  1. Though you're totally going to wear out your skip button on Chinami. Still worth playing. I also suggest Katawa Shoujo. It was my first real VN as well, and (though I have some specific circumstances that have lead to this opinion) I think its fantastic.
  2. Ah, man. This is the first VN I've played where that's even an option, so I was actually really looking forward to it.
  3. Unfortunately not talking about Grisaia, though Sachi is totally the best route in that game, by far. I mean chapter. I'm going to focus on the heroines in reverse order, going Natsumi, then Touka, then Sachi, then Harem, then secret heroine (though it's pretty obvious who the secret heroine is going to be.) (Also, yes, I totally use guides whenever I play VNs. Forgive me.)
  4. Sharin no Kuni is awesome so far.

  5. I just finished Sachi's route in Sharin no Kuni. I'm loving the game so far.
  6. I lost my mind when I heard this version of this song: My god. I actually know a lot of sad music from outside the world of video games/VNs, as it's kind of my thing. I have a whole lot more, but I'll stop there for now
  7. I didn't plan on deleting any, but my HDD is approaching full capacity to to my insane habit of never deleting any episodes of any podcast, and I listen to around 6 different shows that range from 1-4 hours a week. I need to get an external solution for this problem, but for now, I have to deal with deleting my beloved VNs.
  8. Yeah, it was definitely not my favorite thing in the world, haha! Anyways, I've gotta turn in or I'll be up all night now O.o
  9. Don't play Remember 11. Your brain deserves better.

  10. I hadn't heard it until I looked it up just now, but yeah, that's a pretty great song. Have you listened to any of the music from Chrono Cross? I've never actually played the game, but the soundtrack is incredible. Ephemeral Memory is probably my favorite track, but the entire thing is just amazing.
  11. I like A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask both better, but I grew up playing Ocarina of Time and I will never be able to see it as anything other than amazing because of that. Also, I really love the music of the Zelda games, and Ocarina had some of the best in the series, in my opinion. I'm a music guy, by the way. Music is awesome.
  12. Other people have already recommended Fate/Stay Night, and I'm going to have to join in. It's pretty good. It's not the best thing you'll ever play, and it has some (totally unnecessary) H-scenes that are downright weird (like, weirder than they usually are, the first one you come across still creeps me out) but it's still pretty damn good. Highly recommended.
  13. Missile was pretty awesome in general. God, that game is good. I need to go back and play it again. But an ex-roommate has my copy of it and that situation is... awkward and I don't think I'm ever going to ask for it back. I hope the IOS version is as good as the DS one was. Seriously, if anyone here owns a DS or an IOS device, Ghost Trick is totally worth your time. Yeah, it's not a VN, but its story is completely mind bending and the gameplay aspects of it aren't all that involved.
  14. I thought that revealing that the ending is It's probably completely unnecessary, I just don't want to even risk ruining it for anyone else. Being pulled along by that little thread was fun for me. Also, hell yeah, Sissel. I was thinking about going with Missile, because holy shit Ghost Trick, but didn't want a dog as a profile image. Edit: I'm pretty new here, I guess I should check if swearing is okay before doing it. Am I good? Or do I need to edit that out?
  15. I actually enjoy both elements quite a bit, so I suppose I will play Never 7. I was thinking about just leaving it alone, since Remember 11 put such a sour taste in my mouth, but now it sounds like it's worth my time. Thanks for the heads up! Also, The Edgeworth pic: badass. Ace Attorney is my favorite series of any genre of game.
  16. So, that wasn't the planned ending at all, the developers just had to make do with what they could.
  17. You should add Umineko no Naku Koro ni to your "to read" list, just don't be fooled by the Official Theory. I'm also learning japanese, online, and I wish you good luck. To help, you can see this thread for useful resources. Hope you have fun and I'll see you around. Thank you for pointing me to that thread! I'm actually playing it right now! I'm not very far yet, though.
  18. I just started Sharin no Kuni, I hope it's as awesome as everyone says it is. This is coming off of having just finished Remember 11, which really bugged the hell out of me. What a garbage ending. I was really expecting it to be something on the level of Ever 17, but no, it didn't even come close. And in non VN news, I just finished Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright. It's pretty awesome, though it really feels like a Professor Layton game that Phoenix and Maya just happened to show up in. I feel like if the story was just a little less nonsensical, it could have been better. Still, if you're a fan of either series, I think it's worth picking up, and if you're a fan of both than it's a must-buy. Though I have to admit, the puzzles are really weak compared to other Layton titles. The court stuff is generally pretty good, with some new mechanics that make it feel like a pretty unique Ace Attorney experience.
  19. Hmmm... I think it's either Katawa Shoujo (for the reason I discussed above) or Ever 17. I already have, no worries there! Do you like traps? If you do, you are one step closer to paradise on earth. Read Sharin no kuni~~~ its my fav vn, and i hope you will like it too. P.S since u said u like games. Is there any chance that u are Ar Tonelico fan? I'm actually not quite sure what a trap is, honestly 0.o Oh, and I actually just started Sharin no Kuni! And I've never heard of Ar Teonelico, but I will give it a try sometime. Sure, I'd love one! If you need a character to base it on, I really adore Miyako from Majikoi <3
  20. Hey, everyone. I made an account here some time ago (I actually can't remember when, to be honest) but promptly forgot about it and never posted anything. Upon revisiting these forums, however, I realized that I want to be a part of this community in at least some small way. I thought I'd introduce myself. I've been playing VNs since February of this year. If you count the Ace Attorney series as VNs, then I've been playing since a few years after Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney came out on the DS in America. I guess my love for that series is a small part of what introduced me to the existence of the Visual Novel genre in the first place, though I didn't try one for the longest time. I finally cracked and played one last February. It was (I know it's typical, but hear me out) Katawa Shoujo. I have only played one route of that game, and I will probably never play any of the others. The reason being that the route I played was Hanako's route, and I... happen to be a burn victim, actually. I'm lucky in that my scarring is entirely restricted to my legs, but it's still severe enough that I get weird looks when it's not covered up. I was also recovering from a pretty nasty breakup at the time, so Hanako's route in Katawa Shoujo hit me in just about every emotional weak point I had. I bawled my eyes out at parts of that route. I can't go back to that game because of how hard it hit me. I think it's incredible, and not overrated in the least. After that, I realized that this genre obviously had something to offer, and I've delved in a little deeper. I've since played Ever 17, Shuffle, Hoshizora no Memoria, Shinikiss, G Senjou no Maou, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Fate/Stay Night, Majikoi (well, all of what's translated, at least), and others that I can't seem to remember at the moment. Oh, speaking of remembering, I did just finish Remember 11, which was extremely dissatisfying. I also really love music, and play the guitar. I have a real wanting to learn Japanese, but there are no courses near where I live and I have no idea where to start when it comes to learning online. I also play a number of other genres of games. I play anything from Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Rogue's Legacy. I really do like video games. I just finished Dishonored (Games with Gold, am I right?) which was pretty awesome. Anyways, that's me. I hope I can actually be a part of this community!
