  1. When I get at least one of the good endings + see everything that I want to see (which usually means finish all routes, but not always.) I always get True Endings where that's applicable.
  2. It's definitely not just that, but that doesn't make it good. (in my opinion, of course.)
  3. Not compromised. Fuck the guys who did this, though.
  4. Finally got some sleep today. Let's see if I can manage it again.

  5. I wanted to weigh in on the F/SN H-scene debate. And by "weigh in" I mean say they're all total garbage and I honestly wish they weren't in there. I started Persona 3 FES after posting that. Totally unsure of my ability to tackle that and a VN at the same time. I mean, the game is definitely a beast. If I do start a VN to play in tandem with P3, it'll probably be Never 7.
  6. In the last 48 hours, I have gotten less than two hours of sleep. I feel sick.

  7. I finished up Sharin no Kuni, aside from one of the epilogues, which I'm running the game in the background occasionally checking back to click choices in order to see. After this one, I'm not sure what's next. Maybe I'll hold off on VNs for a minute and finally get around to finishing my copy of Persona 3 FES. Not sure yet.
  8. Having recently finished Remember 11, I don't think it belongs on this list, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm really glad you made this list, as it does give me a sense of direction when looking for new VNs to play!
  9. Do you ever have those nights where both your brain and body are tired to the point where you feel sick but you still can't fall asleep?

  10. Hey all, I just wanted to ask for a bit of advice regarding where to start when it comes to watching anime. I personally have watched several shows, but I still feel like I haven't really "broken in" to the medium. I feel like I'm still missing something and that if I had it, I would be able to enjoy anime a lot more. Are there any specific shows I should watch to get a foothold in the medium, so that I can start to enjoy other shows more? I also wanted to know how you guys manage to keep up with all the new stuff. I see what's coming out and I have no idea where to start, or what's worth my time. I actually really want to enjoy anime more than I do, so if anyone can help me out here, that would be greatly appreciated! I guess I should state what little I know about my tastes. I am not really into shounen, though I feel like I could be, if there are any particularly good ones. I'm not averse to ecchi either. I really enjoyed High School DxD, for more than just the boobs, too. I really like mushy romantic stuff, and thoroughly enjoyed Toradora, which I finished recently. For more specific stuff, you can see my MAL page, but you totally don't have to go to the trouble, or anything.
  11. I'm a pretty big Pokemon fan, too. good to see this thread. I'm not really capable of being competitive, though I do have a few competitive 'mons. My favorite being my Magic Guard Alakazam.
  12. It basically said I'm from California, which I'm not, but I did grow up in the western states, and most of us talk the pretty much same there as in the other western states, so close enough.
  13. I'm completely ill. Ugh.

  14. Technically, my first VN was Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I loved it. It is still one of (as in, second or first place) my favorite video game franchises, period. The thing is, I definitely didn't see it as a VN when I was playing it. I saw it as more of a Japanese take on the "Adventure Game" genre, with all the pixel hunting and moving from location to location. I still see it as more of an Adventure game than a VN, but hey, if it's under the VN label too, it certainly doesn't hurt me in any way. The first time I consciously played a VN was Katawa Shoujo. And my god, that game. I happen to be a burn victim with severe scarring, and the first route I played (entirely by chance) was Hanako's route, and it blew me away. I have some very similar social anxiety problems (though not as severe) and deal with the self-consciousness that comes with having burn scars on a daily basis. I'm lucky in that my scarring is restricted to my legs, so I can cover it up, but I still felt an extremely close connection to Hanako. I feel like they tackled the issues someone with severe scarring goes through fairly well. I actually wrote an in-depth blog post about my personal reaction to the game as a burn victim on another site (along with the details of my accident), maybe I'll link to it on Fuwanovel sometime. That time is not now, though. Not quite ready yet, I want to be a bit more established here before I go spilling my guts in such a transparent way. Needless to say, any reservations I had about enjoying the VN genre were totally gone after that experience, and I got a lot more into it. Finding out that the Ace Attorney games are also considered Visual Novels just cemented my interest even further.
  15. I just finished Sharin no Kuni last night before falling asleep, and I have to say that it is absolutely excellent, just like everyone says. I had one issue with the ending and that was But still, that game is fantastic. I do still have to run through and get the other epilogues.
  16. The best use of the word "trite" is in the third Ace Attorney game. Also never heard "porcine", either. I must have completely ignored it when I played G-senjou.
  17. I'm fairly new here, too. Welcome! Dark Souls is a fantastic game, excellent choice of a favorite, there.
  18. I just finished watching Toradora, it was pretty great. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to anime, so I have no idea if it's actually good or not. I just know that I enjoyed it.
