  1. Hey guys, I am quick to admit that Visual Novels are a relative new joy for me. Ive played Clannad, Tomoyo After, Kanon to completion. I'm in the middle of a couple more.

What id like from you guys, is to tell me what your favorites are. What would you recommend. I like anything but Otome. So Genre don't really matter.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ryo

  2. I think people want the anime ones too, like Kokoro no Connect, or Koichoco, or Oreimo or Haganai, or Sword Art Online, ro ku bu, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi, Ao no Exorcist, Guilty Crown, etc

I know id love to have Oreimo and Ao no Exorcist!!

  3. Okay all, I've talked with a Russian hacker who either worked on the game or on a patch for it. Before I go any further, I want to assure you that this game works: it worked for me on 3 machines, it worked for the hacker and his team, and it worked for Aaeru.

Here are the steps that led to 99% error solutions on a Russian VN site:

    1) BOOT THE GAME FROM "Start_Game.bat" NOT "Phenomeno_en.exe"

    2) The main menu is in Japanese. Click the top-most and left-most japanese words to start the game. After the first "Start Game", the main menu may change. Don't freak out, it's normal.

n-2) Make sure you have a decent video codec installed

n-1) Make sure your video card drivers are updated

n-0.5) Make sure your sound card drivers are updated

    n) If all of this fails, try running the game ("Start_Game.bat") using an English (US) System Locale

EDIT: If running on Vista, there may be other problems. The hacker said, "If that's the case, we're sorry, but we don't care. Vista is terrible."

OK, Tay is absolutely correct. I had been trying to play from Phenomeno_en.exe. To be honest, i didnt even see the Start_game.bat. I feel foolish lol.

Thanks Tay for explaining the situation and verifying that the game works!!

  4. This will hopefully mean a faster release for all versions of little busters patches, which is awesome~ and we might even see them pick up some other VN. Gotta give props to them for the incentives

I can guarantee faster releases now. The guys at Doki are very good. With this merger, it only spells GOODNESS for us fans in the future!!

  5. Great that you have the time to really dig in now! Sounds like you've become a fan of key works? Or were you already a fan from their anime?

What are some genres you like or are interesting in experimenting with?

Hmm. I am a fan of Key, thats for sure. Anime has been a huge part of my life. I watch the new shows every season lol. I guess you can call me obsessed. I have over 30 bluray and 150 dvd's. I have a HUGE manga collection as well. A lot of my collection as I said is on VCD and VHS, therefore unavailable in the bluray or DVD.

In regards to what genres, i like pretty much everything. However, i will say that Naruto and Bleach have gotten stale and lame.

As far as VN's go, I want to experience it all. Well except Yaoi, no interest in that lol.

I'm actually quite curious about your tastes too! Don't often find many anime pple in the military - what kinds of titles did you use to follow? Got any favourites?

    @ Harry,

You'd be surprised how many soldiers love anime. I have several friends who have huge collections. Actually, a few will be coming to join the forum soon and trying out our great VN's ;)

  6. Hey guys, exciting news in the world of Little Busters translator team Fluffy. According to Doki's website Doki/Fluffy Merge

Team Fluffy (Little Busters! VN Team) will merge into the Doki VN Department. This will allow coders on both teams to collaborate to improve the hacking tools for the key visual novels. In addition, the merge should mean that projects will get finished quicker than originally planned.

Delwack will succeed Clannad_Man as the head of the VN Department. I am sure Del will do a great job, so please give him your support!

In order to ensure that future VN projects run smoothly, it will be necessary to recruit another dedicated VN translator.

    For more info, follow link.

Anyone interested in being a translator for this wonderful group just follow the link for the info!!

This is exciting news. Doki is, as you know, the team that finished Tomoyo After. Im so excited about this, how about u guys??

  7. Hi there Ryoji, welcome aboard! Thanks for helping out!

Wow it's great to have such a veteran in more ways than one! I read that in the early days, "japanimation" as it was called back then had to be physically copied on VCR tapes and physically distributed amongst the small underground circle. We've sure come along way! Were you a longtime VN fan as well or was that more recent?

    Here's to your health!

You know its funny you say that. I have over 300 VHS tapes and 250 VCD, or Video Disks, which are as big as old school Vinyl records. lol Lots of money spent on a media that i cant play anymore lol.

    Anyway, thanks for your welcome!!

I just discovered the joy of VN's. Ive played Clannad, Kanon and Tomoya After to completion. In the middle of Deardrops and Ever17. Im hooked lol.

Ive always know about them, but never had the time to play any due to being active duty Military. Now that im retired, i can enjoy all the time ;)

  8. Hey guys,

Names Ryoji, as a fan of all things Anime, Manga and Visual Novel, it was by chance that i found this great site. At the request of Aaeru, I have begun helping out with the various Admin stuff that had needed to be done. I have already fixed and/or added the links that were missing for each Visual Novel. Of course, that's just the beginning so i thought id introduce myself to all of you.

A little bit about myself, I spent 22 years in the United States Marine Corps. I was gravely wounded in Iraq so now i am retired. Ive been a fan of Japanese Anime for over 20 years. Been to Japan several times, and love the culture and all things Japan, so it was inevitable that I find my way here. I look forward to working with you guys.

Well, that's it for now, if anyone has any questions, or whatever, just let me know.

    Ryo
