They do really care about all this rules of how to speak in Japan.
u r caring about 'rules' in this exact phrase. u use 'do' instead of 'does' for they, u put the verbs and nouns and everything in the correct order, (you broke 1 tho: its these rules, not this). so yea, rules are necessary for a language; its natural 4 em. but they do break some rules, like omitting sounds and abbreviating stuff.

I'm pretty sure that the only reason to learn 古文 these days are if you plan to read older Japanese literature in the original. Unless you are either really anal about translations (to the extent that you don't even trust modern japanese translations of older japanese) or if you are getting a graduate degree in Japanese literature, then I see no real reason to learn 古 文. So I am curious what your incentives are.
well, even jap students learn it. but its not rly a 'necessity' thing, but + of a curiosity or culture and language obsession (no weaboo). anyway, learning 古文 would make me feel + confident n + knowledgeable bout the language.
dont bother trying to understand strippers, tbh.

Curious btw. What books/sites/material will you use to study 古文?

as much as there are 50+ hours yuri games
like, you played 58 vns and is implying there is none based on ur limited knowledge, srsly? also, lemme see, theres no "kobun" tag in vndb, so ur implyment is baseless.
-
i think ill start studying it in the near future. i was wondering if there are vns like this. if there are, plz say what they r.
-
yea you do. like, all the conjugations of verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc. are done in hiragana. besides, ud need it to differentiate kanji meanings with furigana.
also, its not hirIgana, but hirAgana. mkay? also, if u learn katakana and the basic way to adapt engrish words to jap, u already know a bunch of words, just be careful with fake cognates.

https://vndb.org/v18635 (West needs more trap protagonists)
https://vndb.org/v18778 (Think this one will be long as well, like the previous game by the same company)
https://vndb.org/v18489 (looks interesting)

Anyone who plays Steins;Gate will be bedazzled. You dont have to be a visual novel fan to appreciate it.
thats the reason promoting vns as games isnt a good idea(at least on west). heck, even putting them in a library among books would be better, cuz it would arise curiosity and bookworms would be more willin or curious to play em.

With his series done publishing, there's not that much incentive to make a new anime season from the publisher's side.
but but eroge? they are always "done" before getting anime adaptation, like waremete was from 2010 and got a 2014 animu.
-
so i think ill go with lb. hope i can convince her. it was difficult to introduce her to animu but she ended up loving the ones she saw.

I watched that when I was 5 years old... it is the first TV show other than Sesame Street I actually remember watching... and it shaped my tastes a lot. I'd suggest Eden* or Planetarian for her.
id like to give her something short, so it might be adequate, but dont those have sad endings?(she doesnt like sad endings).

well, there's also this list http://blog.livedoor.jp/twode_perf/archives/53724230.html Sakuuta ranked 10 with ~17411 copies sold

that's because you shouldn't open the vn with chiitrans and vnr at the same time, you should open it with VNR and hook the text with either vnr or ITH, just let it copy the text and use it with chiitrans.
i didnt get the last part: how am i supposed to copy it and use with chiitrans?
-
23 hours ago, Deep Blue said:
did you try using the vnr method?
im trying it now, but when i open the VN with VNR, chiitrans doesnt hook the text cuz it says 'already running'. i can only hook with chiitrans if i open it with chiitrans, but then i wont be able to use VNR.

And no, "porn" isn't a tiny fraction of vn industry. Vast majority of titles is 18+ only (yes, that's the eroge we're talking about) and only a small amount of visual novels remains all ages.

i wasnt talkin bout the industry, but the games

Well then she won't be a fan of Kirari's normal route in KiraKira (which you have to get before the true route). Is she fine with depressing stuff as long as things turns out alright? Like in an old Don Bluth movie?
yes, think she is.
