  1. Under my umbrella, ella, ella, E E E Oh, that one doesn't work in English...
  2. I've reached the last route or "Saga" (as the VN calls is) of Cho Dengeki Stryker. As long as the writers don't mess that one up horribly the VN is a pretty fun read. It's really good at mocking many of the tropes you would expect from a superhero vs. evil empire story aimed at children like the villains and protagonist living next door without recognizing each other in their civilian outfits. But it still manages to always take its characters serious enough to keep the reader engaged. The story gets darker than I expected (the whole Mirror thing is pretty messed up) which really helps the VN imo because this way it feels like there really is something at stake and it shakes up the black/white morals you often get in these kinds of stories. The only real weakness imo was Haruna's character because she is too one-dimensional and stereotypical for her importance to the overall plot, which weakens the impact of some of the more emotional scenes.
  3. Welcome to my introduction thread and to fuwanovel of course!
  4. Yeah, and the stories get darker as the game progresses. How far into the game are you right now?
  5. Let's just say it takes quite a while until you get to a positive note that's not just there to make you feel even more despair when things go downhill. At least the art never becomes too graphical.
  6. They are (disregarding tapirs)! edit: I should probably try to add at least a bit more info about myself to my introduction than just my favourite animal. My favourite VNs are 999, Steins;Gate and Danganronpa 2, closely followed by Muv Luv Alternative (the hours of people just discussing the concepts that motivate them and the ridiculous female uniforms let it fall short by just a tiny bit). I have a weak spot for well written tsunderes but don't like a few other tropes like all the girls always being in love with the protagonist even in stories that do not revolve around romance, but I can usually overlook them as long as they are not too obnoxious.
  7. Didn't he tell it in a way that seemed like Maou was about to shoot first or something? For the most part I really liked G-Senjou. The pacing was great, the mystery was build up well, the writers avoided too many logical holes (at least in the true route). But every once in a while, the story was haunted by severe lazy writing that undermined the otherwise clever storytelling.
  8. Thanks! English language VNs are fine, otherwise I would be in trouble because there are very few VNs with German translations. I'm planning on finishing Cho Dengeki Stryker first and I still have Dies Irae and Root Double in my library but after that I could probably use some help with picking my next title.
  9. Does the game explain why Haru did not visit Kyousuke while he was in prison? Everyone else did and I cannot imagine she could not even get one free day for 8 years. Or at least write him a letter. This way it seems like she just did not tell him so the ending would get more emotional.
  10. It's been about one year since I really got into VNs. By now I've probably read most of the canonical must-reads that are easily available in Germany but am still addicted to the medium and looking for more. But since VNs are quite obscure (at least with the people I know) it's nice to find a place where you can share thoughts about them and hear second opinions.
