  1. Thanks the feedback. It is very helpful, mostly I need to check that the story is conveying what I am going for. Typing in word is probably a very obvious solution to misspelling, I honestly didn't think fi that for some reason, I feel I must mention that the bg music is all from soundimage.org, so it's freely available. I really hope to just have good enough art to give direction to a real artist. Though if anyone wants the three d sprite models I can provide them and make put on blendswap.
  2. Hi I'm hoping to get some feedback on a visual novel demo. It have builds on all pc platforms and android. I do hope to be able to improve the artwork, as it stands now, it's only me working this project. Thanks in advance http://www.pandadeath.com/rio-demo.html
  3. Hi, this is a work in progress which is a physics-based dating simulator. I wanted to sort of show what it is like to be a female physics student, be a little educational, and allow you to pursue boys (or allow boys to pursue you depending upon how you play). I am hoping to get some more feedback on it, on the gameplay and the physics lessons. http://www.pandadeath.com/physics-otome.html Thanks.
  4. That seems perfect for all the non-artists. It is definitely something I would consider.
  5. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could perhaps tell me where I am being dumb. I want a button to add to a "completion" value, but for the life of me I can not figure out where it is not working. I have flat out just copied the code from the tutorials trying to make this work: init python: showcompletion= False completion = 0 def display_completion(): if showcompletion: ui.frame() #This is optional. It adds a frame around the text. ui.text("Completion: %d" %completion) config.overlay_functions.append(display_completion) my python init for the "completion" value from https://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/cookbook/Simple_Onscreen_Inventory and here is the button: screen P_tube_options00: modal False imagebutton: xpos 0 ypos 500 idle "idle.png" hover "hover_text.png" action [Hide("imagebutton")] imagebutton: xpos 180 ypos 180 idle "blank.png" hover "hover.png" action [Jump("P_tube00_description"), SetVariable("completion",completion+1), SetVariable('T_options00a',True)] This is from https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9412 However, whenever I print the "completion" afterward, it is still 0. If I hard code a $completion+=1 in the main script I get the "completion" counter to increase by one. However, if I put SetVariable("completion",completion+=1), or $completion+=1 in the imagebutton tabs, I get an error. I know I am missing something very simple and sorry if it is not explained well.
  6. I have since made some less sack-puppet looking people.
  7. Hi. I have been working on a visual novel. I'm not an artist though and unfortunately do have any money to hire an artist so I am a bit stuck having to do the art myself. I decided to go with rendering scenes with three models and was hoping to get an idea if the artwork is passable or not. However, I can't figured out how to put the pictures in the post. Sorry (believe me, I know it is stupid and I only have myself to blame, but the only thing I can do is apologise for the inconvenience, and I do know that there is a simple solution, sorry again). I put in a link (http://pandadeath.com/annes-book) (I really don't know if that is against some kind of internet protocol manners, if it is then I am sorry for that and maybe one day will figure out how to put the picture in the post. Thanks.
  8. I echo the same question. It would be nice to be able to get feedback as the novel is developing for me at least).
  9. Thanks. Sounds good to me. It is nice to see how many active people there are here. Also yeah, I didn't mean to say that Persona and Life is Strange are visual novels, I just heard about visual novels through the comparison.
  10. Hi, I am new to this forum. I was looking for a group of active visual novel fans and developers. I am somewhat new to visual novels in general, though I have played games like the persona series or life is strange. I mostly became interested in the genre through hearing about visual novels increasingly on video game podcasts and then finding a connection through learning python and pygame programming. I am mostly interested in the diversity of visual novels, from those that play like a choose your own adventure story to dating sims to rpgs.
