    Puella Magi Madoka Magica definitely surprised the hell out of me. I was forced to watch that, looked like another cruddy magical girl show. But that episode...pulled the rug from under my feet. Was completely blown away. And i must say, I am eager for the coming movie. And yes, this was before i was familiar with Shaft's works.

    Ok.... More hate coming my way. I HATED Puella Magi Madoka Magica!!!!

    Soooooo over-hyped. I was so disappointed I actually gave away the copy I bought. Maybe I had too high expectations, but man that was horrible! (Again my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions)

    I'd have to make 1000000000 posts to completely answer that man. Im going to have to think about that........

    I'd have to say Panty & Stocking and Garterbelt. I went into it thinking it was going to be stupid Cartoon Network type show, but what I got was a crude, vulgar, funny and utterly epic show that I actually own on both DVD and Blu Ray.

    As far as disappointing hmmm....

    I'm probably going to make some people mad but Code Geass really disappointed me! I was really excited about it when it came out but it fell flat. (My opinion of course)

    yeah its one of my all time favorites. Epic!!

    Actually she does, we always watch a show before bed together! Right now it's Tari Tari, before that it was Kotoura-san, before that was Hanasaku Iroha (which is now one of her favorites) and Honey and Clover was before that (which is one of her absolute favorites now) and before that, well, I don't remember, but you get the picture, she loves anime as well. having said that I STILL do not want her doing the math, LOL

    hahahaha i hear ya. I agree about Hanasaku Iroha, my wife and I really enjoyed it. The movie is fantastic as well. I recently got a chance to see an unsubbed version and it picks up right where the series left off. Anyway, glad to see another married person on the forums. I look forward to having some anime talk with you.

    Ryoji is an interesting mammal. If you've seen his MAL, you know that he's essentially the all-powerful super-uncle of the Anime gods. (I think that's a fantastic potential title for him, actually...)

    EDIT: thinking about your post Tay, Ive noticed that a lot of my friends over the years, kinda lost interest in Anime. Although I have a few that are as die-hard as I am, Ive definitely seen that happen. I guess it depends on the person/situation. With age, comes responsibility, thus leading to less time in the day for other activities. I know that during my 20+ years in the Marines, my anime activity dropped a bunch. Now that im retired, thats not an issue.

    In regards to my MAL, whats crazy is its not finished. I just got discouraged because it wouldnt show the complete list (it was too long apparently)

    Crunchyroll, HULU, torrents from bakabt, and if I can buy it and I like it I buy it, I hate to even think how much I have spent on anime, and I damn sure don't want the Little Lady (yes, I am married and yes I watch anime, lol) to actually add up how much, lol

    lol ive been married over 20 years. The key to ensure your anime happiness, is to convert the Mrs into loving anime as much as you do!! Trust me, it makes life soooo much easier!!

    Hey guys!

    As the influx of new members continues, I decided to re-introduce myself to everyone.

    My name is Ryoji and I'm the Forum Director here. Do to recent health problems (Heart Surgery) I was gone for a while. As all of you know, this is a wonderful community, full of great people. We have a wonderful Staff and I just wanted to say Thank You to them, for continuing to do such a great job. Its really heart warming to see how much the community has grown and to see all the awesome new members. I really am happy that everyone is so active. I wanted you all to know, that if you EVER need anything, or you have any questions feel free to send me a PM and Ill try to get back to you ASAP. As I'm still not 100%, I will not be as active as I should be, but if you need anything message any of the other staff and they will take care of any problems/questions you have.

    I realize that I have some catching up to do, so many new threads and stuff to read :)/> I have a lot of PM's that I am reading and will answer them as soon as I can, so Im not ignoring you, just trying to get caught up.

    Well I think thats it. Once again, WELCOME to all the new members. I hope we will become great friends and I look forward to getting to know you!!

    I use torrents to watch unlicenced anime. But it should be known that I have spent thousands of dollars on my anime collection. If theres a show I like I buy it.

    My collection started with Laser Disks and VHS. Now I own hundreds of DVD's Blu Rays ect. I believe in supporting the anime industry. While I do "Pirate" anime, I more then make up for it in my empty wallet. FOr instance, I just recieved a huge shipment of anime (thanks to my wonderful wife)

    There are a few great torrent sites for anime. If anyone wants the links send me a PM.

    and I can name one that "anime fans" think is the greatest ever, but is actually gods aweful in every conceivable way.

    give you a hint. it begins with an e and ends with vangelion.

    Man I'd love to have a serious anime talk with you some day my friend. Have a more complex conversation. I'm curious to see how deep your anime knowledge truly is.

    I can count on 1 hand the people who can keep up with me lol. I've been a fan do long it would be nice to have a good discussion about anime history and what your favorites are.

    I'm thinking about making a history of anime topic. There are a lot of people new to anime that might like it.
