  1. If it's even possible to translate it, Dies Irae is probably the only one out there I'd consider important enough for me to put on a list like this. It's the one VN out there I can say without a doubt will probably make me a better writer if I manage to read it. As much as I'd like for it to get an English translation I'll probably end up having to learn Japanese for it eventually. Especially once I reach the conclusion of this project since a future one I have in mind feels somewhat similar to Dies Irae in terms of tone.
  2. Melty Blood is good news. I consider it good news that it's playable without piracy now, especially if they manage to give the online play a good amount of support as well.
  3. Confession: I just realized Rains and Cyr's avatars are matching.
  4. You could give up some of your cyr-time Isn't cyr-time important? : <
  5. Hope you find some more soon. ANd yes, this thread is good. Confession: I wrote up a synopsis for the main plot thread for the new sub-editors and one of the reactions was very positive. It feels nice
  6. Confession: Watching the newest One Punch Man and all of a sudden holy fuck is that Conan's voice?
  7. There's two others but I'm open to having more than one in the event some might be busy. Just know it's a more thorough point than the people I randomly ask for feedback and it does involve spoilers when compared to someone who would read it on-release.
  8. Many things happened. Make a VN out of this: VNs are hard to make D: I'd rather just make it into a lewd short story instead ._. I beg you *bows* Dont. Just dont. Please ;-; Fiiine xD
  9. Many things happened. Make a VN out of this: VNs are hard to make D: I'd rather just make it into a lewd short story instead ._. That's enough for a VN according to Winged Cloud But WInged Cloud is shit. A broken clock is on time twice a day This an abomination of humanity, not a bloody clock. ._.

  12. Nothing concrete. That said some writing experience would be useful - aside from that, a general drive to keep improving in that end, since more experience is always useful. Head onto Writing Excuses and listen to a bunch of their stuff to get a grasp of some of the fundamentals and concepts so we're on the same page at least, and try to work on some of your own writing as well.
  13. Zodai get on this now! I hate you for this Hate me all you want, it makes no difference to me. If I knew how to link people, Zodai would show up faster... Wait what happened while I was gone D: My brother took the laptop with him over the weekend and mine is in need of repair >.<
  14. I could give it a try, I've been meaning to get into writing for vns and this would be a good start. Send a PM and I'll see if I can add you over Skype.
  15. So, my main editor has been busy with university and hasn't been able to reply in a while. Working on an unannounced VN project, and I need a sub-editor to help figure stuff out. Mental strength has been weakening and I need a supporting pillar to assist. The main plot is sorted but there's things in the scene-by-scene that tend to hold up progression and some brainstorming/problem solving that leaves me out of mental energy. Primarily it's stuff like helping sorting through the plot details and figuring out how everything fits together, which appear to be where I'm getting stuck, and making it through any problems writing-wise, in addition to line and scene-by-scene editing, and maybe helping out with brainstorming in terms of a side-story when I need a step away from the main one. For the record the project itself is commercial but for the sake of clarity you can consider this unpaid unless it works out well enough to consider upon the start of the next project. Is anyone there? Post here and send a PM so I know how to add on Skype/whatever communication you use.
  16. Confession: I think I need a sub-editor since my main one has been really busy from university. I'm having a hard time with writing >.<
  17. Confession: I was watching youtube and saw an advertisement for a horror movie.
  18. Confession: I bought Dying Light during the sale and I'm playing it instead of the Koichoco translation. It's actually quite good
  19. You didn't even try Neither did I Usually there's some sort of process to these things, it's just so vague and incomprehensible I have a hard time with it ;-; You didn't even try Neither did I *stares* Geeee >.> Confession: I can't tell how to interpret this. ^^:;
  20. 4th Confession: Please go out with me! Sure That actually worked. O_O Why can't it be that easy for me D: Try one of this (from homer simpson): "I like you as a friend," "I think we should see other people," "I no speak English" "I'm married to the sea," "I don't want to kill you but I will..." And if that doesn't work, six simple words: "I'm not gay, but I'll learn." Well I kinda did tell him to never call me and he doesnt talk much in class. Maybe I am successful!~ Moreover, he kinda gets pissed at anime talks Found another reason Honestly it feels like difficulty in some areas. I think I had a small period like that after my first breakup ;-; With this kind of a situation I usually believe there's some sort of emotional fulfillment or attachment that isn't there, and so they end up a bit clingy because they have a hard time finding that elsewhere. Personally it's best if someone has some non-relationship goals or meaningful lives outside of romance or just that one person because then they can use that to support themselves along with their significant other instead of placing the burden of their entire emotional support on them.
  21. The world needs more lewdness. But only when I'm actually feeling lewd. Because when I'm not I'm probably trying to write and then I feel guilty because I feel like I should be interested but I'm not.
  22. Confession: Neither do I. I'm a Bernie Sanders fan but most of the details behind politics have always been muddy because I've never had faith in this kind of stuff to genuinely care about the everyday people.
  23. 999 I feel like is more a combination of good characters and story. The plot twists are engaging because the characters realize it and react along with the player. Virtue's Last Reward felt more like it was plot-heavy so it could set up for later games, though. I don't feel like it resolved all its conflicts.
  24. From a writer's perspective, (I'm assuming story is meant as 'plot') I'd have to go with characters, though this way of looking at it cuts into the specifics quite a lot. Doing something at the moment so I can't go into full detail but generally it seems like an interest in the people in the story or the events surrounding them, maybe you could include themes in here as well. If you don't have an interest in the people driving the events and those effected by them, the events themselves lose their impact, so plot with no characters tends to be weaker than a story where the characters are worth caring about but the plot and progression of events tends to be built on a weaker foundation. As a result a plot-heavy story usually sets its characters as representative of the themes or ideas embodied by the story, and thus you give the characters a foothold in the story even if they're technically a representation of something non-human in a form the reader can relate with. And then, the story ends once the conflicts dictated by these themes/ideas come to an end through the process of the events. Whereas on the other hand, a character-heavy story (my specialty) would think up the internal and external conflicts of the people involved in the story, relating to themselves or other characters, and use those as a basis for the plot - you push a character into something they have to go up against, be it romance or a fist-fight with your long lost brother, and bring the conflict to its resolution. From there whether it ends in victory or defeat, the characters involved react to the conclusion, and those reactions effect the other ones, leading to character development which leads into another conflict. Then, the story ends once all the conflicts have been resolved, and everyone involved has changed as a result. The difference between the two mainly lies in the conflicts - both end when their conflicts are resolved, and both are resolved through the actions of those progressing the events, but in a plot-heavy story your conflicts are generally dictated by a theme or idea, which then serves as the basis of the characters, whereas in a character-heavy story you start with the internal and external conflicts of everyone involved, and events occur from their attempts to resolve these conflicts. From those resolutions you have character development, and the conflicts that spring forth from their growth serve as the basis for the story's themes, even if they're more haphazard than a story that uses them as a starting point.
