ can you tell me the way to go to tokyo? and because it's a noun we use the particle の　instead of に，へ check out this http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar/comparison it will help much more

One of the books i used was called ultimate japanese:Basic-Intermediate,it has 40 lessons that takes you from the beginner level to an intermediate the 40 lessons contains:authentic dialogues vocabulary, grammar, and usage cultural highlights it's really good i'd recommend it if your starting out http://depositfiles.com/files/7jtd6nh8w there is also a sequel advanced japanese but it only contains 15 lessons

Hello everyone,i've known Fuwanovel for a quite sometime now but i was just too shy to to actually sign up and introduce myself. soooo,i've started watching Anime and playing VN's after picking up Japanese and so far i've read Grisaia no kajitsu,shinigami no kiss wa wakare no aji,and ikinari anata ni koishiteiru, as you can see i'm fairly new to the VN world (if you have any VN you would recommend please tell me.) and i'm currently reading kimi to kanojo to kanojo no koi,and cocoro function I hope we can get along どうぞよろしく *To break the ice feel free to ask me anything and why don't you tell me something about yourself (if anything sounded weird sorry in advance English isn't my first language)
