  1. Enjoying books is all about escapism. When reading you can disconnect yourself from the real world and go off somewhere else for a while without using drugs or being crazy.

Although how cynical I am about things like this. I don't feel that's a correct way of thinking about it. It's no more escapism to read a book, compared chopping up wood with an axe or playing a instrument. It's all an act of focus and concentration. Your focus of the world actively goes to one thing and the rest fades out. If you do this because you want to escape the world. Then it's escapism. Otherwise, it's not.

There's no secret to reading books. There are millions of way to enjoy reading, and different readers will enjoy different books for different reasons. We can tell you various reasons why we enjoy reading but that might not even resonate with you.

I agree with Down here. Loads of different ways of going at this. I hope you'll find some value in what other people think as well as mine. So likewise I'll parade my opinion here as well!

I think as others in this thread have mentioned it's important to consider what you want from the book. Not what some given book wants to show you. So you should try to choose what you want yourself to read and might enjoy.

I choose my books out of a few credentials. By thinking about these when I choose a book, I know what I want to get out from it before I even open it. When  I read the book I enjoy what I want from it, if it doesn't give what I expected. I either try harder to get something out of it, or drop it.

The mains sides of enjoyment of reading a book for me is simply put:

    • The immersion into the world, you become the characters and feeling the world around you.
    • The concepts, the structure of space combat or a supreme control by the state etc.
    • The setting, the world is lit by how you view things. How is this world different from our world and what does that mean? Try to be as neutral as possible.
    • The prose, how does the writing flow. How is the exposition of the story laid out, does side characters suddenly fade away?
    • The Literary value, compare this book to other works. Similarity between writers and stories.

I personally think this is a very important process to do with anything really you find boring. Especially Work and school related. Anything is boring as fuck if you can't find value in it. That's why you need to find it yourself. In the process you also widen your horizons. Just the last part I think has a lot of value.

  2. I don't remember well how it was but you need to change you computer's date to something like before 2010 was it? And then install the crack after it. Then you can change your date back and it wont expire.

I don't know about buying it.

Yeah, before 2010. After you've installed it. you can set the time back to normal. That's prbly what happened wrong with your install.

  3. I think this question comes down to, do you value another person/(concept of life) more than your own life? I can see why you might choose another person. In my mind right now. I think thats wrong. As much as another person life is sacred. I think my life is as well. I won't put another one above myself. Bad luck for others they can't survive without my help.

    So, I'd choose myself.

After having experienced depression multiple times.. I have found out that no matter how shitty things are. Living is worth it.

Your life is precious, there's only one of it in the world. But there is 7 billion others not you. We might be connected. But you are just you, you are your own world. And you shouldn't give yours away.

  4. Completed 1st book Sandry's Book, of Circle of Magic series. By Tamora Pierce.

Some thoughts of mine about the book.

I remember reading this when I was younger, I liked it quite a lot back then. It's perhaps a book leaning more on the younger audiences (around 15y).

I still find it a great book even now. Because of the world, characters and magic is all very nice to be immersed in. I'll explain why..

The book change between 4 different characters point of view (POV). Each one having good and negative sides with them. You can immerse yourself in each one of them, their lives and how they think and react. I felt all of their personalities rang with me, they are all part of me. My ideals, my negatives and such. Although I found them easy to connect with, I wouldn't say they are simple characters. Also while I watched their growth I felt endeared to them. It was like watching children part of me growing up.

The stuff that happens is mostly just everyday stuff in that world and some drama. I found it as relaxing immersion in their world and the characters world.
It has some interesting way of thinking about magic as well. There is multiple types of magic in that world. And the focus is on not standard magic school that is most normal there. (I suppose as well in most works of fantasy also). The you study, you chant incantations and throw spells etc.

Rather, the magic the characters have use is "only" through using practical items or applications, connected to the normal living most of the time.
They resonate with plants, or weaving, weather, smithing, etc. I found that pretty cool because of the description of the use of magic. Very good immersion in it. Because of the writing and descriptions from the characters POV. You felt much like you were part of the magic feeling of the characters.

Broad view of what I thought was good about the book was. The immersion in the world, the characters and the magic. Good stuff. It's also quite easy to read as well.

  5. Welcome dweller of the shadows Kira, rejoice of the light; of non-lurking xD

Some time later I got Yume Miru Kusuri, (still Y U NO HAVE STEP SISTER ROUTE??)

Hahaha, iirc. They removed a route for her because it didn't really fit in with the other routes as much. I got the feeling there is a hole there, as I got the feeling why doesn't she have a route!? Even without having the love for loli's ^^
